Fahim is the best Millennial Comic out there. His name fucks him up due to inexplicable racism. Guys like Mark and Joe and Sam get all the glory, but Fahim is "The One".

Roger Troutman created the "talkbox" (where you sang into a hose held in your mouth) which sounded similarly to what became the "vocoder" tool popularised by Daft Punk and electronic/dance music.
2Pac used Troutman's talkbox in California Love, Tech N9ne used it a few times in his earlier stuff from that era, and then Cher used a similar tool in editing/mastering software for that track mentioned here (might have been ProTools i can’t remember), standing against her producers and managers' advice, and it turned out to be an era-defining sound.
T-Pain took it and reduced the variance to 0 and it became packaged as its own filter tool as what we call "auto-tune" now.
I cant tell if they were aware of this while talking about it, the delivery was so deadpan.
