- This video is a bit different. Just wanted to share some thoughts and ideas around a day that can sometimes not be so easy for some of us. I wanted to document my day, to share it with my people, and to talk more freely on camera about who I am. I hope you enjoy :)

Alec, I have been following you since the beginning. I love watching your videos not only for the car stuff, but for your honesty and openness about your life and your feelings. I am glad you and your little buddy are getting away for the day and having some fun. I can really relate to your thoughts about not having many friends. I had dozens of friendss as a kid, but I will turn 75 soon and have only two or three friends that I feel comfortable sharing my most private thoughts with. I am gratful for them. Hey Alec, looks like you had the best birthday! I wanted to say thank you for teaching me personally so many things for e46. It gave me the courage to replace my power steering fluid , reservoir and both hoses connected to reservoir. I also will do my control arm bushings next, with the help of Bavauto's control arm bushing tool. Test drive has been postponed , it got dark. I will say I prefilled the large hose and it eliminated any visual air bubbles and the reservoir dip said I am at perfect level. This is my first project on the e46! Thank you again. Your the man!
That was my first job in it too! And now I've done serpentine belt and tensioner, radio & speakers, oil change, filters, disa valve, and thermostat. Next up - valve cover 😬

Happy birthday! I feel we have lots in common especially with the friendship circle aspect. I also have moved to a different location leaving my past behind me and trying bigger and better things while trying to be the best version of myself each and every day not only for me but for my family. I’m in my early 30’s married with a toddler and enjoying every bit of being a father for the 1st time. Happy Birthday Alec, I feel the same, I'm socially just stuck within a small bounds of people, maybe 1-4 peeps occasionally....for me it's sad and lonely. But I choose to keep it small however not as small as life is giving/offering me but maybe there's a reason behind it. All I can say is I'm a loner majority of the time because I'm so disappointed in the way friends, family and life has turned out but I'm keeping positive 😊. Have an amazing day Bud.

I went through a similar struggle last year when I was about to turn 30 as well, so I really relate; I even find comfort in your words. Sup Alec, first of all, happy b-day man. Some thoughts I had while watching your video man.
I think we all at some point have some trouble facing our own mortality and what our purpose is in this world and this life. One thing that certainly helped with this topic was having my kids, man. For some strange reason, it felt like a huge weight lifted off of my chest. Like, I didn't needed to pursue so much stuff in life, I didn't need to keep up with the Joneses anymore, just providing for my kids and do the best for them. Or maybe I just don't have nearly as much time to dwell in stuff now, who knows 🤣
Another thought... I wouldn't mix every kind of content in your channel. I'm here for the car stuff, and I'm guessing many people are. I would suggest creating separate channels for the separate topics. I have an aviation channel (oh yeah, I have my private pilot's license too), and I created a separate channel for that. I have this one which is my personal channel, and I'm creating another one for car stuff. I think that makes most sense.
Cheers and take it easy man, don't be hard on yourself. The idea of finding cars to bring back up to life to give away is great, if you could continue on that, would be really nice.

I'm way late but hope you enjoyed your birthday! I'm joining the discord now and found your channel last night. We have so much in common it's kind of odd. I'm waiting and training to become a firefighter here in Columbus Ohio, I just acquired a 05 e60s 525i, close in age, and don't have many people I call friends. Your right though man, it's hard to find people that are worth your time and are actually friends!
Do nothing work related as you spoke at the beginning it soo important! When I did 30 a few years ago (I'm 35 now) I was so immerse in work and adult life, worked directly with my dream job (cars involved), had hundreds of friends, party every weekend, business trips, international car shows and all. But was tired 24/7, no time to rest, depressed, took no time to feel the grief from my mom's passing away a few years earlier and it was taking a toll. Now I'm back at my dad's place my sunny beach hometown after a huge turnaround.
I've commented in one video before that I came to your channel for the bms and stayed for the awesome vibe. Stay safe and happy birthday!

Have you ever considered that you might be on the autistic spectrum? Your discussion about your relationships with friends made me think you might be.
I was diagnosed with ADD ADHD when i was young, but i dont exactly buy into that idea of western medicine as an adult. They tried medication to keep me focused and the negative side effects really did more harm than good, i think we all just need to find what interests us and focus on that. So to answer your question, possibly! I just think of myself as unique and call it a day :)
