    Well you have a 1” impact with an undersized air supply... so there’s that.

    What is the make and model of the 2 Drills used in this demonstration?

      The cordless is a Milwaukee 1” D handle ratchet. The pneumatic is one that can be found at any Princess Auto

    Where did you get the fitting to attach to the hammer drill to put in pylex foundation screws?

    • @woodbullyltd
      @woodbullyltd  Před rokem +1

      Not a hammer drill. Impact wrench, a hammer drill would be dangerous. The bit is a 1” male driver bit that I shaved to 7/8” with a grinder

      @@woodbullyltd I am going to give this a go this week or next...I couldn't find the 1" ..I could find the 3/4 which I thought I could end up snapping. So I have an impact socket 1" by 3/4” which seams to fit ok..it catches on the two indents. Also found a 33mm impact socket that would fit the outside but again the driver was 3/4”
      I'll let you know how I made out

      Well the 3/4” adaptor worked just fine. Now I own a 1" corded impact. Thanks Wood Bully!

    Compressor is constantly running. Not at full strenght for the Pneumatic wrench.

    Did you put anything on your impart drill to get into the pylex?

      I put an adapter that goes from 1” female to 3/4” male

      @Wood Bully LTD. Do you think a half inch impact wrench would be strong enough to drive the pylex into the ground?

    Hi

  • @robfred2713
    @robfred2713 Před rokem

    So I talked to Pylex HQ on this, you need a 1/2" to 3/4" impact drive adapter. Unfortunately the power of my impact wrench 'rounded out' the square Pylex tubing such that the top bolt/saddle assembly would no longer insert over the pile, took quite a bit of cold working to square it out again to be functional. If you soil is not super soft, DON'T do this! It looks cool and fast, but the piles are just mild steel and threading them in with a 2x4 is fast enough...

    • @ajdonally1522
      @ajdonally1522 Před rokem

      I used a 1" impact and it worked very nicely. Although I'll probably weld on a couple 1/8 inch washers you achieve 7/8" which fits snuggly. I did get a little bit of rounding but it's wasn't an issue

    • @robfred2713
      @robfred2713 Před rokem

      @@ajdonally1522 Mine drove into the ground just fine too. I'm not sure if it was the loose fit or the soft steel; let me know how the washers work out... Harder ground will produce more rounding.

    • @ajdonally1522
      @ajdonally1522 Před rokem

      @@robfred2713 yeah I could see that..if it doesn't work..I will have welder take some square tube and go right over the post. I did speaking to their engineering Dept as there was some wobble and they suggested that when I get to the depth to hot with a slegge to compact earth at bottom and then spray water around the post..and in a few days the ground will firm up. That worked.
      I also found that cross bracing between the beams made the whole thing rock solid
