Paraplegic Quadriplegic Wheelchair Curb Failure, Crash, falling out of my chair

I'm a C5 incomplete, T7 spinal cord injury person and today I was practicing going up and down curbs with my therapists when it all went wrong and I fell out of my chair. My SmartDrive MX2 stayed connected to the chair and because the connection to the chair rotates, it moves freely, allowing me to crash.
The weight of the smartdrive (12 pounds) is also probably why it was harder for me to get up the curb.

Learning how to fall safely is also part of learning how to use a wheelchair. Not a fun part, but definitely a part. Better to have it happen when they are there to assist him.

Ha ! I fell twice on my own. I lay on my side and then my son scoots the chair under me like I'm just sideways. Once that is done they just lifted the side back up on the wheels. Rather simple.

I wonder if it was the Smart Drive itself that contributed to him actually falling backwards because that is what got stuck on the ground. He would have just tipped if it were him...but he lost everything after the Smart Drive got stuck.

Dude the smartdrive has put me on my ass before as well man.. kinda sketchy at times and unreliable all the time when I actually need it lol. I’m thinking of trying the firefly front attachment out (idk if that might be and issue for quads though)
