      This kind of drug-gangs-gun violence was/is a much larger phenomenon than people like to think. Product of intense poverty, lack of jobs, racial tension, and ineffective response from gov/law enforcement, and a disturbed and senselessly violent youth.

    Details on the first story: the 18-year-old was retaliating for a cousin in the drug business who was shot at. He and another assailant took a 9mm (I believe) and an uzi and shot seven people in the apartment, killing four.
    Articles online says the neighborhood had escaped the scourge from the crack era up to that point.
    He was caught at his girlfriend's house and was found guilty two years later.
    Five years after THAT, he either tried to get a new trial or wanted things overturned because his counsel wasn't informed his cousin would testify against him.
    ALSO, I see transcribed court filings from just last Spring... he's a disciplinary problem behind bars. Was caught switching shoes with his wife in prison along with other infractions.

      Dionisio Mojico was sentenced to 25-to-life for each of the four counts of 2nd degree murder...
      and 12.5-25 years for each of the 2nd degree attempted murders since he seriously wounded three as well.
