    Hello all, thank you so much for dropping in on my video on the new Citroen C4 - my video with the e-C4 will be coming soon. Apologies for the editorial error around 1:12 - I had to put this video together in a rush another video upload had to be cancelled so it's the 'CO' logo flashing up wasn't meant to be there...

      This car should be all about comfort, quietness and calmness, and this review is good because the reviewer was talking about exactly those things. Nowhere did I hear words like “bodyroll”. Bravo!

      @@vjexxx Hi vjexxx, thanks for watching. Yes, I did briefly speak about the handling but it didn't make the edit as I thought it's not really a relevant area for this car. Mind you, there was one viewer who criticised me for not talking about the handling - you can't please everyone!

    Got mine 6 months ago, really really happy with the car, got the diesel 1.5 and its really economic 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers. and really nice quality ride with really nice soundproofing, only thing i regret is i didn't get the automatic, the manual gear changes is really meh.

    It looks great ! It probably won’t be available in Japan before 2021. Let’s hope I ll win in the lottery and be still alive!
    Great video as usual.
    I also enjoyed the “ Ami” video.
    My current C3 ( 2nd génération) is not soooo comfortable or not quiet , but it has enough punch to make driving fun.

    I retract my earlier statement, this car has grown on me, a bit like music and instant hit eventually becomes tiresome to listen to, whereas some songs grow on you the more you listen to them, I think this is what Citroen has served up with improved qualify and refinement.

      I wouldn't say Citroën have been an unreliable brand based on my experiences, I've driven many as taxis owned by myself from the BX, Xantia 1 and 2, Xsara Picasso, C4 Grand Picasso and now a Spacetourer, but as I say I am a bit biased towards the brand.

    I had a Peugeot 308 GT line with that engine. The cambelt runs inside the engine and in the oil and is known to disintegrate clogging the oil galleries and pickup strainer in the sump. Mine suffered two vvt solenoid failures which was my cue to trade it in on something Japanese with a chain driven engine. Many others have suffered loss of oil pressure resulting in engine failure. PSA have a recall in place for over half a million of them from 2013 to 2017. Belts have been upgraded about 4 or 5 times but the jury is still out on whether this will solve the problem. The next gen puretechs are being re-engineered with chain driven cams.

    I have this engine in my daily driver and can confirm its brilliant! I even like its growl. Buyers need to realise that these small turbo 3 cylinder engines are replacing the 1.6 and 1.8 ltr cars in the past. Regarding headroom, I believe this will improve for you post Covid!🤣

    Styling okay, the rear spoiler makes the back end look too fussy. And like you said what is the point of it? It doesn't need downforce. I would have ditched the spoiler in place of a rear wash wipe. It least it would be serving a purpose. 😃

    • @TheMammaAiuto
      @TheMammaAiuto Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, it is not for downforce, it is for drag. This car is super aerodynamic and this spoiler was requisite, for CO2 emissions on ICE versions and for range on EV versions. I'm the designer of this car so you can trust me :)

    I like the look and comfort of this car and am going to replace my car soon (using my own hard earned.) However, I want a car that is going to be reliable long term along with a manufacturer that will give me good customer service. At the moment, along with other French manufacturers Citroen are not offering the aforementioned. The same comment goes to German manufacturers as well. I will stick to Toyota/Honda/Suzuki. A very good review as always thanks.

    Hi I got a question would you take this car over the DS 7 crossback? I test drove both but not sure what to choose. But in terms of the ride comfort do you think it is much better than the DS 7? I remember the ride of the C4 was super smooth because i went over some humps and didn't feel anything but I didn't go over some humps on the DS 7 so my memory of it's smoothness is vague.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  Před 2 lety +1

      They're very similar in regard to comfort, but the DS7 is a larger car.

    • @ninjaninja9954
      @ninjaninja9954 Před 2 lety +1

    Found the test drive boring 😴. I would have like more of a report on how the car handles. You don't get that just being on a dual carriageway motorway🛣 C4 definitely on my list though.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  Před 3 lety +1

      That's fair enough Scott. I did want to speak about the handling, but the test route provided by Citroen did have many dynamic cornering opportunities. Also, I wouldn't have thought too many viewers would be interested in handling as the car is built more for comfort, not cornering. A lot of the route was A roads or dual carriageways with a bit of town driving. Thanks for watching.

      I disagree. I was in the left hand lane the majority of time, not all of that made the edit. In some of the clips you can see me overtaking other cars, going past slip roads, or staying in the appropriate lane to stay on the road (i.e. not coming off at a junction). The way how it's been edited probably makes it look worse than it is, but like many, I despise lane hoggers 🤦‍♂️. Thank you for watching.
