  • This is me trying to be funny about serious things. I think we've all faced one and mostly likely more of these problems!
    Books featured: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and books mentioned: I am Number Four by Pittacous Lore, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and Eragon by Christopher Palioni.

    This is hilarious! I lent my mum a book recently and she's still not even started it! I've read 5 books since then! 😩

      Lauren Burns The same thing happens when I lend books to my mom. It drives me nuts because I want to know what she thought of it!

    Your dog looks like a fox! Soooo cute! Also, I have a super long to be read list and what I do is write down the title of all the books I want to read, cut them out on paper, fold them in half, put them in a plastic bag, shake it up and randomly pull one out. Which ever one I pull out is the one I read.

    OMG Tilly!! This is exactly how I felt about The Book Thief. It took me weeks to finally start a new book.

    MOVIE ADAPTATIONS !!! I am always very thrilled to know that one of my favorite books is being turned into a movies, but the movies are always different than the books which sucks!! but I gotta live with it >> .. also the ultimate question of "what to read next" is the story of my life

    I am a bookworm through and through, too.
    And you're reight, the worst thing is a reading slumb ... but the feeling when opening a great new book and the the feeling of slowly falling into love with the story and characters makes up for it!! Happy reading :)

    What's even worse, you recommend your favorite book and they don't like it. They just couldn't "get into it" and it was "kinda boring." that hurts the heart like no other.

    • @ruuuuuskimychica
      @ruuuuuskimychica Před 9 lety

      Yes! You want ask them are they missing their sense of adventure,wonder, and appreciation of an amazing story? And the never lend them your favorites because they hurt the last book's feelings.

    This was great and definitely can relate right now, I read both 1984 and Animal Farm this month and just can NOT get into anything else for the life of me. Also I must add finally getting your hands on a book only to realise it's been over-hyped and you hate it :P

    Don’t forget when someone tries to talk to you when you’re reading and when your trying to ignore them and concentrate, they’ll say “Are you even listening to me?” Or “Stop reading and listen to me” 🙄

    When you mentioned shitty movie adaptations, all I could think was "The Mortal Instruments!!" So disappointed in that movie..
    Also, I'm still angry at The Book Thief because it was so good and heartbreaking. Very angry.

    Book advice: I need some help cause I used to read self-help books by Norman Vincent Peale and more. I like the Hobbit and related books. Please help me to read more, suggestions like RPG or adventure stuff the witch wardrobe & I forget? Thanks book adviser.

    • @noxperpetuo796
      @noxperpetuo796 Před 8 lety

      +Robert Wilber If you like the Hobbit, try...
      Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin (Extremely violent, twisted and political fantasy with very little magic and a lot of blood and guts.)
      Any book from the Earthsea Cycle, such as: A Wizard of Earthsea, by Ursula K. Le Guin (Lots of subtle magic, dragons and interesting people, but not extremely violent.)
      Any book from the Foundation Series, which starts with Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov. (Political and strange, with a story that spans the rise and fall of civilizations, and covers the eb and flow of history.)
      The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe is a book in the Narnia series by C. S. Lewis. If you are a Narnia fan, as I am, I suggest The Magician's Nephew (a prequel to The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe) and The Horse and His Boy (one of the later books in the series) or the final book in the series, The Last Battle.
      A lot of Narnia fans also enjoy the books from the Wrinkle in Time series, especially the classic children's fantasy book, A Wrinkle in Time.
