I am dying on this hill, he is definitely the most accountable, he said nothing wrong even this stream. It's not the character tbh. While I'll admit that tier lists for Mario Kart 8... Vary _greatly_ there are some consistencies within the general rankings. *Link is solidly an A Tier character.* Decent all around but he doesn't not have anything that's truly broken. *Diddy Kong is generally considered S tier or high A so overall he's usually considered to be better than Link.* The only thing you can really say Leland isn't capitalizing on is his Kart. At this point in the game you can't universally use the same Kart on every character and perform the same meaning many characters are only optimized with more specific Kart set ups. I don't know what Leland's set up is but I'm willing to bet that it is not optimal on Diddy. In Mario Kart even at their current level of skill you wont be able to close out the race in 1st unless you've always got around 8-10 coins with a nonoptimal Kart. *Leland also plays the game with **_zero_** unnecessary risk so it's much easier to play around him than everyone there.* When push comes to shove Ben gets desperate then starts throwing out items even if irrationally and he might take shortcuts or boosts. Mark locks in and focuses on getting as much speed as possible while straight up taking whoever he hits with an item out of the race. Dylan is plotting on how to make it into 1st from the very start and Desmond locks in by trying not to make anymore mistakes _(he's starting to become solid at that)._ I think if Leland wants to get better he needs to start making YOLO plays and take more shortcuts.
Monitor Des is still tapping into the full extent of his newfound power. What's holding him back is his Vegeta rage.
Ben and Mark really switched places since now Mark is the one consistent with his placing when it used to be Ben Kart right after the Leland arc.

That's because Mark is currently the main antagonist or heel right now while Ben, Des, and Dylan are the protagonists. Leland can either be the secondary protagonist that will regain relevance during the power creep.
