- My arrangement of this traditional French Christmas carol. The tune is a dance called a "ritournelle," dating from the 1500's. played on a Ed Claxton Malabar in DGDGAD tuning.
Important NOTE: If you are trying to follow along with my arrangement of this tune from my book "A DADGAD Christmas", you'll find this video confusing - this is an older version using DGDGAD tuning, not DADGAD! I rearranged the tune for the book, and while it's similar, the fingerings have changed. In some ways, I think the DADGAD arrangement in the book is a bit cleaner, since it was a second pass at the tune. - Hudba
I’ve done this song in standard tuning but without the harmonics. I love your arrangement! I found your book, A DADGAD Christmas, and I’ve ordered it to relearn a lot of the Christmas carols I play in DADGAD. I’ll be working on them throughout next year to have them ready for Christmas 2023.
Beautiful 😍
This dude is sick👌🏾👌🏾
Lovely! One of my most-treasured carols.
Pure Magic to my ears....
Merry Christmas, Doug.

That's some big, rich sound coming out of what looks like a pretty small bodied guitar. Quite lovely.

This sounds gorgeous in guitar!!! Thank you for playing/sharing this beautiful piece!!! And informative video intro too :) Thanks so much ^^
so so beautiful! thank you for sharing!
Must agree with the others. Very beautiful!
@StumptownBoy The guitar is sort of a OO size, with the body volume of OO 1/2 if I recall correctly. Ed Claxton makes amazing guitars.
