Not being funny, but Gladiator is the best film ive ever watched in my opinion. The mix of music, emotion and history is really breath taking. Russel Crowe portrayed his character so well.
Mr Anderson I feel like it's done on purpose to emphasise the hectic battle scenes. Take the opening battle for example, the way it blurs plays on the whole 'fog of war'/battle haze etc, everything is manic. In that sense the way it was captured was really quite good. Having said that, I would have loved for the opening battle to be much longer and detailed.
I had no problems with the opening battle, I thought that was quite good. But in the gladiator fight scenes where there's only 4 people max. You could barely see anything. It might just be personal preference, but I prefer to see what's going on and appreciate the strategy.
