I love how they made so many items that island designers were trying to mimic. It's so cool, castle walls, ruins, more trees,plants. The food items,buffets,cafés. The possibilities are endless. I'm also a huge fan of the vines. The cliff faces were so bare and you can climb and diy!
Not only are the froggy chairs back, but you can customize them... it's too good.

Welcome mats and outdoor rugs are both things I have outside my irl house.
I think the mannequin on the floor is supposed to be for a hospital. I think it's a teaching mannequin for either chest compression or defibrillator practice.

Yeah, the mannequin is either for that (Mikayla mentioned chest compression or defibrillator practice) or for CPR.
People practice on a mannequin when they’re learning/practicing CPR. Just a guess since it looks like it’s laying down on the floor vs on a bed. Who knows, maybe we could actually place it on a bed for the hospital setups =O

Also, you said the ruined items only come from HHP? Not true, I got a ruined pillar DIY thing from a boat tour island that had some vines. I love the vines
I'm SO happy for all the new furniture, it just feels like I can never find much of it! I have to time travel a lot just to get a handful of items.
I can give you some if you want, I got alot that I don't really use or have double of
a lot of them are unlocked by going pretty far into the HHP DLC
If you have the DLC and talk to Wardell, he offers a catalog of all (or most of) the items you have unlocked when decorating the facilities/houses. The catalog is set up like the Nook Shopping app and there is a limit of 5 items per day. I randomly discovered it so I’m not exactly sure how it unlocks.. maybe you have to spend a certain amount of poki. There are also exciting Paradise Planning items in the catalog too

I think the "apple bobbing" item might be a hot spring bath with yuzu floating in them! And if I'm correct, it might be on sale as a seasonal item for the winter solstice!

i love the cute plaza bench, there's finally a pastel bench that looks like it'd fit outside (since there are some adorable sofas better for indoors already) on my island so i can yeet all the white iron benches.
I’m glad they had some items with horror islands in mind, if not as the main style then atleast a customized version of, like the ruined castle walls.
with the HHP, if you design a house for a special character, their photo will appear in your catalog for builds there. i don’t know if you can get them on your main island…
After making a house for Isabelle Lottie sent me Isabelle’s photo in the mail so I’m assuming it’s the same for the other special characters
I designed a vacation home for Celeste and Lottie sent me her photo the next day too.
12:07 I believe that to be a CPR dummy/mannequin which could work in a first aid training program, maybe in a hospital.
the tub with lemons is the "Bathtub with Yuzu." I think i saw it in the nook shopping under seasonal items. It's a Japanese winter solstice item. I've literally spent hours playing happy home designer xD I'm up to the hospital at this point. And some of these items you can gain access to for designing with. And some are only available on the resort island. So some of these items are only available in the shop over there. But ,later you do get the ability to exchange poki for bells and vice versa I believe. It's not a flat rate sadly it fluctuates like turnips.
The new clover shaped door plate says welcome in gaelic! I'm so surprised they would use my language and not a more commonly known one! I'm super excited to get that doorplate now!
I'm really sad that they didn't bring back the Creepy Coffin for some reason. They brought back the Skeleton, Cauldron and it seems like they brought back the Crystal with an updated design, but they left out the Coffin which was the one I wanted the most, as well as the statue, clock, the two headstones and the wallpaper/rug. Would have been great to have for Halloween and spooky themed islands.
These new items are so good though, they make me greedily want more. The carnival items, the Torii gate and all the new farm items were the things I wanted most, so I was overjoyed to get them.

The laying down mannequin looks sort of like a CPR dummy they use in BSL classes. Maybe for the HHP hospital?
Part of me truly hopes, even though it's unlikely, that they were bluffing when they said this would be the last unpaid big update T_T getting all these new things only makes me want more LMAO and I still don't have a hairstyle that looks like mine IRL..!
My wife is making a garden center so we are waiting to get all the shop stands and other garden center type items 👍

I think the anniversary cake is there because it's functionality got updated. I noticed the other day while going through my catalog that it now has the edible food item icon (the dish tray, rather than the leaf icon)
Also, I believe that "fallen mannequin" is actually a CPR dummy.

It’s so nice to go into the shop and see new items. For a while it felt like I was seeing the same thing over and over again. I’m also liking Sable’s new pattern type “Variety.” I think it came with the Custom Design Pro Editor + but I could be wrong on that because sometimes I do some button mashing 😅 I just noticed it today while customizing a client’s vacation home. Bob’s Gang!
You can get NPC photos by designing them a vacation home, it’ll get sent to you via mail (I designed one for K.K. and got his photo in the mail the next day)
I think the “fallen mannequin” may be a Resusci-Annie sort of thing - a dummy for teaching artificial respiration. Would be great in a hospital build! (Or perhaps it’s a patient in the hospital?)

I used it as a dead body about to be buried behind Puddle’s house. All because of the one time she mentioned about taking walks so that she knows the best spots to hide things.
I wish there was an icon next to things in storage for what Cyrus can customize. Only to find out once you take things out, it can't be.
I like how there’s so much new and good variety and mechanics and even more new methods now we can more ideas even for Nookazon
I've got from the carusel,bench and train stuff all the pastel ones but my island is cottage core 😃and my fairy/Pastell core friend got the "black" ones
this happened with me and my brother too, even though his island has dark theme his nook items are pastel and vice versa 😭

I got Gulliver and other special character photos mailed to me from Lottie after I used their amiibos in the DLC to design them a house.
Omg the jars are adorable. I’m throwing out all my old furniture and redoing the entire house 🤣. This update has just made this a whole new game again. So excited for everyday to see what new things I have in store.

So excited about those wearable swords. Ive been wearing the wood backpack and canvas backpack in almost every outfit since I first got them, so finally having something I’ll want even more is very exciting! Also Bobs gang 🥵💦
Not sure if anyone has commented this but you usually unlock posters by uploading the amiibo on harv’s island in photopia. That then give you the ability to order the poster from nook shopping.
I wish the western theme set made a comeback. But I'm super excited for the cactus at least. It's gonna look great on my western island

I love the plush items so much! I love plushes in real life so its nice to express that better in AC as well.
Not a big fan of the baby items though. It seems creepy to me.

@@falconeshield also, I bet a lot of these furniture items probably got added thinking about hhp and the villager house reforms. The furniture is useful for a lot of the kangaroo villagers since the female ones have their babies with them. I've found 2 femalr kangaroos in hhp so far and both themes were parenthood oriented so it makes sense to have that.
I do agree with op that the clothes for our characters do seem extrangely weird. I know they can be used humorously but a lot of them kinda unsettle me.
Acnh has very very very high diverse for age. It's crazy popular in my opinion..

I’ve done a fare few houses while playing the dlc and everything you unlock through building villagers homes can be bought from Wadell after a certain amount of houses
I believe the only way to get the special character pictures is through HHP. I've read that villagers will sometimes gift you their photo in the DLC content.
I got Digby and Lottie pictures mailed to me the day after I made vacation homes for them via amiibo.
I think the "lying down mannequins" are CPR dolls for the hospital theme? I think????
The way you get the special photos is by creating a house in hhp for them (for example, if you make a home for Celeste you get her photo in the mail)
I'm remaking my island to a city core + pastel core this was really usefull so i could know that there is more items for city core!

Honestly, that's the perfect word to describe this last update; OVERWHELMING. 😆
Even after I've finally gotten a sort of daily routine going to ensure I've done my projects (gyroid collecting, foraging/harvesting, market donations, etc.) I still have so much else to do in terms of redecorating the island and my home.
And with 9000+ items it's gonna be a while to figure out how to move things around.
But thankfully most of my theme is pretty easy to work with for the most part, so when and if I finally get things the way I want, it'll be ready to visit in the future. 😁

I got Jack's photo by making him a house on HHP via inviting him with an amiibo, maybe that's how you get the other special character photos too.
I think what they updated about the anniversary cake is the fact that it’s now a dish and therefore edible 🤗 like it’s an actual cake now and not an item.

I really really love the castle parts, but I checked how much bells/ Poki they cost and they are hella expensive 😩time to start grinding sea creatures and homes in hhp
you can probably get the new villager photos through the dlc, since you get to use the photo and poster of every person you build a happy home for. You can use the amiibos to get all the old character's homes.
I got Pelly's from doing her home in the DLC. I assume the non villagers are all gotten that way
Oh I think I know how to get the npc photos, with the dlc hhp once you unlock the VIP villagers( kk slider, Timmy and Tommy, etc) once you complete a house for them you get a photo sent by Lottie in your mail box back on your main island the next day.

I have put Pine Trees and a Volcano on my island for reasons.
Pine trees: Mostly near Moss, because the bottoms look like Moss.
Volcano: I put it near my Stony area, and the Volcanos are mostly stone

Crossing, it is through amiibos that you can get those photos. Go to harvs island and invite the NPC you want through amiibo, and then you can access their poster. Not sure about the item frames though

Saw the elegant bed in my nook shop this morning. Easily 64,000 bells. Hope that helps give a scale
I put the donation box with my wedding pavilion and I think it's really cute there because most people want money to start their new lives together.
I don't know if there are other ways to get them, maybe through the roost or something, but I've gotten some NPC photos by designing them vacation homes in HHP!!
This is my second animal crossing game, my first one being happy home designs (not happy home paradise) and this game has sat really well with me
Sadly the froggy chair doesn't make the croaking noise when you sit on it like it used to in the other games

the fact that it shows that the developers were looking at everyone's builds before the update, taking notes and applying it to this update to give the player base what they actually want is just +chef's kiss+
I finally pulled the trigger and restarted my island. I had a 5 star, but I felt so bored. I felt like version 2.0 was the perfect time to do it! I can't wait to play the new game!
From what I can gather, you get the photos of special characters by doing a house for them. I just got Isabelles photo in the mail since I made her house yesterday
the special character pictures are from making that character a home via, amiibo cards. I got one of niko from making him a home
