Facts
Carter 1-3 will forever be Wayne's best material!
I'm gonna have to agree with you on that sir
The carter 4 was pretty good to
Carter 1-3 is his best albums.
Dedication 2, Drought 3, that era was Waynes best material During the Carter 2 days, inbetween Carter 2 and 3.
+Bob Hill no ceilings was hot. Album wise Carter 1-3
+Cubanboy 1012 there were some good tracks. Not better than the first 3
I'm from Chicago, but I remember when Hurricane Katrina happened how we were just touched and hurt by how shyt went down..... I think Lil Wayne captured the very essence of that feeling in this song. I'm not a fan of his, but this song right here!!! He really represented the pain, the struggle, and helplessness of HIS city... If I never like another song he makes, I always respected him for this one.
You should be a fan of his. He got dope ass music MzShaybutta
MzShaybutta well said only track of his that I also like.
nnj
Now thats some real shit glad you can see quality on something even tho you dont like some things keepin an open mind
You can hear the pain in his voice,...like when 50 got shot in ghis face

Everytime I listen to this, it's just as good as the first time ... Truly a masterpiece.
When i read his biography, i was like laughing out loud about the nonsense he used to do but then like crying about the different incidents happend in his life! Dis dude is dope, he deserves this status ! Lil wayne, the fighter!
greatest of all time
matter of fact black people is one of the races in america where the fathers stick around the most, it's just a stereotype.
look at single mother % in the white, black, and Spanish communities from 4-5 decades ago, then look up single mother % now in the same communities...
smh only time can tell look at chief kief
“Take away the football teams the basketball teams and all ya got is me representing New Orleans”💯💯goosebumps
Man I listened to this song for 2.5 hours straight once. So deep.
Lol i used to wake up early in the morning about 8am, everyday when this song came out, probably around 10 years old and go listen to the whole album till about 1pm when everyone woke up. This is the moment when i became a wayne fan for life, im sorry if you dont like his new album but "too young" has this type of emotion check it out!
I remember stealin the album from best buy lmao
I'm glad you didn't get caught
Classic from Lil Wayne.
True
Omg i miss the old Wayneeeeeee
People say rap has no message boy were they wrong.
whatever people told you that are fukn liars and lethargic devils. message behind the bars
I know my comment wouldn't get view or respond by many people. But I'm rapper who does not cuss and my rap sound/style would find your attention. I have much more to show but right now I need you. Music brings everyone closer like family, my music is to shape that family. The same way you support me is the same way I'll support you.. 1luv, together we will change the earth one step at a time.
He & Robin killed this at the Grammys. It was a a legendary performance for them both, I think he won four Grammys. The Carter 3 is perfection.
"They try to tell me keep my eyes open, my whole city under water some people still floating".
the realest shit spoken.. Damn
One of his best albums
My favorite Wayne album
I agree
To this day still one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time.
MrGhettokid1994 2018 shit💯👌
With Katrina's anniversary around the corner, I decided to tune into some old Weezy. What a beautiful song that I forgot all about. Wayne no longer represents New Orleans, not with his current junk. Not sure if he even owns property here anymore. But back then he did and this song represented our struggle perfectly: struggling but optimistic. The storm is over, the city is its old, beautiful, unique, world-class self, and people are flooding back. The city's back, we wish Lil Wayne would come back to.
Well said
he does Wayne always reps new Orleans and Holly Grove he made music videos in new Orleans
Mr. Wayne killed this one with hard truth....Big ups Sir.
RIP to all lives lost in the tragedy
Sorry
So much soul from Robin. He made the song if you ask me.
Tedd E Jay yes he definitely made this song
I knock on the door..
Hope isn't home, Fate's not around, the luck's all gone
one of his realest songs. anybody who say weezy wack, don't know his music!
“ and dont ask me whats wrong , ask me whats right and ima tell you whats life”
These lyercs always make me smile cuase of how amazing they are. Wayne truly is something else, the one and only Goat
B E S T R A P P E R A L I V E
Lil Wayne is the truth! No one could do it like he could. He could just do it so effortlessly. Like he was just talking. He's truly a natural and one of a kind. WEEZY F BABY!

What a wonderful feeling to just sit home and stumble across a song that YOU have not heaRD IN YEARS.
Great track thinking back on it the Carter III had quite a few of them.
Carter 2 and Drought 3 have more if you missed them. I just stumbled across them myself, but then again you probably heard then lol
To me Carter III was an album you never had to skip a song on. The roller coaster trip he took us all on was perfection. Amazing album through an through
it's sad when u see Lil Wayne now. this song is beautiful
😢
Leija Farr Music is falling apart, the world is. Music is a small example of how watered down society is.
sobriety & fatherhood changed him lol It was for his own good, but the fans took the hit haha, you see all the seizures he has now is a consequence from all that lean he used to abuse. Not only that but his daughter is in her teen years, you can't rap about fucking bitches with a daughter hearing all these things. My point is he changed just like most of us do & continue to. No one stays on top forever.
mcluvin28x I like to believe he can make music like this still. He doesn't even try anymore . He doesn't care to , guess he doesn't have to tho really. People will always soak up anything . Even garbage mumble rap
Uhm, have you even heard any of his recent music? Where did you get the idea that he "cant rap about fucking bitches"?
When Wayne makes songs like this & "something you forgot" you can bet your ass he is one of the best to grab a mic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I walked through dem Katrina waters wit my wit my 5month old son!!!!! This song touches my soul!!!!🥺😢
marvin gayes voice in the background is everything
Allelujah Haptism That's culture vulture Robin Thicke... Jacking Marvin Gaye's style just like he did on Blurred Lines, which the Gaye family successfully sued him over!!!
Iam WhoIam I was just about to say that.
Iam WhoIam it's funny I always thought he had more a prince sound anyway lol that being said you right culture vulture 😂
CAN THE REAL WAYNE PLEASE COME BACK.
if anybody didnt know this is about hurricane katrina that recked where wayne was from. im from that area and it was horrible. blessed to be alive
Very happy to have u here.
Much love. 💕💕

Every single verse from Wayne on this track is 🔥
He has to be one of the cutest babies ever!
Listening to this during Hurricane Harvey here in Houston Tx.
one of the realest tracks Wayne put out. a whole bunch of emotion went into this one. #neverforgetkatrina
If people only new smh. I was there during Katrina and very active. anniversary coming up and the south is still neglected. Tell em I said it. it's the progress that feels the best. In every dark cloud there's a silver lining. We got spirit ya'll
i forgot how good of a album was for him. this came out my sophomore year high school, i remember just chilling with the homies smoking listing to this shit. The good ol days lol
This song still brings tears to my eyes cs all I see when I hear this song is the footage of ppl right after the hurricane hit
2017 and this is just amazing , bring back old wayne
every time I hear this song it makes me tear up thanks wezzy for everything you did for the Nola I was here form the storm and he just speaking the truth our city still fucked up
They don't want us to see......but we already know.
Who doesn't like this song? This is a good song, Lil Wayne has demons but he also has God given talent.
I know he’s speaking about Katrina but man, this makes me think of Harvey and brings me to tears. “My whole city under water. Some people still floatin” I can’t deal y’all 💔
Never understood all the hate Wayne gets. He's lyrics are so poetic and deep. "Every dark cloud got a silver lining"
For real man, I think everyone can relate to this. I got chills on that last verse. it's deep shit......
Who still holding on to this classic
This song used to make me cry, sometimes it still does. So perfect 👌🏽
carter three still the best one this song is so beautiful still makes me teary eyed fr I wish he put his heart in the songs like he used to instead of this comerical shit
This always had me... I'm in tears. Emotions running deep
Back when he actually wasn't gone off drugs 24/7 and made music with substance
he was actually during the peak of his drug career at this point. if you watch the carter documentary, he basically wasn't even aware of what songs even made tha carter 3 album haha. he just did his stuff and recorded. wayne is a beast!
no when he wrote this song he was on drugs
He was drugged out by this point
You tweakn he was gone off the lean at this point
Haha uneducated ass
keep on grinding in every dark cloud there's a silver lining March 29 2018 this still motivates me to never give up no matter how bad things get classic Wayne TIMELESS MUZIK
The nostalgia is real with this one.
Love you weezy
I have never met a person that loves and knows rap like my brother who praises rap like it's a god. I've never been into it and then I heard my brother listening to this song.......
Don’t ask me what’s wrong.. ask me what’s right. 2019 and we still feelin this.
songz like this, mirror, georgia, somethin you forgot, reasons why he is in MY top 5
Taking me back to high school 😩. I loved this album
Love you Fred.... Whatever you and Carrie can't be replicated. Keep it up!
this song invokes real tears...gotta had to been thru something to feel this
I can't bare to listen to Wayne now. I played that Carter 3 on a loop for months, when it 1st come out
One of the realest Rap-Songs ever FACT
The only Lil Wayne album i listen to
gay
Your mom
Justin Lambert you are..
the Carter and Carter 2 are better imo. plus all his old tapes were fucking amazing
Hassan M Carter II is probably his only classic album, surprised you don't listen to that
5/24/2018
I still catch myself listening to this and envisioning the days that this music came out. The Carter 1,2 and 3 were amazing.. After this music era, music changed forever. I don't think that where we are going with hip hop music will ever be as good as this era was. This reminds me of the first time I traveled to California by myself at 15.. If I could choose one word to describe these albums it would be FREEDOM
We got spirit y'all
We got soul
They don't want us to see
What we ALREADY know.
Who else still rock this!? 2018! Aye!
I can feel the pain of an entire city in this track ✊🏽 but it's always love
this song just takes me to another place. lil wayne
2017 and this songs message is still applicable..timeless. We need more love on this Earth!
i like everyone you just named, CARTER II is his best cd....... hands down in my opinion. im from MPLS so ive like brother ali n slug from the get go! many ppl hate on wayne but carter 1 and 2 are just killer......
Seems surreal, considering how my city of Houston just went through Harvey. So much pain, so many people displaced- and yet so much resilience, love and community.
I'm sorry my melanin brothers and sisters in sorry for what you've endured
man he gave new orleans the light in thehard times..he didnt let go unknown...man he hits the heart
this is who wayne is.. the wayne we miss... R.I.P. lil wayne
U cant help but to love Wayne.
The absolute best Carter ever!!
