Kyle, it’s great to see you doing the test ride yourself. Stay well and healthy. I am also interested in the Tenways bikes. This bike is a very popular commuter bike in London and they are known for the great lightweight package that performs above it’s weight class.

It's nice to see you testing more light bikes! As a city dweller I honestly prefer ebikes like these. It's more practical for various reasons and I generally gravitate to my lighter bike over my heavy and powerful ebike.

I'm here to tell you that that kind of bike WORKS. Mine is very similar, although it is a folder with 16" wheels. I was used to 20" folders so that's just fine. Mine also weighs 35lbs, and is a single speed. It has 3 levels, and a throttle I never use. The battery in the frame is only about 7.5Ah, but the motor is 350W. Several times I've gone 75kms on a single charge, including into headwinds and hills here in BC. With the little wheels, it accelerates and brakes very quickly (but doesn't coast that well). But as a single speed I have trouble going over 32km/hr, and so never use level 3 unless I am going up a 10%+ hill. Mine came with a rack and the headlight just above the wheel and the angle is adjustable, so it works as 'be seen' as well as 'see'. I use one of the Bell rechargeable combo steady/blinky/turn signal lights in back. They are about $20 at Walmart. Best news is that the bike only cost me $850 Cdn! I've had it about 30 months, have 10,000 kms on it and have only changed the chain once but the brake pads too many times. I put Schwalbe Marathons on for rolling resistance and durability. I have three other bikes, but guess which one I use every day! I am convinced that small and light is the way to go with e-bikes. I can still carry 75 lbs of groceries.

Nope.. Can't go with a bike that weighs less than my battery and beer.😎 thanks for showing though brother 👏👏. How about a 3,000 watt 72V upgrade on that bike? Nice to dream. Karen loves it as is!

Maybe if it had tail lights, was geared, and had a throttle, I would be interested but, those are what I'm looking for with an eBike, amongst other things. I wouldn't be able to carry it no matter if it weighs 35 or 95#, it's more important that it can carry weight, at least 300+#.
Great job on the review Kyle, glad to see your able to get out and ride it yourself for a change.

This looks like a straight copy of the Ride1Up V2 Gravel Roadster, which costs a lot less. Please,I beg you, a comparison. I've been thinking the V2 Roadster is the perfect commuter in the city and am very tempted to trade in my Ride1Up 700.

    Kyle:
Similar bike with gears and more bells and whistles is the Velotric Thunder 1. Cost about the same. Take a look.
Would probably climb better with the gears, but uses chain instead of belt. Some really interesting features!

I would like to know how hills feel on that? I use normal bike for going to work and to hoppies. 10-40km a day. I have this in mind sence i still wanna pedal and mainly use it in city area. Only thing i am worried is can i still go slight uphill with my guitar on my back with out gears?

Hi Kyle, the Tenways website says that the hub motor on the US version is 350W whereas the EU version is 250W.
