This is not a homelessness issue. The problem is not people lacking housing. If you give these people a mansion and a butler, they will burn the place down and go back to the streets in about an hour.

Typical excuse from the advocate, you give them a entire parking lot full of new campers. They trashed them up in a week and still continued to terrorize the city. Homeless is more of mental state then it is an unfortunate situation. Like the guy said they have mental issues and you can’t just let them roam the street like that…

Having lived in the Bay Area and then moved after several years, this is detrimental and sad to the human condition. San Francisco used to be a great city but now is a place of homelessness, crime, and abandonment. The problem of homelessness can be solved. Finland did it and other countries have. We should learn from other countries, but SFO supervisors and Mayor London Breed will not fix the issue. You know how much money CA has spent on CA taxpayers? 10 Billion, yes 10 billion, and you can not solve the problem and they are now asking more money from CA taxpayers - nothing like Democrats to continue to want more money from CA taxpayers. No oversight, corruption, and the same politicians blaming the State government or others, but never their own policies. How about starting a real conversation to solve the problem.
    1. Stop all social aid to the homeless. (This will stop Oregon and Washington State from shipping their homelessness to CA).
    2. You can only get aid in California after you have been a resident for 4 years and worked in California.
    3. If you are homeless in California, you would be required to go to a shelter, if you refuse you will go to jail.
    4. The city would be required to build shelter from existing empty State or abandoned buildings.
    5. Current state funding from the State would support these temporary shelters.
    6. Shelters would be governed by a coalition of aides who would live in these shelters: Drug addiction counselor,s nutrition counselor, job counselor, police, etc.
    7. A homeless person would be required to get a job and return to the shelter. A job would be provided under a program.
    8. A homeless person would progress from a shelter to an apartment and continue counseling as they progress from homelessness to back into society.
    9. Counseling could continue as long as it was needed.
How much have we lost in not supporting a homeless person returning to society and contributing? If Democrats in Sacramento and the coalition of homelessness really cared for the life of a homeless person we would not be having this conversation.

Yeah ironically the city made it the homeowners responsibility for all damage/repair necessary to the sidewalk in front of their house (or apartment complex) but if some homeless guy sets up shop... welp you're screwed... oh yeah you are still responsible for keeping the sidewalk clean too.

I absolutely despise the homeless with every fiber of my being.
I am at my New Mexico house for a week or so.
I was looking after the neighbors' kids on Saturday after the dad of the mom had a stroke on Saturday afternoon and was taken to a hospital in Las Cruces then airlifted to a hospital in El Paso, so they went down there to see him.
The kids wanted to go to Sonic on Saturday night. We don't have such crap as that here in Mesilla.
But there is a Sonic in Las Cruces about two and a half miles away.
Sonic, as it turns out, is a whacked diner type restaurant in which you order from your car and they bring the food out to your car. Not a drive through. One of the employees was skating for Christ's sake, though the rest weren't.
Anyway, while I was trying to order for the bratty kids, who kept changing their minds about what they wanted, some smelly, disgusting, loud, strung out homeless jackass was aggressively harassing me incessantly for money and then wanting me to buy him food.
I lost the debit card I used. I just figured that out this morning. I've never lost a card in my life, and it was a total pain to have to cancel it. And now wait for the replacement.
And then I found the debit card which I had hidden lest that obnoxious a-hat steal it.
And I put the blame squarely on that overbearing, pushy sack of 💩 in Las Cruces.
Thank God we don't have them two miles away here in Mesilla.
We don't have them in my neighborhood in Pacific Palisades in L.A. either.
Tell me how euthanizing them would not benefit every single individual on 🌎 including them.
    You cannot because it would.
And don't tell me I may become homeless because I won't. I buy all my houses all-cash, I have given hundreds of thousands to charities, I don't owe one cent to anyone, and I am worth several million.
