Idk around the time of year they went but the northern hemisphere is tilted more towards the sun in the summer so the sun is going to feel more intense. In certain spots. I was just in Alaska and during solstice, it would only be 70 out but feel like 80 lol I live in Florida too. But I was born and raised in Alaska

I recommend going to brela in Croatia instead of split bc it’s better for swimming I’ve visited twice at blue sun hotels it’s great!!! Right on the beach!
