Wow Sojourner has similar experience to me. I taught in South Korea as a English teacher and had a taste of the Coast Guard Boot Camp upon coming back to the states. I was hoping to go the medical route in the USCG and decided upon a MPH to make that possible and join the USPH (I also did FEMA Corps briefly while finishing up my MPH). I have yet to apply for the USPH and I am now thinking of simply doing social work on a clinical basis in the Arab world primarily the GC countries (Gulf Countries). I need to look further into how I can go that route. Fortunately, I have my MPH in Global Health. Currently applying for a MSW. God willing I can start that sooner rather then later.

I am a licensed social worker who has failed the FSOT 3 times :( I can look into this instead! Will watch with an open heart and mind

Cheering you on! Also, there may be other opportunities with the government where you can take your valuable and needed social work skills overseas. Look into specialist programs too. The world definitely needs YOU!

Excellent interview! I'm finding it difficult to discover comprehensive information on international social work as someone interested in joining the field, and this video was very helpful. Thank you!

Hey Ms. Traveler! I recently discovered your content and I love it! As someone who would love to go into foreign service, specifically become a Public Diplomat, I am applying for the Rangel Fellowship. I am feeling a bit discouraged due to not being accepted last year. As a former Rangel Fellow, do you recommend any tips when it comes to my personal statement? I love your videos!

Hey Tasfia! I am cheering you on. I made a video about the personal statement here: czcams.com/video/vU0kEeXt-QM/video.html

Hello hello! Thank you for the post. Is there a way to contact Sojourner via email or social media? I am in my final semester in Psychology Undergrad and am thinking of going for an MSW. Her story and path of going abroad sounds like something I am looking into. Thank you!
