Man they could make him move a electric wheelchair next before having an exoskeleton that he could use to move normally ! And control a Tesla bot to help him up! Insaneeeee
I'm not knowledgeable on his condition, but is it safe for him to move around a lot even if he could control an exoskeleton or something that supports his body? Like not sure how long he needs to be still for with his condition if it will overstimulate him (by not sitting in one place), but I guess the neuralink is healing him too? does he not need as much sleep now? cuz he mentioned staying up all night playing that Civilization game lol xD
@@phen-themoogle7651most people with paralysis would have to build up endurance and flexibility for that type of movement. You couldn't pop him into an exoskeleton and expect him to be able to function. Being able to just stand in a stander an hour a day is usually exhausting for those that cannot walk or stand on their own, and they have to be careful of blood clots and swelling and things like that. Also, there's the matter of spasticity and contractures. These are things that would have to be managed in order to gain any sort of normal movement. Like, if my daughter was put in a device that made her legs move in a walking motion, it would probably just break her legs because her joints are so stiff. I think exoskeleton type devices will be useful for many, but the road to using them will not be simple for the vast majority of paralyzed people. It would take months, or even years, of specialized physical therapy to acclimate their bodies.
@@phen-themoogle7651he doesn’t actually need to stay still since unfortunately the damage is already done and unless we are speaking about another future tech jump in biomedical field he will never be able to recover from his injury :’( so I truly hope he will get an exo to move around.
@@glaeli1184 I think the hope is to bridge that damage and connect the nerves electronically instead of trying to fix the spine.
So i could imagine that something like an exo with receivers connecting his upper and lower spine would allow him to move his arms and legs like normal.

Neuralink has an amazing future! It’ll definitely change the medical as well as the interface and computing industry whenever whole brain interface becomes a reality. One of my personal favourites will be full immersion VR gaming with all sensory perception. It’ll be an easily achievable feat obviously after AGI.

My god. One of the most incredible technological breakthroughs in human history and how is it presented? With a vertically shot video image, and subtitles in the same language the guy is speaking, like some 15 year old Tik Toker 🙄.
English subtitles over English audio is normal thing and should be a standard, of course preferably as an on/off option. Majority of English speakers are not native English speakers, just as reminder. It should be obvious for most who speak with more than one language.

I will admit openly that your suffering seems to me as an example of overreacting in a style of "why would people need english subs under english audio?!" and "I don't need subtitles why others would?". Which comes down to lack of awareness and/or acceptance that minds of other people might function in a bit different ways than your own.

Paul, to answer your question. It's called a brain? it sends electrical like signals through your nerves to let your muscles know when its time to contract and release. neuralink has the abillity to read those signals. even tho he cant move his body because his muscles and verves are disconnected. but his brain was still sending those signals therefore neuralink and his hair think like cables are able to read those and possibly reconnect the nerves and make him able to walk again.

If the neurological pathways still work in his body it can be possible that he will get receiver chips installed and the AI will translate his thoughts into the right stimulants to move his arms and legs again without the help of synthetic limbs.

@@dot_zithmu I think it will be a bit of a problem though because of latency. But AI might compensate by automatically giving general instructions not to fall over or so. But that is kinda scary since your body will be micro-corrected by AI and not only by your own brain! I still hope that there will be pure biological breakthroughs for paralysed people. Or maybe with nanorobots repairing the spinal cord to its original state.
