The advantage of these were the simplicity, less to go wrong and easy to fix if it does. But now they are getting more electronics and advanced.
When he said 'throttle by wire' I stopped watching. They were missing the whole point about the concept.
Trying to compete a bit more with FATTRUCK with all their due-dads my guess. A bit more luxurious version for guys who got/want it like Kayne West(for leisure). I believe they are still going to maintain selling the original version which is still the better way to go when using it for actual work.
@@sterlingskeoch-allison1093 It'd be nice if you can get this newer larger frame and all the physical upgrades but keep the simpler mechanicals. No idea if they offer such a package though. It might not be worth the hassle of redesign when they could just sell you the old model as it exists.
@@e-legalcanadian I disagree, what is the thing that makes this one worse? Sure it's more complex so you might not be able to repair the new things, but the new things are a luxury. Without them it's almost like the older Sherp but still better...
@@samwarren6008 the thing that makes this new version worse is that if you get stuck in the middle of nowhere you can't repair it yourself, making Artic exploration more dangerous than necessary. The original Sherp can be repaired easy no matter where you are
MAN! Everything just looks better with this rig. If/when you get one we'll have to get some sick custom Simpson seats for it!
That would be sick!! Wait til your guys first Sherp ride. I will blow your mind hahahaha
Can you really store fuel in the tires?
Is there some special valve for that how does it work?
Mrs. Osta is the coolest wife on the planet! Goes out ripping in the skeg, is a boss driving the Sherp, shredding in the snow, she is ALWAYS ready to send it!
100% agree!!
I could imagine an electric version of these exploring the Moon or Mars.
Would be like the 2nd moon rover form NASA 👍
Or California. LOL
That is exactly my first thought! My second thought was sound track should have been Slayer, or Metallica something not as pretty.
Kinda overkill for those two places.
@@chadleach6009 Over kill?Have you been to Mars? Well, um, neither have I ...but I've been to LA, and those f#$ked up pot holes HAVE GOT to be as bad as Mars. The Sherp may be over matched in LA.
What a unit! The previous version was impressive, this one seems refined. Woukd love this for trapping!
your eggs will last longer and your beers to
The new version is more sophisticated than the 1st and therefore less easily fixed in the field
Woukd
sherp is the best of all off-road vehicles, engineers from Russia are amazing.
I only learnt of these vehicles yesterday. I am absolutely in love with them! I am currently homeless, have been for 4 years, man it would make the ultimate go anywhere home for me but the cost is very prohibitive. I would love one though, I'd keep it forever!
To be fair it costs less than many houses. If you went all in on one of these as a tiny house you could probably make it work.
@@herbderbler1585 street legal? I would want the old one as they are easier and cheaper to maintain.
Try to buy a cheap used RV, the welfare would pay for it, it would be home.
Woulda been nice to hear the thing instead of loud music.
I've never wanted a THING more in my life
It must be sooo nice to be rich and able to have these toys. When I am struggling to pay my power bill to keep my house warm I don’t think a Sherp is in the cards for me. But there is always a chance to win the lottery.
Awesome stuff Mr and Mrs Osta!!!! Very cool to see how big y'all have gotten, love seeing people do what they love and make a living off of it. Much love to yall.
Thank you friend
I've been waiting for this video and wasn't disappointed. Fantastic and detailed. Love the Sherp
Thank You Mrs. And Mr. Osta.
You're welcome friend. Thanks!!
I feel like this defeats the KISS spirit of the original Sherp. Lots of electronic and hydraulic wankery to break in the middle of nowhere.
Agreed. I think if they're going to put all the tech on these, then it's important to have the original mechanical/analogue systems still there underneath as redundancies. I'm sure the hydraulic clutch is nice to have, but the old school cable set up should still be there for when something leaks.
Well electronics have proven them self's to be more reliable in many ways plus it can work without it too. Only benefits nothing to loose plus they give all the spare parts in bag and quickly replaceable. Same with hydraulic they probably over built it so it can withstand anything plus they give spare lines, oil, connections etc.
Agreed, but as long as the original is still available no problem. They need to keep a "primitive" version in the range.
Is doesn’t really matter if the wankery breaks though because it’s non-essential for the vehicle to work. It’s just a quality of life boost while driving around so it’s nice to have.
I would be outfitting that new Sherp with some fold up beds, tables, and a kitchen for some banjo free backwood adventures.
I wish someone would do a maintenance video on the sherp but thank you for this wonderful video!😻
I see these as the ultimate off grid camping vehicle . Go where ever you want set up camp and enjoy the outdoors
100%
Finally catching up on your videos man!I've been soo far behind! I couldn't help but laugh when you said 35 over 0 was very very warm. I live down here where it is 70-100 all year. This week is 90's. I also couldn't help but be amazed by this sherp. This thing is amazing 🤯
Haha definitely. Thanks buddy
pretty sure he was talking about degrees in 35c not 35f
Swamps rocks mud water snow... you just go. Protects you from freezing. You just know sherp won't betray you ever.
72inch 😳😳 need wheel adapters for full pull lol..
Never the less what an upgrade! Deadly
Haha wouldn't that be funny
A lot of improvements from first version
Now would be cool for them to boost up production to make them cheaper
Definitely
The new Sherp looks amazing but I do prefer the profile of the previous model.
Yes new one is a little blocky looking lol
It's fun to see the machine traverse terrain that...vehicles really shouldn't be anywhere near. Awesome.
*When we getting a House Update??*
New Sherp Looks GREAT!! I kinda Want to go Check them out in person... But at the same time... I know it will be at least 5-6 years before i would EVER have to coin to buy a toy like that!
I pass the Dealership just on the outside of Winnipeg all the time.
Very soon brother. Weather is messing with our concrete schedule
I can imagine that many of you guys haven't seen much of the ATVs made in Russia, both by enthusiasts and by small companies.
Afaik so far only Sherp has dealers world-wide. But it may change sooner or later.

That’s an amazing piece of equipment. What is crazy is you could overland and literally get away from any other terrestrial vehicle in this.
Definitely
It's to bad they are not road legal so nice to drive it than trailer it to the site lol
@@briangreen8887 driving 40kmph down roads gets old pretty quick lol
That drone around the power lines is friggin scary at my skill level dude! Awesome flying brother!
Hydraulic fan is very good. It should never let you down. I see an engine jacket cooler and an intercooler on the left. Nice :o)
It’s really interesting to see the evolution of the sherp....
So this is gonna sound weird, but years ago I got brutally sick for about a month. In an out of the hospital etc. and watched a lot of your videos in that time.. I ended up having crazy fever dreams about your videos and it made it really hard to enjoy your videos after that. I associated your videos with that bad expirence But years later I stumble back onto your chanel and have started watching agian!
Crazy! Glad to have you back brother
Lol watching this like I could ever afford one 🤣
@Mazon Mendoza no bud don't got a spare million kicking around
@@billbill7894 You can get one for a bit over 100k. Not bad, for the experience and capability.
@@joelalexander5338 when i looked on the website there were 1mill
@@billbill7894 i think it starts 100k

Yea there like 150,000 so really not impossible
This looks very cool man. You are one of my favorite you tubers and you have a lot of knowledge about this.
Thank you my friend!
Are those back seats removable at all? It would be cooler if they had seats that could fold down if needed like a station wagon or something like that but that is so cool I want one
Yes about 5 mons to take them out. Stow away seats would be cool as heck
You lucky S.O.B.. JK. Just a little jealous, new house and new sherp on order. Good things happen to good people so congrats on everything to you ans wife. Cant wait for more vids.
Thank you so much bud. We are very fortunate
I love the new model
It looks amazing
You could live in that thing it’s so nice with the heater nice seat belts and built in tire inflator and all the storage
Truly amazing
Great video
2:30 big step? no problem adjust the tyres to lower the cabin and you can crawl in too.
Would have thought they would have focused on having solar up top. So many advancements in the last 5-6 years. At least as a pre-plumbed, pre-fabbed option for panels.
The more goodies, the more that can go wrong
I'm a retired firefighter, if I had one of these, I'd volunteer my time with it to help with SAR operations (Search and Rescue) as we have swamps and woods out here in NC and although we had others volunteer horses and ATVs, helicopters, or airplanes, Dogs and us FF's hoofing it through, we never had anything like this and I can totally see how having something like this would really help play a big part in searches as there are people who get lost in the woods and swamps be it a hiker, or hunter. I can't Firefight anymore due to injury, but I can drive one of these, load it up with first aid and medical. That would be pretty sweet, and to be able to help serve my community again, Gosh that would be awesome! Thanks for the video!!!
100% a perfect fit for SAR work
Thought the point was in part to avoid hydraulics?
for me it looks like Sherp could easily roll over and I don't see a system that would prevent it?
I’m sad that ur moving I love to say there’s a famous CZcams right beside our cabin
We won't be too far away
Ok how far from emma
@@bmxlife4824 45mins
Wish they had side windows for the back.
You can add them
great overview, except for the music. How many Highway MPG do you get ?
Would love too see how that thing handles the zombie apocalypse
Too slow...zombie's eat you.
Glad to see this one wasn't rolled 😂. Gotta bring that unit out here to manitoba one of these days
I agree
You guys should check out the BV206 tracked machine used in the norwegian millitary. Those are beast
Need that winning ticket now!!!
You guys should try and come up to Maine we got everything from rocks to cliffs to swamps Rivers lakes you name it valleys mountains we have it. I like to see the Sharp in Maine winters trying to climb up hills. I have seen videos they don't do too well on hills in winter time. Is that true?
No wheeled vehicle does well in deep snow climbing hills
Whenever i see these things i wonder how they would do if they were designed to use an over the tire track system that could both paddle the water and spread the weight out over a much larger surface area. Seems like the only weakness of these things is the limited surface area of tires.
That’s wicked, wish you would have shown the 360° camera!
I wonder if you could fit sherp tires on a shatun🤔
This thing looks insane!!!!
Here is my ADD ONS for SHERP 3:
Electric...ask Tesla to do it!
Solar roof panels.
Better and DISTINCTIVE horn.
Couple of Hammocks.
Camper convertable variant.
A winch for that pull out event...Land Rover style.
Roof hatch...with roof chair...when you fancy going fishing midway crossing a lake or river.
Attachments like farming tools...when farmers want it to replace their tractor.
Please give price, availability worldwide, service, mileage etc.
This beast beats any SUV, Hummer and truck. Ford should be worried. Great job guys...next video bring in some competition off-road vehicles and let this baby beat them all!🤣
How would these cope in the Scottish Highlands during winter as a mountain rescue vehicle?. How good are they at adjusting tyre pressures in sub zero temps. Just curious. lovely vehicles.
That looks incredibly fun
Nice vehicles and beautiful landscapes.
I like how your honest like you said it is a little herky jerky
Wait Wait: I think this will do the P trail sideways!! 👌
The biggest issue with all the sherps there is NO side windows for the passengers to see out or for the drive to see the environment there in.
They are optional. You can put as many as you want in
Got the volume up to listen to the guy then out of nowhere..
📣📣HEATED SEATS!! 👂
😂😂😂
Love your videos🤘
Haha sorry
Something I've never heard of until today. Really cool rig!
Awesome!!
Wow that's impressive they didn't just to a couple upgrades. They changed so much more that it really makes the previous model not be able to almost not compete at all.
Such a beautiful machine... Its a life goal of mine to own one..
Can you get a separate fill and deflate for front and back? Thinking about steep inclines. Or would they not do that to keep driveline timing equal.
Surprised that the windscreen wiper is not a Pantograph type with smaller ones on the two sidescreens.
should mock one up as an Rescue unit / ambulance
Cool.. I like this vehicle.. 😍😍
What does a typical Sherp N retail for in the U.S.? Your videos have pretty much sold me on one. Figured if I can spend six figures on a 1960s Supercub, why not a machine as capable as these.
They are around 120k usd
@@ostacruiser Thank you for the speedy response. I watched another 3-4 hours of your vids today. Are there ever any circumstances where you think you might have been better off in your first Sherp instead of the N? Or, regret selling your first one? Sentimental reasons aside. I'm trying to make a decision on which model, and time is of the essence. I've also been talking with the dealers today.
@@Kulis747 The only reason would be the size of it. If you had very tight trails. Other then that the N is superior in every way
@@ostacruiser Thank you!
Nice video David! Hello from Kiev!
Hello my friend. How is the weather there?
ostacruiser Never Better!)
In my opinion. Can we stick to big bore and nos because Sherps are op slow and boring and that’s not what I come here for. Now if you had one that had some serious power to weight ratio that could absolutely shred that would be different. I do like the house building videos though and look forward to an update.
New build update coming. Lots happening
At 3:00, you were looking for the phrase "bells and whistles"
Lots of electronics to go wrong, that you can't fix yourself in the field? Is the engine electric injection too?
El mejor todoterreno. Saludos desde Ensenada, Argentina.
lol me watching this like I'm gunna buy one.
Head North and at least come for a rip in one!
ostacruiser One day!
@@ostacruiser What is the price for one of those? and can the back seats come out if needed?
@@79tazman 140k usd for the Sherp N and yes you can have 4 bucket seats in the rear or 2-4 person benches
How about the environment impact..... those tracks out in the middle of nowhere is it causing damage to the wildlife?
get a grip a few tracks i dont think is going to end some lizards world
Looks like the width/height makes portability worse and sadder is the length over sharp ridges or logs is where the original beat all previous competition.
its the only bus i'd drive haha love it
Might need one of those for the apocalypse...
Ya that new sherp is pretty killer
'The more they overtake the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.' - Scotty
I like it but why isn't there side windows for the back seat and I don't see a winch otherwise I'd sure like to have one
You can add windows and a winch
My only question is ... what's the weight difference? Will it still be able to self recover when you are out on questionable/rotten ice as easily as the other version does?
It is substantially heavier But also more power and larger tires. I think it will do well a but we will for sure tested this fall lol
They are pretty cool
The ultimate short bus.
Пошло усложнение конструкции, у Гаргашьяна было попроще и понадежнее.
Wonder why they dont put in a few side windows for people riding in the back?
That is an available option
Did he say, “fuel in the tires”?
yeah , the old one could hold fuel in the wheel hubs .. it lowered centre of gravity & with all hubs & main tank filled the range was 1500km ( IIRC )
If you never put fuel in them, you can hall fresh water in there instead. I have a Rokon that I can haul water in the tire rims.
OH HEY. I HAVE A QUESTION!!! WHO IS THE SINGER AT THE END OF THE THEME SONG IN THE ENDING OF THIS VIDEO? AND WHAT IS THE NAME OF THAT SONG???? I LIKE IT!
needs 4 inhub brushless hub motors.
One day someone will run out of fuel in the middle of a lake 😆
how would it do in nevada desert and mountain area?
We took ours to Moab and it did great
Sherp number one, next to the Legend, UNIMOG
All I’m thinking is fishing and crabbing with the family and they won’t complain if the have games in the cabin
Get me one with a high top and a conversion van luxury interior with the tv and the speakers. Also just a tiny tiny bit more horsepower thanks. Btw what’s the new price tag?
How good is it at pulling? I think this is awesome for hunting etc, but I’m curious if it can drag logs etc and as well how is it in deep snow.?
The new Sherp N is an excellent puller. They do very well in 5' of snow or less
Nice ride glad I waited to buy 1 !
take that to Louisiana!!! right now!:-)
They still have got a latch on the back, must drive you nuts like drive inside a washing machine how the heating
What??? This kinda riding is insane... I wouldn't even know where to take one of these around me lol.
I can’t afford one, at this time, but the price for this vehicle and experience is amazingly reasonable.
While this is a big step up from the old Sherp, I wonder if the old one is more 'Maintainable' in the places where there are no facilities ? Cables and the like you can 'Jerry- Rig' where if you have a hydraulic seal blow, you are stuffed with out replacement fluid, even if you can replace the blown seals, which is debatable. Bit like the Mk 1 Range Rover designed as a farmers car, Vs the "Chelsea tractor" that it has become :-(.
