The neck isn't a polycap though. They went through the trouble of making a unique neck joint for this kit.
The waist joint is pretty similar to the HGCE Infinite Justice's. Glad Bandai is taking features from its more premium kits and adapting them for cheaper ones.

@@MechaGaikotsu reminds me of how the Gundam the Origin kits are done that way in terms of head articulation. All four kits that I have from that series: RX-78-2, Zaku II Red Comer Ver, Zaku II C-6/R6, and MS-04 Bugu [Ramba Ral] have the ball+hinge combo for the head.
Went through the trouble? Company man much? It's far easier to do this, hence the cheap price of the kit. PC joints are way more expensive to engineer as you're dealing with different materials and tolerances.
@@WardenOfTerraYou literally get the neck polycap as a leftover part with this kit, so Bandai had no other reason to make a plastic version of it. One of the advantages of polycaps is that the runner can be reused over and over again, making it a cheap way to standardize joints. If you're going to attempt to correct someone, you should make sure your point makes sense and not be rude about it.

@@Joshua_N-A more like testing new design theories with not much huge of a consequence. 30 Minute Mission being designed for customization and Affordability in mind make the line much more open for new design concepts.
@@Joshua_N-A then, Bandai can freely use what worked on 30 Minute Mission on their mainline Gunpla, and avoid those that didn't. It won't be stoping them from screwing their mainline kit from time to time though...
Really hoping they do a release of an HGCE Dark Dagger L, rocking the black and red color scheme and yellow visor. They already announced the Neo Roanoke colors for the HGCE Windam, so having the alternate colors for the Dagger L would be awesome.

@@tdawgkiad no the Slaughter dagger is based off of the dark 105 dagger. Dark dagger L is a dagger L.
They are mostly the same... but the dagger L has better equipment and is newer... and shitty armor then the limited production run 105

Tip: Get a silver or ex silver gundam marker, pour it onto a container, and paint the head area behind the visor with small brush
Done this with my Jegan, it works
This is a great tip. I do it with all my GM types and most kits that have "visor" type faceplates. (With the natural exception of kits like the Pale Rider that have an actual face under the visor.)
I've done this with a number of kits, especially behind the "eyes" and on the 30mm kits, it makes a huge difference and can really make certain areas "pop!"
Did that with the psycho frame parts on my C-Packs. Massive improvement for sure

They sorta actually did with the M1 Astray (Which is better than the older HG Seed Kits and as good as the Red, Gold and Blue Frame) Murasame needs a revive, and the Strike Dagger deserves better

Oh my god I would LOVE an HG Aries grunt suit. It was always one of my favorite grunt suit designs of all time. I'd buy two so I can have the regular color and the other to give a custom paint job.
I find it kinda funny in that, Bandai's advertisement is essentially them trying to sell you nuclear weapons. Not literally of course. But the Multi Striker Pack that's seen on the box was used to launch a nuclear strike on the PLANTS in Seed Destiny.
And from what I remember, the P Bandai set will have markings to show that on the missiles that come with the set.

The difference between the Strike Dagger and Dagger L is aside from being a successor to the former- it has an improved software for piloting by Natural pilots and allows for use of striker packs by regular forces which was provided before exclusively to ace pilots and special operation groups
Shame no implementation of the 105 dagger style shoulders for added use of the older packs.
I have to say having built 7 hg kits this far, Dagger L has been the best one. Even though it was a fairly simple build it was a very well thought out one and by far the most solid out of all the ones I own. Design wise it comes in at a close second to the Leo which for me has the perfect "real" mech vibe to it. The Leo also wins in the detail category because it has over all more panel lines and small details. None the less the Dagger L is a great little hg! Next up is the hg Heavyarms and I can't wait to see how it stacks up against the rest. Thanks for the review Mecha G. Keep em coming !
6 am in Spain, just finished building mine. I need some pannel lining and I'l paint a few details in gold, silver or chrome. Also add some decals, as it seems few people try with this one. Really loved it.
They really did well with the HGCE Strike and made it a great testbed for grunts just like in the anime

I use that panel liner for things like fighter jet models that have a lot of surface detail, just color all over the surface and rub off

@@AngeMaru486 The Love Phantom's Noir Striker isn't updated. AT ALL. They are the EXACT same parts as the old Noir striker (of course there are one or two that are new, but 95% is the same). How do I know this? I built these kits back to back, specifically to find this out, when the Love Phantom came out.
The design really makes me want to paint it like a space type GM.
if the striker pack of the HGCE strike gundam passes over it you can consider that the iwsp pack also passes and that it must be possible to pump pieces of the perfect strike to modify a little ....thanks for this presentation its my next choice

The kit bash potential of this kit is insane. There's already a black "ground dagger" custom that looks sleek as hell and more are coming.

You missed some movement in the ankle. If You move policap part attaching to the leg first and then the foot, it has a extra movement of leg to the front, which is actually a lot nicer.
i love it when there's a bunch of other grunts in the box art, im mostly talking about the Leo box art lol, it really screams ARMY BUILD

Some of the optional 30 mm armour and weapon packs would go great with this to make specialised custom units
The grunt suit I want is the Taurus. Unique as hell and quite a unique profile. Maybe some Virgo and Virgo II varients as well. Hell Maybe even some love for the Pisces and Cancer mobile suits. But first, the Taurus.

I was at my local Game X Change that sells gunpla and saw this little guy there. I didn't think much of it but after this video it genuinely looks great. I may pick it up later today if it's still there.

Not a bad kit, displays well with my Zakus, Gouf custom, Jesta, and Graze units.
So it's a "grunt mech" with a minimalist design to it, I actually like that approach instead of ones that are overly complex or over armed like in Gundam X.
@mecha you don't have to worry about the brush marker breaking the plastic because it's a water based one

This is basically an EFF Nemo, just with the angles and proportions tweaked. Hopefully we get the Dark Dagger L at some point so we can re-paint it into the AEUG Nemo (can't do it with this one because the clear plastic visor is the wrong colour, and you can't fix that with paint.)

Maybe a noob question, but how does the top coat work on these kits? Haha Worked at a body shop and we had to sand or scuff vehicles to put any kind of top coat on, do I have to do the same for the model kits? Or can I just spray it on and it'll just adhere to the plastic? The only reason I ask is that I live out in the middle of nowhere, and would have to order online... And they don't exactly have the best description, especially when I don't want to waste time and money ordering something that might not work
@@d34th5back i think its almost the same, the top coat use to hide the mark of sanding the plastic and make the plastic not that glossy (if you use the flat or matt top coat like in the video)

@@d34th5back id recommend not sanding the kits when your going to use just the top coat. The brand used in the video is specifically made to stick to gunpla plastic and doesn't need to any surface prep to work properly.

I'm sure someone's already said it, but the difference between the old Daggers and the Dagger Ls are that they swap out the vulcan cannon types and lose the mounts for the Sword and Launcher packs. In other words, it's more streamlined.
Beyond that, I NEED THIS. If not for an army, than certainly to make my own custom!

I wish we get a striker pack in this single box, I'd probably give it platinum, but regardless I'm amazed by it's color separation and no sticker sheet at all.

I was thinking of kitbashing the dagger torso and the strike's but looks like it will need more than just some kitbash to get it work. Fan of the torso but not a fan o the crotch piece.
I'm having a tough time even finding kits in stock right now. Pretty crazy out there.

They've also gotten extremely good lately. And far more anime accurate then they used to be
I don't have a GM yet, for one reason or another. This would make a good substitute.

Built the Eins about a month ago, and it really surprised me. The Eins, Zwei, & Drei are pretty much the same robot. Solid build for a decade old kit. Reliance on stickers was bearable though I'm told it's worse on the Zwei & Drei. In spite of that it got me into very basic painting, and my Eins looks better for it, which was satisfying & enjoyable. Articulation is far from god tier, but it's still very good, and will solidly hold a pose. And best of all, it's like looking at a prototype IBO kit. You can really see where they Barbatos and other IBO gundams came from.
One con (that gets balanced by a nifty fix/pro) is that the beam handles don't actually hold well in the hands; the kit doesn't come with beam effects either, but since the handles are docked on the shoulders and coincidentally look like long barrel vulcans, I just put them on in reverse and pretend that they are, which looks surprisingly looks cool.
Great year for Grunt Suits.
Although I miss the hg Shi den, this grunt is pretty good too
They should make a Revive version of the Astray Red Frame
I need all the wing grunts. Even the Cancers.
