- THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived at Nausori Airport this afternoon following a three-day visit to Fiji.
Upon their arrival 100-men guard of honor was performed by the officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
Fijian Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama and Cabinet ministers were present to officially welcome the royal couple.
As the motorcade departed the airport thousands of Fijians stood by the roadside waved their flags to welcome the Royal couple.

@Frank Banimarama I lived in Suva for 5 years, my youngest child was born there. I returned to NZ in 1984. I miss the friendly people and the delicious local food - and the warm climate, but not the hurricanes! I wish the best for Fiji and all her people.

Fiji, now a republic, but having been one of the late Queen's realms, really seems to know how to welcome the Royal visitors.
Some might lambaste it is a colonial vestige, but it is beautiful to see the royal traditions and protocols fitted into the Pacific culture.
