I bought a crash damaged Audi RS6 C7, then rebuilt it to look like a GT3 car, afterwards i shipped the Audi to the USA where the engine failed. I later relplaced the engine but it wouldnt start after multiple attempts. In this video i attempt to repair the car then tune it to beat Supercars in a drag race.

Honestly haven*t finished this video but i got to say, your storytelling and voice over is absolutely immaculate and to me that's a big part of these rebuilds. There is alot of people who can point a camera at a car and try to figure out why that shit ain't cranking, but the way you pull us in with the story telling, the suspense, the hope. Absolute masterclass.
As a car nut this has quickly become one of my favorite channels, and hands down my favorite rebuild channel. And lets not forget the father son dynamic, that shits so wholesome. keep it up you lot!
Tony saying "never mind, we're all still alive" so quickly and so sincerely made me smile, and is such an embodiment of him and Mat. Love it.

Mat, I love the education pieces you slot into the videos. The explanation of why the fuel octane level blew up the engine was brilliant. One of the most valuable things I learnt last year and answered the question as to why we are told the right fuel matters.
Please keep doing these with the simple drawings. They dont get the credit they deserve. Cheers.

Hope you enjoy the car and never sell it. This was my dream car also back in 2012. After so much work I finally got a 2010 S6 and not long after I had a swimming accident and lost everything. Now I sit in a wheelchair. Losing the ability to drive was the biggest blow. Watching the RS6 series made my cry a bit but also happy for you 😘😘
Brother i know I’m just a stranger but things will get better. You should be proud that you worked hard enough to own one. If its still with you, you can install hand pedals to allow you to drive it.

When the RS6 engine smoked out again i instantly went "oh damn .. i guess they didn't check all the hoses, after they put the gearbox back up and remounted the engine". I've done that exact same mistake on 2 of my older cars. You just gotta love how Audi pack their engine bays so tight, you can't drop a needle in there and if a wire or a hose moves more than a centimeter, you have to reattach it. Still love em though and won't change the brand any time soon.
What's better than blowing your engine once with wrong fuel? Pushing it again with a new engine before the dyno. We love your noggin Mat

As a mechanic myself I can completely understand Mat’s reaction. There is no better feeling than to find a stupid solution for a major problem and avoiding the hassle of fixing it. Especially true when it’s an issue engine or transmission job.
P.s. I love watching these videos because it reminds me of all the times I used to fix cars with my father.

I still have no idea why he pushed the new engine hard again with the same exact ECU map that blew the old one. Makes no sense.
@rar23424 it was tuned, and honestly I don't think the ECU map is what blew the first one. Also a different engine this time so who knows. Best way to find out if anything is wrong! Lol

Because the ECU was mapped to a specific grade of fuel that you can't get in the US?
@@rar23424because the fuel was good in it. We changed the fuel in the last vide o. We just tuned it so it would cope with crap fuel if we every bought it back to LA
you can tell mat has put his heart and soul into this car, the sheer euphoria when it started, and the utter defeat and hatred for the car when it blew, you could hear it in his voice, both times.

Volt drop test is your best friend in these situations Matt!!!
If you attach your multi metre to battery ground then to engine earth and crank the vehicle if it reads any voltage that’s how much you have lost!
In your case you would’ve seen 12 volts earth to earth which is why it didn’t start

Back in the 80's I worked on Audi GTV's, and after a couple years and fixing almost every part on the car, customers would ask me "What should they do to solve all these problems?" . My final answer was "Buy Two. One will be in the shop, and One to drive after it was fixed.
I now own a Audi RS6 R and it's a phenomenal automobile with modified 1,100 HP. But, I also went out and bought a Regular Audi RS6 Advant after remembering my past troubles with Audi. I suggest that advice still sticks with this brand. Buy Two. Robert(Ras).
That’s a smart call for German cars on tunes. Or even a Japanese car for a daily.
Or simply avoid the bl**dy Audis all together
In the end, all problems was self made. So not to blame Audi for it...
My brother worked for the biggest Alfa dealership in South Africa during the 90’s and this is exactly what all their clientele did 😂😂😂

I learned a long time ago if something electrical isn't working as it should, always check the wires first. Seems in this video, you too learned that valuable life lesson! It's ended up saving me tons of time (and money).

The highs and lows this car has given you are immense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so deflated when you thought you’d blown another engine. I know we only caught a segment of it but Tony obviously did the dad chat off camera and also just got to work and looked to see if there was anything other than the engine blowing. For Mat not even being able to work on the car as his emotions were just at rock bottom says it all. The elation and pure relief when Tony found the pipe that had blown off just goes to show that Mat puts his heart and soul into every build and with a dad like Tony (calm, just gets on with it ) but also the passion in the builds it’s the perfect team. It’s was never going to beat the McLaren at the quarter mile (unless it was raining, then the 4wd might have just got him over the line first) The result is not important, what a car, what a build and what emotions. 👍🇬🇧
I have subscribed to this channel since the TT days. This is the first time I've seen Mat nearly break... This RS6 has pushed the team to their limits like no other car has done. Yet the result, as always, is "Hard work beats talent".... Brilliant episode this is 👌

It's so awesome to have your dad by your side helping you with such an amazing car. We only have the RS3, RS5 and RS7s here in US. One thing I'd like to mention is the RS7 engine can handle over 800hp on the stock block and you can get the DSG tuned as well to handle the power, if anything that beast has had its wings clipped and could had handled that 570S had it been tuned to be out for blood. It's so fuckin sweet though!
We do have RS6 Avants here. I know a guy who has one.
