Holy fuck he came back not playing around
he never went away he just been practicing wallrides.
he was heavily injured and drinking for a while they made a video of him talking about it after getting back on Baker
His part and figgy's part were the ones I was most excited to see.

The Comeback kid. In one of the promos he does a nollie back tail kickflip to fakie on a picnic table, it wasn't in here for some reason but as soon as I saw that I knew he was gonna have some footage you could tell he got off the booze and got his strength back. Not to mention injuries, he's a lot less shaky and more solid on his board now then in his last part. Its fucking rad.
watching him get that back tail backside flip off of that bank over three separate sessions made me respect this guy infinitely... definition of PERSISTENCE

I've been out of the game for quite some time this is the first footy I've seen of spanky since baker 3 I didn't even know he still shreds its so awesome to see what he's grown into
I enjoy these so much more than the actual video parts
i really enjoy the B-Sides, seeing the trys before the make is the blessed part. Hell yeah Spanks
enjoyed it. much better without music. you really can feel it....
That and the fact you don't see everything landed first try we actually get to see the struggles to get tricks and see they are actually human after all. lol

I remember like a year back I was skating hollenbeck skatepark here in Los Angeles and I happened to snap my board as soon as Brandon Westgate showed up so he calls me over and we walk to his car and he hooks me up with a brand new 7.75 zoo York deck with the emerica sticker on the nose,i was forever grateful for that
Seriously had chills the whole time. The back tail bs kickflip was the best clip ever. That sunset and all the work he put in makes it come to life.
These B tapes compared to spankys B tapes from stay gold are a night and day difference. Since he got sober his skating has been amazing. I love seeing that happen to ppl who get sober. Ive been sober for a few years now and ppl say it to me too. Another example is even Gucci mane (ber!) its like when ppl get sober their aura and body just gleem w life and positive energy. Even his approach on daily life seems to be positive and he looks happy. Love when that happens to ppl. Go see for yourselves and watch stay gold B sides hes like super miserable looking and genuinely not having a good time and like a grey rainy cloud is constantly follow him. Now chapter 2 B sides hes like naturally full of energy and hes on top of his game w skating and seems to be genuinely having fun and is pullin off some sick tricks. Being in recovery you genuinely know if someone is legit sober or just bullshitting you and saying theyre sober but theyre not. Spanky is an example of what I am talking about he genuinely looks sober and life and positive energy has filled him back up. Same w Reynolds and Ellington. Even with Greco lol he genuinely looks miserable but when he talks and tells his story you know hes genuine and for sure sober. Even Ali Boulala.. as shitty of a hand he was dealt and the situation he put himself in due to drugs now that hes sober its a night and day difference and when he talks recovery and tells his story he has such a positive outlook on life and you know hes legit sober.
Agreed. Reynolds is one of my favorite examples as well. He even said it himself that sobriety was played a key part in his Baker 3 part having twice the amount footage compared his previous non sober parts.
When I was so used to being stoned for years, getting sober was almost like a new high. There was a sudden rush of happiness and creativity after my body detoxified. I have to admit though I was a better writer when I was using.
Big 3ye dude are you talking about weed like it's a horrible drug? I was a heroin addict for three years and I've dealt with an opiate addiction for the last 8 years. Now that I'm sober I can tell a massive difference in myself. If you only smoked weed then I can tell you right now that you have no idea what it's like to be an addict
For people who smoke weed all day, every day, for years, getting sober is a big change. After a few weeks they feel totally different and a lot better. If you quite heroin...then smoke your weed bro. If it helps you stay clean. I know the deal. I did H and every other drug too and I smoke weed now, but clean from everything else too. For a huge pot head though, getting clean is a big deal.
I personally disagree with your opinion. I think when he was under the influence a lot during the Stay Gold filming phase his skating had a sketchy yet easy on the eyes style that I never really seen from KSL. I understand the whole get sober for a better and healthier lifestyle and he said himself he had to do it to really focus on skating and get back on the right track. I just liked when he was faded he landed his tricks with that little sketchy steeeze that I like. Thank you for your comment though it was a good starting point for some solid debate. I appreciate you man.

B-Sides are always better than the regular part. Its enjoyable watching a pro fail over n over n having to come back to a spot for a trick rather than just seeing a bunch of first try tricks to a song I dont like.

605 Skate Krew I think that was around the time he was getting his style and trick selection down, if you look at his part before that, the Emerica This Is Skateboarding. You can definitely tell the difference in his skating.
