People should not travel to Dubai. Time and time again we hear these cases. They don't deserve any touristic economy from the West.

Phil. There is a surprisingly Large expat community in Dubai. Many working or in business there.
You're starting to sound like the Palestinan supporters.
I wouldn't even go there for a free holiday. Yet so many want to work for Emirates over other airlines. Competition for places on their training courses are fierce, and the training is tough. Flight crew come from all.over the world.
@@lemsip207 My girlfriend is senior CC and knows many people in the industry. She and many of her friends in the industry would rather quit flying than work for Emirates. In fact she and many others have requested not to work rotations involving Dubai. She has refused rotations there because of the horror stories she has heard from girls who have worked there. She has worked rotations in Oman where even the locals there warn of the dangers for young western women working in Dubai as cabin crew.
I don't know anybody braver than an ex Muslim, speaking against Islam and also being a woman doing that. Considering the threat that she faces it is just incredible how brave she is.

What we would consider separate areas of secular life and religious life in Western societies, in Islam they are inextricably intertwined. As for the man having no honour, but clinging on to a woman who doesn't want to be with him, that ex-husband of yours behaviour has nothing to do with Islam or the courts in the UAE.
The husband is the one who has the right to divorce. If he initiates the divorce, then he has to return the dowry back to her. The woman can go to the court and initiate a divorce, but if she does that, she has to return the dowry to him.
The husband can only initiate the divorce when she is clean from menses and no intercourse has taken place. Then wait for her to get menses again and then become clean, and then say that she is divorced.
He cannot make her leave the house except of she did something immoral. If she wants to go to her family, she can do that. Then her iddah (waiting period) begins. The iddah is three menstrual cycles. During that time, the husband has to provide for her on a reasonable basis, and he has a right to take her back on a reasonable basis. If she doesn't want to return to him, then the court intervenes. The wisdom is to save the marriage. Perhaps they may regret after a couple of weeks and return back to one another.
Once the the iddah ends, then she is no longer his wife. The reason for the iddah is to make sure that she is not pregnant.
As for the polytheists like christians, there is no divorce in their religion. King Henry had to do things to get it. And there is no iddah (waiting period). The woman can leave her husband and run away with a new man the next day. Then if it turns out that she was pregnant, then both men will be in doubt as to who the father is.
This person is either a liar or she never liked the person she was married to. What does her not liking that man have to do with Islam?
As for the age of consent, then the Creator of this world created mankind. Once they reach the age of mating, then biologically they are able to do marry. As for recent man made western taboos values, they have no meaning. When a girl reaches puberty, she can get married.
And believing God becomes a man, or begets Himself as His own son and kills it, is a death cult.
If you are due for a court hearing, but skip town. Any court in the world would give you a travel ban. Look, if you had a traumatic unhappy marriage, that is not Islam's fault or the UAE. You said it yourself: "ancient sharia law that I've never heard of." And that you only knew little about Islam like your father being your Waliy (guardian). Thus you were not someone practicing Islam. Nor was your marriage based on Islam. Don't blame your failure in life, marriage on our religion. Any court on earth would give you a travel ban if you are due to a hearing and might skip town.

The expatriate population of Dubai is 2.72 Million. Large number of Irish and UK people live and work there. Only around 15% of the population is actually native Dubai people!
