ahhh first reply!
Ya had this for part 1 it was nice that ya combined it with part 2
Red Sails in The Sunset is an album by Midnight Oil the Aussie band which came out in 1984. The cover of the album is a painting of Sydney harbor after a nuclear attack.
so when they were in Russia taking down the Demi dogs and the demogorgon at the end he used the sword from Conan the one with Arnold to slay the Beast plus theSilent Hill like Music after the breach and it raining Ash and The Cabin in the Woods that they found all beat up totally reminded me from the cabin from Evil Dead not to mention the whole Nancy to Freddy Krueger reference and the comic book that he referenced is actually a call back to the Phoenix also when Max got out of the dream she tore a piece of vecna shoulder which was also a Freddy Krueger reference I think vecna lookd like a repainted Swamp Thing if you paint Vecna green he looks just like the Swamp Thing
Eddie guitar scene was one of the best moments in stranger things season 4
I agree. I had been excited about that scene ever since we saw just a split second of it in the trailer.
Agreed. There was so much speculation about what he was playing too, whether it was a song to save Nancy etc. I'm glad it was just him going full metal!
when Eddie plays Master of Puppets, I lost my shit. That may have Trumped the ending of episode 4 of my favorite part of the season
The Eddie scene also gave me Brutal Legend vibes. Perhaps unintentional, but he reminded me of the Jack Black character in the game.
One of the best moments in all of stranger things I think. Top 10 for sure
You all missed Hopper using the Atlantean Sword from Conan to decapitate the Demogorgon at the end of the season finale. A bit of a small thing so I was surprised I even caught it.
One thing that bothers me is where TF did the sword come from? I never saw Hopper interact with it beforehand.
@@markalken7976 they had that that weapons cache they were allowed to choose from and it was in there. I assume someone else grabbed it at some point and got killed
I thought that looked familiar.
Awesome thanks
@@markalken7976 In episode 7 when the prisoners are grabbing weapons from the cache to fight the demo, you can see one of them grabs that sword. Which is how it ended up on the ground in the pit
Stranger Things season 4 was an absolute masterpiece. The Duffer Brothers set up season 5 perfectly.
By far the best season to date other than season 1. Season 2-3 were good but this was better.
Eddie rocking out to Master Of Puppets is likely my favorite scene from this entire series.
The Master of Puppets was released in 1986, which shows Eddie's metal fervor, the piece was practically new and he already dominated it on the guitar
Did anyone else notice that the school counsellor, that all of Vecna's victims were seeing, was wearing a clock pendant very similar to the grandfather clock in the Creel house?
Maybe she's mind controlled by vecna
I was honestly surprised the councilor didn’t have any attachments to Vecna!
I applaud you for how much you pay attention to the smallest of things, things nearly no one would ever notice!
Yes her necklace is a key with a clock on it and the grandfather clock has a keyhole as most old ones do I’m pretty sure. I find it weird that the victims with the exception of Jason’s friend, all went to Miss Kelly, Jason’s friend could’ve had a talk with her due to the bruising shown on his face indicating a troubled home life. So Miss Kelly knows all the victims darkest secrets and she has the key for Vecnas grandfather clock. I noticed all this in the first part of S4 and was so gutted when nothing came of it at all. I think it will mean something in S5 and if it doesn’t then I’m pretty sure that means the writers were gonna have this sub plot but scrapped it and kept the key pendant as an Easter egg.
@@ErinIsMashed there's still another season. So all is not lost.
When Eddie plays master of puppets, a song about drugs ruining lives, he says before "this is for chrissy" maybe he played it not only cause it's a badass song but because of the songs meaning
good point
Touché on this one.
Here's an interesting fact. The actress that plays Chrissy, Grace Van Dien, is the daughter of actor Casper Van Dien, who played the lead role in Starship Troopers.
I was more impressed she's related to Robert Mitchum.
did you know that maya hawke (Robin ) is the daughter of ethan hawke and Uma Thurman?
@@gypsyrose-qq9nz Yeah, I've known that for a while
I'm devastated by this fact.
I met Casper Van Dien when I was a kid in the late 1990s. He's really cool and was chill but also friendly, kind. He also complimented my baseball cap (it was a South Park alien one) and we spent a few minutes talking about South Park. (I knew he was in Starship Troopers because it had come out like a year before or something but I didn't bring it up because when he pointed out my cap we talked for a few minutes just about South Park instead. Lol.)
In the last episode Dustin was dressed up as a ewok when fighting with the bats.
My favourite egg is when Sullivan says "Quarter and search by twos. Hicks, take the upper level," when his soldiers take over the NINA project compound in episode 8. Gorman's lines from Aliens when they first go into the complex on LV-426 are "Quarter and search by twos. Second team move inside. Hicks, take the upper level. Use your motion trackers."
Glad somebody else noticed this quote too from Aliens....
@@richardhaynes6781 I got it too Aliens is my fav movie. I almost jumped outta my seat.
Same!
Nancy was the girl who Freddy was chasing, right? Movie was set in 1984, show started in 84, hmmm and yea, we get all the cool 80s stuff, I also love the fact Eddie showed the Iron maiden Album Peice of Mind, This is music!
Show started in 1983, but close!
Now if the brothers get Kate Bush to do a cameo on Season 5, that would complete the circle and be epic.
Nice.
what circle ?
Y’all didn’t like that song before this stop
@@TheChuizar22 people didn't know about it, it's different
@@TheChuizar22 Nobody under a certain age and/or British knew it existed. So, what's your point? It's a good song.
Who else teared up when Vecna broke Max when 11 was trying her bloody hardest to help ?.
Meeeeeeeeeeee!😭😭😭
@@tinkerpinkerton5449 That makes you a special human, you must have been a mess watching the ' Kate Bush ', ' running up that hill scene ', I was about the characters age back in the 80's so I remember that song when it 1st came out, that scene was better.
I was tearing when they burned vecna. Vecna was so sweet🥺🥺
@@bjw4859 I was their age then too! Had the album on vinyl. I cried more at Max than Eddie and Eddie is the spit of a friend I had back in the day. Aah, they say nostalgia is a form of madness you know 🤔😁
fun fact that you missed : Eddie has a Bat tattoo (you can see it in episode when they play D&D), this is foreshadowing eddie's fate at the season finale
That's one of the reasons why I love this show. So many pop culture references.
Same! I love how accurate the whole ST universe feels. The presidential signs in the yards, the wallpaper, movies/songs, even the phones. I collect the kind of phone Nancy has in her room, I have a bright pink one in mine and I’ve been searching for a baby blue one since I saw hers again this season☺️
@@lindsay9838 cool. Hope you find it.
What impress me is how Jamie Cambell Bower got the gist of Robert Englund Freddy voice when he's in his Vecna final form to the point Ibthought Englund was voicing the character.
Also Billy's headstone was actually changing IN the trailer passing from Billy to William (or vice-versa) prompting fans to theorised they were 2 parallel "real world" (apart from the upside-down) in season 4.
Yes! I love this. I flipped when I saw Robert Englund in the show and I can't believe people aren't talking about this more. It's brilliant! Also how he uses his hands like Freddie's.
The Robert Englund cameo was amazing
It's true we got a few star wars quotes, but the military invading the lab scene was literally, shot-for-shot the hallway scene from a new hope
I love that line " you touch her again and I'll kill you again" such a gangster line. 11 always has some badass dialogue
You missed the other Star Wars reference in the scene where the soldiers at the Nina lab get in position for battle. This was almost a mirror version of the opening scene in A New Hope
Yeha!
Victor Creel scratching the table was a cool callback to Freddy's signature scratching with his razors.
Vicki’s look at the ammo store was DEFINITELY a Molly Ringwald from Pretty in Pink reference.
I noticed that, too! 🤘🏻
What about when Nancy shot Vecna multiple times with her shotgun, just like Sarah Connor did in Terminator ? That scene was lit.
Surely one of the best seasons of any tv show ever......dont skip that intro!
Steve Harrington the king of stranger things best character of the series he deserves his own series
Cringe af
And the king of babysitter
Eddie was the best and fyi what happened to Maxx was a love letter to Metallica the one
@@arizonalady7569 no it wasn’t .
His badazz metal scene was AWESOME!! It was, by far, the best part of ST4 Part 2
When Henry goes into the attic of the house in an early flashback there are brief flashes of tropes from THREE legendary horror films:
1) The carriage from 'Rosemary's Baby' 2) The wheelchair from 'The Changeling' 3) The basinet from 'It's Alive'
how about the 27 year gap between Henry killing his family and the events of the 4th season; a possible IT reference. Also, maybe it was just me, but I could have sworn I heard that infamous doll laugh from the Saw franchise, at least twice.
I didn’t notice the similarities between Joyce and elevens outfits and hair, makes sense since that’s the only mother figure she’s had
Not sure if this is a missed detail, but Will crying in the van after talking to Mike can clearly show the feelings he(Will) has for him(Mike). He just didn't COME OUT & say it. Jonathon looking back at him in the rear view mirror & the talk they had while stirring the ice in the freezer kinda pointed to that as well🤷🏽♂️.
To add to this the background music in this scene is the same one used in season 3 when Robin made her coming out to Steve furthering the idea that Will did come out (somehow) in this scene.
*plus El probably never commissioned that painting, in ep. 1 she was saying in her letter to Mike how secretive Will was about that project and it was probably for a girl and I'm pretty sure she was not that girl since she did'nt know what the painting was about.
It could possibly turn out to be like the 80s film St Elmo's Fire, everyone thought the one guy was gay but it turned out he was in love with his buddies girlfriend. 🤷🏻♀️Will might be in love with 11
This evil perverse nonsense makes me sick
@@jessn7034 I honestly thought about that possibility and it might still be the case but they've thrown so many hint toward "gay" that I have a hard time believing it now. Why would he call himself "different" or "a mistake" for loving another guy girlfriend when his own brother and Steve have been battling over Nancy since season 1.
Milleven hurt him because he's jealous of El (like Robin was of Steve) make so much sense; she's the tank of the team, he's just the one with the passive power to sense Vecna when not abducted or possessed by him AND she's taking away a big part of the relationship he had with Mike so it even work on a platonic level (but I'm less and less sure of the platonic part also).
BUT it remain a possibility...
@@harveybarvey5080 would Jess N version suit you better? Evidences point toward the opposite but technically Will could be jealous of El not loving him AND taking his best friend away from him.
Or is it just the idea of Will not being ace that you find perverse?
It was nice that robin talked about divine intervention in season 4 as a possible pulp fiction reference, where her mother uma thurman stars in
“When it’s cold out I’d like to die”
This was played in season one when Will was being saved by Jopper and the Demogorgan being sent back to the UD. The Duffers have used music to send subliminal messages before (think Heroes by Peter Gabriel when Will’s “body” was found in ST 1 and when Hop “died” in ST3).
This was the song played when Eddie died, I feel there has to be a connection.
idk if anyone saw but when max first goes to vecna's "boiler room" there is a gravestone with the name "myers" on it.
The music when Max and Eddie died is by Moby called When It's Cold I'd Like To Die'. Featured in Shutter Island and also The Sopranos. Chilling tune and very well used in all 3 shows.. .
Was hoping to see the Wonder Woman reference with Eddie in the tornado of bats here. He's holding his shield in the exact same position that Gal Gadot does in the No Man's Land scene, with the same camera angle.
I think the headstone changing names is because Vecna had started to draw Max in, so we see a different names as he messes with her head.
Or because Billy is short for William and they wanted to use his full name when the show aired vs it using the shortened Billy in the trailer
The chat with Creel was very Silence of the Lambs.
If there's ever a Ramones biopic the kid that plays Mike gets my vote! lol.
Henry creel’s young version is so similar to Voldemort’s young character that slick back haircut same camera aesthetic same menacing look
I love when Érica hits the jock she says “crit hit”. She’s such a nerd 🤓
I think the whole ending fight has a lot of Resident Evil references, from the big mansion-like house, Steve, Nancy and Robin dressed like S.T.A.R.S. specially Robin with that beret looking like Jill, then the triple camera angle when they shoot Vecna out the window, and in the Russia side there's the lab with Monsters like in the Spencer mansion basement and they get evacuated in a Helicopter, also Vecna did a Wesker making us believe he was dead to then just escape
The wardrobe of our heroes was lifted directly from the 1980s movie Red Dawn -including their weapons.
There's a shoutout to the Shawshank Redemption when the Orderly/Henry shows Eleven the pipe that will take her outside the lab--there's even a shot of the characters from inside the pipe. The mental hospital is a mix of the Silence of the Lambs and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, as mentioned, but the orderlies' white pants, black belt, and button down shirt uniform (minus a bow tie) is also a reference to Cuckoo's. In real life an orderly would be much more likely to wear scrubs.
Also, there's a film called Altered States. In Season One, Eleven surfacing in the tank while wearing a helmet is a direct reference, and the shots of the broken arms in Season 4, plus some of the dream/hallucination images are lifted right from that film, by the looks of it (I've only seen the trailer and response videos, not the full film).
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Hop and the Conan sword would have been nice to see in the vid.
Someone already mentioned it, and it's unfortunate that the Mojo people don't realize that, it was a great moment!
What about Conan sword I thought that was a pretty cool Easter egg
Also, there is a Myers grave stone in one of the first upside down scenes in Volume 1.
It’s so odd seeing them as kids in season 1 now. They have grown up so much over the course of the show.
When stranger Things first came out I automatically thought well I'm much too old to watch a bunch of kids run around but as I watched it with my niece I ended up loving it more than her and as the show progressed I realized I enjoyed it so much because I have always loved the 80s horror films brings me back to the memories of watching them with my mother as a little kid.
This is Gen X memory lane gold.
I thought the same, I’m too old for this, I won’t like it. I only watched it because I kept hearing about it on Netflix. I absolutely loved it, and now me and my daughter has watched it several times. Can’t wait for the next season.
Loved that Joyce ended up wearing a Hulk Hogan shirt after they escaped the prison.
Sadie's monologue at Billy's grave might be the best acting I've ever seen
I must admit I do sometimes get Harry Potter vibes from Stranger Things. The dynamic between the younger characters, the way we see their coming of age, the supernatural creatures, El and Will’s abilities, and Vecna reminds me of a cross between Freddy Krueger and Voldemort. Especially his lack of a nose!
You also need to do one of these with Minions: The Rise of Gru. I saw it yesterday and there are SO MANY references to other movies.
The Mind Hive vines from Vecna remind me of the Devil's Snare from Harry Potter.
Why does the Stranger Things theme sounds similar to the Dule of Fates theme from Star Wars.
Vecna reminds me of Groot fused with the Grinch. Demigordon remind me of the Pokemon evolution for Piranha Plant. The demigordon bats remind me of a fusion between Piranha Plant and Zubat from Pokemon.
If only they pumped Stranger Things out as quick as they did Harry Potter
The Mental Hospital scene reminded me of Ace Ventura lol
I thought of the Aliens franchise when they walked through the lab with the creatures in the glass vats. I didn't know they were actually referencing Aliens.
The scene when Robin, Nancy and Steve are geared up in the upside down and ready to enter Vitor Creel's/Vecna's house is reminiscent of Resident Evil 1, right before the stars team enters Spencer mansion. Even the outfits have a slight similarity to the RE characters.
Also, when exploring the backstory of Henry/Vecna, the Creel family sort of reminded me of the Warren's from The Conjuring movies. The way the events played out and how they would connect it to the paranormal seemed reminiscent of it.
17:18 Red Sails In The Sunset is a song by The Platters released in 1960. The song is about the speaker asking the sea to bring their lover back home safely. Knowing this, it makes sense why the song is on the chalkboard.
The also missed the call back in the Kitchen scene with the house shaking and light flashing through the window. A very nice head nod to Close Encounters
Can't forget episode 9 - Hopper using Conan's Sword against The Demogorgon hahaahha
Just finished volume 2 yesterday it was awesome I'm ready for season 5
The season 4's story arc has an Empire Strikes Back vibe. The heroes and heroines faced much greater threat then they ever had. Although they managed to escape, mostly unharmed, to fight another day, the antagonist took the real win. Can't wait for season 5!
Fun Fact…
Michael Myers runs round wearing William Shatners face in Halloween.
Still keeping my fingers crossed Eddie comes back as a sort of Iron Maiden Eddie. Yeah he's dead, but that would still be metal af. 😮
That would ruin the show
Zombie Eddie. Controlled by the flayer.
I’ve noticed a lot more Easter Eggs from the Netflix series The OA. Like when Vacna had his tentacles wrapped around El’s throat aka Old Night did the same thing with OA and he said that “only your Brother can save you.” and when El was near the window it and a rose on it Aka “The rose glass stained window” El’s nose bleeding when she was doing her powers especially to number one, even the pizza Male mentioned in Vol. 2 the word “dimension” and when it showed the doctor and El at a restaurant that was when Hap and OA were both at a restaurant as well, El went underground in a bunker aka where OA and the all the others were underneath a basement in a mine and the little thing that El was inside was named “Nina” aka young Nina and Nina Azarova, “Hop” short for “Hopper” again even was even reminded me of “Hap” but even though Hap was short for “Hunter Anonymous Percy” but that still was a similarity to Hop, when Hop went to Russia that’s where OA was born in 1987 where it snows all the time and trees were there as well and even the actor who played Young Nina’s Father “Roman Azarov” was one of the guards but he told the others to stop firing the guns and then he was killed just like a similar way to how Roman Azarov was killed in both dimensions. Anyone else who’s a fan of The OA and Stranger Things and if there’s something else that I missed out from The OA in Stranger Things please reply back!!!! ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Eddie played master of puppets which can be a reference to Henry
I can give the Duffers an out for the tombstone error. The trailer scene with Billy could've been when Vecna was in her mind as she was reading the note. Meanwhile William makes more sense IRL because the family would be responsible for naming the tombstone. If Vecna was in her mind he would only use Billy as that is what he was referred to the most in series.
Thank you for accepting my recommendation
And Dustin is dressed like an Ewok when he and Eddie go into the Upside-down.
The writers and researchers were no lazy guys, that's all I know. That's why the series is so briliiant
Also with the Michael Meyers references when max was in vecnas mind there was a tomb that said Meyers and both max and eddie put oon the mask and they both died
I think the song Red Sails In The Sunset is an easter egg referring to Max getting lifted up by Vecna the 2nd time.
Love these little hints
You nailed it watchmojos that's why some scene in the series is familiar to me lol hahaha
When Lt. Colonel Jack Sullivan invades the facility where Eleven is, it looks like Darth Vader invading Princess Leia Organa ship in Star Wars!
The Pennhurst hospital gave me the Shutter Island vibe
I got Rocky 4 vibes, specially The Final Count Down songish when she decides to head to the secret base with Dr. Owen's.
🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️
Thanks Duffers
Nostalgia and all
LOVED MY WEEKEND
☺😍😙
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the support!!
Two things First anyone see that the grinch easter egg when Max is getting away from him the first time and Also of course Billy headstone it says William , Billy is short Hand 😏#Strangerthings
Freddie Kruger is more referenced than Michael Myers. With Robert Englund guest starring and the nightmare demon. Englund is always brilliant.
Eddie could come back as a monster under the power of vh1.
In honor of Kobe Bryant. Awe. 🤗 Can't wait for season 5! I throughly enjoyed this season. 😍 Oh, except for Eddie's death. Why did they have to kill him off? 😭
When the my little pony reference came up by Dustin I immediately thought of Sheldon and whether he played it because he knew, like Dustin, that it was totally nerdy
I’m kind of shocked no one picked up on the blue also being reminiscent of Hellraiser. Also the original Hellraiser house has the exact same stain glass rose all through the home. You know, the one like Vecnas door.
Yesss! I definitely caught that! Good call!
What I expected to be here but it wasnt, is the scene where Joyce is calling to Russia and Murray says: You're calling from Durham, North Carolina. Which is actually the birthplace of the Duffers. That was a nice little easter egg. But I have to admit, that this list had some things I missed and some that I noticed.
You mention “Pruitt igoe” and “prophecies” when they are used for Dr. Manhattan, but you didn’t mention they come from “Koyaanisqatsi.”
In addition when Dustin said "Never tell me the odds!" he points, which is a trademark of Harrison Ford when he wants to say something that means a lot to the actor. He does the Famous "Finger Pointing" at least once in all of his movies. LOL
I think they changed the headstone for the trailer because people will immediately recognize billy's name, but may take a while to make the connection between William and Billy.
I could also swear I seen Barbara Holland in S4 E3 during a flashback of max seeing Chrissy coming out of the Guidance counselors office, she is wearing a band uniform
It's a blue hair tie that belong to hoppers daughter that passed away.
What about Victor Creel’s name being a hybrid of X-Men villains Victor Creed (Sabertooth) and Crusher Creel (Absorbing Man)? That would have been a better name for One, since he’s the evil mirror of Eleven and he is able to absorb everything from his victims.
Also at the time when they are desperately searching for cassettes, to bring Nancy out of the Vecna-induced trance, Robin tells Eddie "don't you have Madonna, I don't know, anything that's music?" and furious Eddie raises Iron Maiden's "Killers" cassette, with the image of Eddie (the group's mascot) and shouts "This is music!". Eddie with Eddie in his hand vindicated heavy, EPIC
Isn't it piece of mind ?
PS sorry for being a perfectionist nerd
@@allanc9043 Yes, you're right, I realized later :D
I noticed That scene in the lab also Obi Wan Kenobi show had a similar scene like that in one episode. I didn't catch Han Solo bit at first and didn't catch the reference of Halloween's ending.
There’s a Thing reference when Hopper picks up the flamethrower.
So many Stand By Me moments... every time they walk across the train tracks SQUEEEEE!! (LMAO I'm a GEN-XER!!)
El in the beginning of season 4 looks a lot like Fiona Phillips from the criminally underrated Disney channel original tv series “So Weird”.
I love all the Halloween references 🎃
001 = Dad
Both the assistants of Mind Flayer shares the name William...
Will - William Byers
Billy - William Hargrove
did anyone noticed this ,
0:08 - Wife of Shiva
answer - 0:09 (54) Kali , 008 in season 2
I loved this season
Can you make a lighthearted stranger things video like: "Top 10 Funniest Stranger Things Moments"?
i was rewatching season 3 and that one seen after hopper gave the "speach" to eleven and mike. you know how he went back to the store to tell joyce they werent seeing eachother, he said "your the master, im the puppet." in season 4 eddie played master of puppets on his guitar. idk i just thought it was cool
I think there was another star wars reference in volume 2, when the army infiltrates the base where Eleven is, Brenners soldiers are stationed near the elevator and are waiting for the door to be breached, i thought this was very similair to the beginning of star wars A new hope
