    I read this as steam deck, i was pretty confused on how it'd work with a raspi 😆

    I am glad to see someone else present a project in a prototype-y sort of state. It helps combat that notion that everything needs to be perfect or IS always perfect when making these sorts of devices/builds and associate videos. Thanks for keeping it real! Subbed!

    Well, there is a software called "companion".
    It is used in combination with streamdeck, but it has a web ui test page

    For your premiere text, would a mogrt help you setup templates with the same color etc.. I haven't done any hardcore editing for a while but I remember you can use mogrt template and have very cool graphics that you can edit, some advanced mogrt require after effect while some can be done in premiere

    I use an old Asus Zenphone 2 and TouchPortal. Works just fine. can use an old 10" pad as well.

      For sure! And I missed that macrodeck can also run as a web client, so even an iPad could work although I don’t know if there would be a latency penalty.
      That being said, I still really like that it can function as a standalone display when needed

    Hey dude, there IS a way to get text presets in premiere, although it is not very user friendly. I already totally forgot how to do it lol but if you're interested I'll check on my work PC and report back to ya 🤙🏽

    Wouldn't any old kindle fire be cheaper than this touch display + raspi ? Then it just becomes a problem of getting some combination of android/locally served web page to do your macro things...

    Using this myself for obs and just thought I would let you all know EA pick it up and will kick you as they think your running macros for games like Battlefield 2042. Even set this up on an old Tablet and works a treat

    I've got around five or six Android tablets just laying around, I can easily write my own software to control them _like_ a stream deck but what I really want are physical buttons with mini-displays on them. I'm thinking of cheating it by using transparent switches over an Android tablet. I just have to finish the other 8,932,234 projects I've started and never completed.

      @@JamesBuckleyusa I thought the Stream Deck had LCD buttons where you could change the display programmatically and with your own images.

    i used to use stream-pi, but the project has been dead for about a year (no new updates) also, half the promised features were never added, and half the features it does have, works half the time, if at all.. and on top of all of that, it's main developer left the project last year

      For me I used the windows utils command line, then ‘start chrome “website URL”’

    Sadly no info about how it connects (or did i miss it) the android device and the pc, cable or wifi ?
    pc usb to power it, so no data ..., macrodeck has webclient.

      Yeah I missed that. I was running it over wifi for a while but the VIM1S seemed struggle a bit with wifi so I just ran Ethernet to it.

      I don’t think there’s a plug-in for that, but that could be really cool!

      You can use Aida 64 for that and only connect a small screen via hdmi, you don't need a pi for that

      @@DieAgeLP I think he was asking if the app itself could have monitoring alongside the macr functionailty. Like have CPU temps on one of the tiles

    They are sourcing these panels from China and slapping RGB lights along with higher price on them. You can get the same thing much cheaper if you don't need an RGB.

    Why not just connect the display and touch directly to the PC?

      Because it places the cursor where you tab the screen, meaning if you are in game, or working you would always have to move the mouse backt to where it was before

    Raspberry Pi Icon -> Display Settings -> turn down resolution (i recommend 720p)

    $50-100 Android tablet is an ideal solution for a Macro Deck.

    - Only 800 pixels tall, not 1080.
    - Micro (?) USB connectors.
    - RGB defaults on
    Sigh... I hope it's $50.

      For a screen that size I don’t think the resolution is too big of an issue personally.
      The stand quality and rgb default was a huge bummer though haha

    Probably you can automate some things even more, using Auto Hot Key, and addressing ahk scripts from the Deck. It is quite a learning curve, though; @taranvanhemert has a good course on this)

    While setting up a Raspberry Pi, I always change the name of raspberry Pi in the raspberrypi.local option but never be able to access it through
    Any Idea??
