A live, semi-improvised performance, all on hardware, and inspired by the frantic energy of chasing deadlines. It's been a ton of fun to pair up these older Elektron devices, as it shows how each is complementary to the others. The Monomachine and Machinedrum also evoke a certain sound of music for me, from the mid-aughts to early 20-teens. It's also a good reminder that despite the new veneer, the Octatrack is showing its age (in mostly a good way).
Elektron Octatrack MkII - Five samples (four string parts, one high ambience), effects for Monomachine and Machinedrum, master effects and scenes
Elektron Monomachine SFX-60 UW MkII - SID arp, SID bass, high-pass chords, drum finale
Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1 MkII - Drums
Written and performed within a 48-hour period, and uploaded as is, with only a little compression/limiting on the master. Cello sample courtesy of Ian T. Lyckland.

      Yep...
      Octatrack Mk II = 1400
      Monomachine Mk II = 2500
Machinedrum Mk II = about 2000
      So I'm guessing around 6000 to 6500...
This equipment is the best though. I think it would make the backbone of a serious studio or DAWless rig.

I've got a similar setup, octatrack analog rytm and analog four all mk1s for almost 2000 euros. I had the machinedrum and analog rytm for me is more usable, still analog 4 can't beat monomachine in any way. Miss my digitone...

This is thee best combo of the Elektron’s machines. A class apart and ahead of its time.
In 2007 I wanted the Monomachine and Machine drum
I got the Monomachine in 2007 and was lost.
I sent it back to Elektron in two days. 😭😭😭😭
And I still regret it each day. Then there were no videos or support and I knew little of sound synthesis.
Today I miss it in my Elektron Arsenal

It is easy to become dispirited when you see someone do it so well, but I think what's important is that you enjoy what you do yourself and keep learning. I've watched Jay, Ehsan Gelsi, Mr Dataline, etc, all brilliant at what they do, but also great teachers and I've slooowly gotten better to the point my wife no longer takes the P, but actually likes what I do :) Have fun.

This is astonishingly well made, Monomachine and MD are probably my favourite synths ever, the eerie early 00s nostalgia (times I can't remember very well myself due to the fact I was 4yo in 2000, but I think the faded idea I have of that time makes it even more interesting) is captured perfectly here thanks to your programming skills and Elektrons' tone both.
