Former nail polish hoarder checking in: I still have about 100 bottles, which is a TINY fraction of what I used to have, there's a women's shelter where I used to live that has the best nail polish collection, let's just put it at that. I will never be that person again. Anyway, thick polish -- for the ones you put remover into the bottles, toss them, the chemical structure is ruined. Remover is designed to break the bonds of nail polish. Get a polish thinner like Seche Restore, a bottle of that is incredibly handy to keep around and you'll have it forever. I put a few drops in any of my polishes when they start to feel thick, it even works great for quicky dry topcoats that get thick really fast. A contributor to polish drying out is crusted polish around the opening of the bottle, take a cotton pad with pure acetone and clean the crusts off, be careful not to drip any acetone into the bottle. But only do this BEFORE you are getting ready to do your nails. This will ensure that any broken down polish and acetone reside on the glass has time to evaporate and dry, otherwise you'll glue your brush to the bottle because the wet acetone will react with any little bit that's up inside the cap. (ask me how I know...) This should do it, polish doesn't expire but there's definitely a drying out point where it can't be brought back from. I have polishes from the early 90s and I still wear them. Like perfumes you should store them away from light because some pigments fade. This is more than you probably wanted to know, LOL!
I do my own nails. No gel, just regular polish. It’s a lot of fun, I like to change color frequently and it’s way less expensive than getting them done 😁
Do you just remove the polish after a few days? At this point I’ve already fixed up the polish THREE times and have barely had the polish on two weeks. I just get so annoyed lol it’s too much work
@@laralikesmascara I remove the polish after 7-10 days. I do a thorough routine with nail prep, base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat. I use the one from Rimmel or the Essie Gel Couture!
For my goopy nail polish, I use Seche Vite Restore Drops. From my understanding it adds key ingredients back into nail polish to improve cinsistency. My first bottle lasted for over 3 years and have repurchased it to extend the life of my nail polishes. For reference, I have about 40 nail polishes and do my nails about every 10 days.
I use 4-10 drops per polish bottle depending on how goopy it is. Mix and shake the polish well, and add more if needed. I bought the Restore Drops off Amazon.
i do my nails just polish at home, with a new clear top coat every other day. they still dont last that long, maybe a week, but i like changing colors often lol
I think would empty the oil and the face mask in a plastic bag and throw it in the bin and recycle the packaging . It would be a shame for the packaging not to be recycled There is a product called : nail polish thinner that revives nail polishes ! It's amazing ! I use it all the time and that way you can fully use your nail polishes 🙏🏻
I know you can recycle cooking oil, so maybe you can find sth for the body oil, or not? Nail polish thinner can revive your nail polish, but I think yours has passed the point. I keep the bottle of the colours I like and try to find a similar,( take it to store with me ) and I strongly agree about the length of the brush. Eventually I tip a drop on a plastic surface/bottle cap and pick it from there. Dry shampoo is not for me, I wash my hair almost everyday, yes it's annoying...😢
I’ve been better about doing slicked back looks now that my hair is darker and it’s not as obvious how greasy it is! But clean looking hair is still always better to me 😅
Literally just painted my nails lol. Nail polish remover breaks down the product so don’t use it in polish. Nail polish thinner is the trick, a couple drops usually does the trick!
I agree with the nail polish thinner! However, the nail polish cap/brush itself I deep clean with nail polish remover/ acetone so it’s not so goopy anymore.

Hi, when I do my own nails I try to use a top coat so it stays on longer. But I see that it starts to chip after a week so I redo them every week 🙃

A week sounds pretty good! I don't think mine usually last for more than 4 days

I never use dry shampoo. I let my hair be greasy until I am over that and then wash it.
And I do my own nails with good old regular polish.
I’ve been better about doing slicked back looks now that my hair is darker and it’s not as obvious how greasy it is! But clean looking hair is still always better to me 😅

Hm ok I don’t have that! I should look into it

I just don't take the Time to put nail polish on. Have so much. I really should try to use them more often.
That’s exactly how I feel. It’s just suuuuuch a hassle
