- The mother of missing Briton Jay Slater has said donations will be used to support volunteers helping to find her son in Tenerife.
The 19-year-old, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, disappeared after setting off to walk back to his accommodation on the holiday island on June 17.
The Sun’s senior news reporter Paul Sims joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

They’ve spent, and are still spending, 3+ weeks looking in an area purely on the say-so of, 1. a convicted CLASS A drugs dealer who works on Tenerife but strangely hires an AirBnB for a few days, 2. his mate (who wants to keep his identity secret), 3. the camera-shy sister of the AirBnB owner (who some say is a well-dodgy ex-mayor), 4. Lucy, who is also camera-shy even though she’s all over F/B and I/G living the high life and whose family supposedly own a place on the island yet she herself has on one occasion booked the AirBnB, and 5. Brad, who suddenly came out with information 2-3 weeks after Jay’s disappearance and who finds it impossible to make eye contact with a tv interviewer.

There all covering up.. this case has so many rabbit holes. My personal belief from everything I’ve watched and read is that there wasn’t a watch it was drugs. He got too messed up in the club didn’t have his wits about him and lost the bag. From there he got himself into the crappy situation. Lucy is definitely involved that women thrives on thinking she is the next big king pin and passing herself around to Moroccans. Just remember she left early and left jay by himself.. she made it well known on social media that she was in for an early night.. I’m sorry but she doesn’t strike me as the girl who wants to go to a 3 day music festival for an early night. I feel bad for jay man were all a product of our environment. He made some bad choices, hung around with some bad people, abit like myself I must of been around 25 when I started to get myself together.. he still a kid don’t care if people think he a man cause he 19. He was supposed to have time to evolve into a better man like many people have. No matter what he did he didn’t deserve to die over it.

It seems that all the people who holidayed with him are liars and strangers to the truth.
Jay's family must be so desperate to find their son. I have read what some people's post. It's just really shows how heartless people can really be. I would hope the same persons passing judgment and saying alsorts, how would they feel if it was there brother, loved one or family how they would feel.
Rather than people ask for prays or call to others to pray for his return and for strength for his family rather than being unkind.

Nobody has (yet) mentioned it, but here is a barranco (gorge) that leads directly from Masca to a small beach. There is a jetty for tourist boats to tie-up. In peak season there are tourist boat trips from nearby Puerto de Santiago to hike up the gorge. It's a tough climb up, but far easier coming down.
Loads of people have mentioned that. At the time there was a boat -the naruba, docked, and it left shortly after the alleged text/call from jay.
I guess you're talking about the Barranco de Masca (it ends in a beach that even has a tiny pier). Jay took the another one going West (he was walking to the left). It was the Barranco de Juan López, which is a more difficult gorge to walk through. There are lots of reviews on Google stating how difficult it is to travel through it. Apparently, it starts kind of easy but after 5-10 minutes of walking cactus and vegetation become denser and they partially cut your way.
@@georgezee5173 Yes I was referring to Barranco de Masco. I think the jetty has recently been refurbished (the beach was closed for some years when jetty got damaged in a storm). I guess he could have strayed down the wrong barranco .... or led down it to the sea and waiting boat.
I always felt he went off to another island.
