    Mic drop Soundbite: “Massive difference between genuine joy and peace… and moments of relief and ego-driven satisfaction among moments of anxiety.”
    Thank you Marcus.

    I would like this video many, many times if I could. The discussion about bodybuilding is one I agree with, and in my experience getting everything else right can lead to more exclusion, isolation and sacrifices.

    Sarah, you can't imagine how much I appreciated this episode ! My question to Marcus would be : what if you revolved all your life (except for the work part) around exercise/ fitness, and sacrified everything else to have time to train/ eat / rest , and now that your body is broken, you don't have a supporting network to rely on ?
    And my question to you, Sarah, if I may ask (but you don't have to answer !!) : there are soooooo many yoga classes online, a lot focusing on the core, so why do you play with fire and keep doing, even just once a month, this particular one that triggers you a bottomless hunger ?
    Thanks again for this discussion, will follow Marcus RN !

      Good questions! My instinct to the question to me was that there is a familiarity in that workout I enjoy and also it seems like it does a lot in a short amount of time.
      I find it eases my back niggles (and that is usually the prompt to do it; when a get a back niggle).
      I also have zero judgement about the bottomless hunger and it kind of fascinates me. It’s like an experiment I keep repeating and never quite making a satisfactory conclusion. I’m actually wondering it the sensation in my core is getting crossed with hunger because of where it is located so I’m going to hold that curiously and see what I observe next time

    I have found core being sore mimics the feeling of physical hunger. Likely you are equating the feeling of your core being sore with that which explains why it doesnt seem to go away no matter how much you eat.

    Brilliant! Thanks for your work, Sarah and Markus! It was an especially interesting and useful episode! Most of the things are sooo relatable. In my opinion, there isn't enough information about the connection between sport and binge eating.
    By the way, ravenous hunger after exercising, even after a little run,is exactly what I feel. It felt to me like I'm broken because no one talks about it. I feel better now.
    Also,Sarah, have you read "Dopamine nation" by Anna Lembke?

    Sarah, perhaps the core yoga work is stimulating the third chakra which is supposed to stimulate digestive fire therefore causing an increase in appetite?

    • @TheBingeEatingTherapist
      @TheBingeEatingTherapist  Před 26 dny

      You may be right. I think there is something about it being in my core where digestion also resides

    The idea that I have to “not want to lose weight” or look a certain way…just adds to the stress! But I like the idea of letting them just be there while focusing on other things as well.

      You don’t have to at all! This is so individual and just about checking in with what intentions work for you. If it’s worse for you to put pressure on yourself that your motivations should be this or that, don’t do it! ❤️

    Is it wrong to have the intention of exercising to enable my body to fit into my clothes that im too big for because of disordered eating?

    • @TheBingeEatingTherapist
      @TheBingeEatingTherapist  Před měsícem +2

      Not wrong! This is not a matter of right or wrong, it's more about if that intentions serves you, as in, does it help you to have a healthy relationship with exercise or does it make it more problematic? I think everyone gets to answer this for themselves as these challenges are so diverse
