Susanna Yoko Henkel - violin Stefan Milenkovich - violin Guy Ben-Ziony - viola Giovanni Sollima - cello Monika Leskovar - cello Zagreb International Chamber Music Festival 2008
Bella esecuzione !
I'm 78 now, listened to and played a lot of classical music among which by Schubert, as I was saying at 78 I'd never heard this adagio. I stumbled on it becuase of some viewer of the movie on the Wannsee Conference in which it played a part
Schubert's passionate and beautiful string quintet led by the beautiful and passionate Yoko Henkel, what more could you want. All of the ensemble are top class and look as if they are enjoying the occasion.
so emotional - I can scarely breathe and thinking of my late brother-in-law, Guido Ajmone-Marson, who died in 2014. This is his memory, so much worshipped.
Played this when I was on a student week-end break and loved it (we did the Mendelssohn Octet too!). My teacher said she'd never heard the slow movement played that slowly and kept waiting for it to come adrift, but it worked, as did this brilliant performance.
What else can you say. You feel the big Boom of Creation and the Whole Vibrations of the Universea that tear your heart apart. Makes it one whole Soul with the Creator sitting on Thy Mighty knees (If one is allowed to say so)...
I completely understand Stravinsky whom I absolutely respect and love. This piece is a prayer to Dionysos, the god of tragedy and clensing. This prayer relieses the soul of aĺl the sins. Accompanied with a glass of wine, will be my last wish before I die in peace!....
"Conspiracy" brought me to know this sublimely elegant music
With such eternal turmoil in the world, how can man find the spirit to create such an evocative and visceral piece of music
A wonderful sweet piece of music from Franz Schubert very well performed by the String Quintet. I listened to it many times
Music that talks to the Soul
The last word ..
Beautifully played, absolutely perfect rendition. Bravo!
Tears the heart out.
From Lapland to Libya,
From Vladivostok to Belfast...
MORE Schubert...
I cannot hear this music without thinking of that movie.
What the heck ?, is this now a *de facto standard holocaust music* ?

The best version I've ever heard! The second movement is masterful.

My fav. recording of this quintet.

Bravo…
What beautiful passion!
Beautiful performance. Thank you
Fantastic performance!!!
The best of the best !
Part of the Inspector Morse soundtrack The Magic of Inspector Morse. beautiful and serene
The musicians treat this piece with the reverence and spiritual intensity it so deserves.
simplemente inmortal

Beautiful ! Mesmerising

Perfeição!
Fabulous!
Bravo!!!
Wonderful
Music of the spheres. Stravinsky said he wanted the first notes engraved on his tombstone

Does it tear your heart out?
Awesome reference. Kenneth Branagh at his best.
NO.
Eichmann says so 😁😁
Beautiful sir.
@@bosanpisan nonsense, Eichmann just never understood the passion for Schubert’s sentimental Viennese sh**.
Zo mooi,,,

Way too loud. This is an adagio piece.
The dynamic range specified by Schubert is ppp through ff. Adagio is a tempo indication, not a dynamic.
