Know is one of my favs songs. Dimash voice is more beautiful in this rendition. I love Dimash is sharing the stage with maestro Krutoy both are pure magic together and the sound of the oboe makes it so charming.
The New Wave Festival is an international contest for young performers of popular music founded in 2002 by maestro Igor Krutoy and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls and later enhanced by the Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva. It usually lasts for six days and the last one after the award ceremony it is followed by an ending concert. Dimash has been special guest and a jury member many times. Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Great reaction John! ❤️🎤💐👏👏👏👏

I went to first concert of Dimash in Russia, Moscow Kremlin 2019. He performed this song at the first time. It was magical.
I think there might have been a record with flowers when he won the award in russia with igor for love of tired swans, never saw so many flowers.

Just in case no one has ever told you, but if you see Igor Krutoy on the stage with Dimash, he wrote the song. Some of them are new covers of some of his older works or like this one and Olympico, he wrote them especially for Dimash. They have quite a successful partnership.
The original version of this song Ascolta La Voce (vocalise) was written by Igor many years ago and Lara Fabian performed it in 2010. I believe the lyrics were written for Dimash for this version. In his concerts though, Dimash usually performs the Ascolta La Voce vocalise version.

You must check out his new release Dudarai a traditional Kazakh folk song that he has updated with jazz/funk style. Was released in China this past 2weeks October 2023. He plays Dombra and keyboard. Fantastic new sound! Think you would like it! 🙏❤️✌️ PS I also love this performance!

New Wave (Russian: Новая волна, Novaya volna, Latvian: Jaunais Vilnis) is an international contest for young performers of popular music founded in 2002 by the Russian composer Igor Krutoy and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls and later enhanced by the Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva. The contest usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days and, at the end, the day where the contest's results are announced followed by an ending concert.
In 2019 Dimash performed the song „Know“ as a guest not as a competitor. And in 2021 Dimash was even one of the judges of this competition.

New Wave is a contest for young performers in Russia but Dimash has never been a contestant. He was a guest here in 2019 and in 2021 he introduced and performed 3 new songs but he was a judge for the contest.

Just out of interest, Raushan, who is the sister of Dimash, has sung on stage with him. She has a good voice and is very pretty They perform all By Myself together. Raushan is very shy and wants to be a doctor. She can also be seen singing Durdurai on her own, which Dimash has just released a jazzed up version.

If you want to do a mini-series of reactions to "Know", you may also react to Dimash's performance at Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday concert at the VTB arena in Moscow and the 2020 performance in Kiew. The latter is quite different with Dimash only vocalizing and ad-libbing. In both of these performances, you can hear him certainly live, whereas I have the strong impression that the Russian TV had overlaid the studio soundtrack over Dimash's live singing here at New Wave.

The flute is called a Duduk. Apparently he has loved the sound of this insteument since childhood and often uses it in his music. Dimash can sing very close to what it sounds like too. There is a cool video of him in the studio imitating it.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian composer and music producer. He came out of retirement after witnessing Dimash sing Sinful Passion at Sochi 2018 during the tribute concert to A'Studio. They got together to collaborate to incredible successes. Igor composed Know about a decade ago. Came back to put lyrics to it for Dimash. Dimash has sung numerous updated versions of Krutoy compositions, and he has wrote new ones specifically for Dimash's range. ie. Olimpico, Passione, Love of Tired Swans, Stranger, Ave Maria...

Do listen to Ascolta la Voce, a vocalise (no words, except those he says at the beginning and end, repeating Ascolta la Voce) with the same motif as Know. The name translates into Listen to the Voice in English, and that is what we do, with our mouths open.
