The effects work and scale of things is impressive. This must have cost a fortune to film.

I'm very glad that I uploaded these old vintage treasures, they're my channel's most popular ones, too. They are from the "American Film Archives" at The Smithsonian, by the way.

I'm a southern man who nearly fell for the wiles of a northern girl. Thank you lord

I fell for the wiles of a big city woman in Southern California who invited me to come live with her in Maine after she had relocated here. That was back in 1994 and here I still am. She split only 7 months later though.

@@overallgreatidea6433 I couldn't breath the humid air any longer when I lived down in Texas and Florida. The heat in Los Angeles with its overhead sun beating down wasn't that good either. Here, we have seasons and the air can taste sweet sometimes. The winters haven't been that bad at all, on the coast anyways. Once in a while we do get storms that flood and do some damage, or ice that takes down power lines. But it's an easier form of living from what I've seen. The other places I've lived had far too much fret and commotion to deal with. I'm broke-as-a-joke and live here in Maine just fine. I never had two dimes to rub together in L.A., Texas or Florida. Those places DID have more opportunity though.

1st. Okay question: is that Mary Pickford?

My guess is that it probably is, but I can't honestly say because I'm not that familiar with her. In the 80's I worked with an elderly man who mentioned her all the time though, and his eyes grew a decent happy sparkle whenever he did mention her. I'm of a later era myself. I'd bet decent money it IS Mary Pickford though. She is in a lot of these vintage films.

@@overallgreatidea6433 Thank you for sharing that. Mart Pickford gets enough credit, though honestly.
