My 16 year daughter told me I smell like a “timbit” (my Canadian girls will know what that is when I wore Bianco Latte. I sprayed it upstairs and she was downstairs and thought I had purchased Timbits (doughnut holes) all the way from the second floor. That fragrance is potent and a literal vanilla cake doughnut 🍩 🍰 gourmand
It’s amazing how tastes can change over time. I refused to let myself enjoy sweet scents as a teenager and in my 20s (I guess I had a point to prove or something), but I’m fully embracing my suppressed love of the sugary good stuff in my 30s. I never expected one of my ride-or-die fragrances to be called Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar… but here we are! Excited to try some of the others you mentioned too.
Thanks Anne! I'm not the biggest sweet fan either but I so appreciate the great variety of fragrance reviews you give us. I enjoy Flowerbomb and Fancy & I'm going to get Yum on the next sale.
My sweetest today is Mango Skin but over Ingenious Ginger, as always. Brilliant combo and the I.G never needs refreshing, so you can just top up Mango Skin. REQUEST: I'd love your take on perfumes for evening /dates that can be layered over day /office fragrances, as most of us go out after work, straight from the office for a meal or drink, or maybe a date, usually on a Friday but we don't get to shower first. xx
I have been watching your videos and I seem to enjoy a lot of the fragrances you mention. Jessica Simpson is one of my OG favorites. Thanks for including a range of prices as well.
Amazing analysis! Thanks! Ok I just got a decant of Une Nuit Nomad's Melt My Heart cologne. Wow!!! It has to be the best chocolate frag out there without a doubt. I have loaded it on daily since I got it 1 week ago and plan on getting more. I saw the full bottle of Melt My Heart going for $600 for 50ml !! Ouch but I think it is worth every penny. I really love the iris note in this. It is very buttery and blends so well. I do get the Absinthe note and love this too. The Absinthe hangs around for about an hour. The other notes kind of pull it away to an aromatic and fresh path that is quite appealing. I also just got Une Nuit Nomad's Memory Hotel. Wow! This is a soft spice and so classy! I love the Carnation note a ton. I suspect Clove chemical to give Carnation-like presence. I wonder what smelling Carnation by itself is like. The tobacco is so well blended and smooth and this frag is a touch sweet. I am also really loving my decant of Iris Torrfie by Guerlain. I rate this in top 3 on Guerlain's very long house list IMO. I have Dior Homme Intense and this is even better to me. It has about 70% the smell of DHI. I like the coffee touch added and it is a bit more dark than DHI.
I love this selection. Bianco latte is definitely my favorite of the bunch. I layered it with l'amour éternel from Maissa last week-end and got sooo many compliments
I’m not a huge sweet person but I do have Hufflepuff and Bianco Latte (at your suggestion). I sampled Flowerbomb awhile back and it didn’t get much use but I ordered Flowerbomb Dew and I like that one.
Anne, you should give Ranger Station's Woodland Rose a sniff. They are a Nashville fragrance house which I had never heard of until today when I received a free sample from Decant Planet. It's a woodsy modern rose that you might find intriguing. 🙂
I also love Bianco Latte, but if I get up close I get a synthetic feel, but Gioiosa from Profumum Roma is better for me, because it's way smoother and really feels like a gourmand ❤️
I got to try the new KayAli the other day while on vacation but no travel size in stock so I may just have to order a full size. It’s La Belle without everything that makes that one a little skreechty for me.
The cream note in gossip night only says whipped cream on fragrantica . It’s actually just supposed to be cream according to the brand . Fragrantica takes these liberties and omissions more often than people notice. I always cross reference the brands listed notes since fragrantica is like only 90% right 😂
@@AnneLaurendefinitely one of my more nit picky finds😂 the omission or addition of a wrong note is more the issue I have with them , but such a great resource nonetheless
The sweetest perfume in my collection is Explicite (Ex Nihilo). It is also one of my favorites and I don’t understand why no one talks about it. It opens with Nutmeg & Pink Pepper at the top with Peony, Lily of the Valley & Praline in the mid, on a gorgeous base of Vanilla, Sandalwood and Amber. Normally I not a big fan of praline but here it’s done perfectly.
I have only started collecting fragrances from designer to niche a few years ago. When you featured Jessica Simpson’s fragrance, I remember that she is one of the famous personalities that launched their fragrance line in the early 2000s. I first found hers in Sephora in Manhattan in 2004 and i remember her fragrances to be really sweet but as realistic gourmands and not a cheap artificial way. The one that you featured is now in a new packaging which I might need to revisit soonest.
Although I’m not a gourmand girlie, I truly feel like I could vibe with a good vanilla fragrance, I’ve just got to find that ✨perfect one✨ for me! Love this video! 🥰 🫶
Nice video! As a French speaker, however, I wanted to share a quick note on the pronunciation of ‘Coquin’ in Gourmand Coquin! ‘Gourmand’ is masculine which means ‘Coquin’ has to be too, so we would pronounce the latter as [ko ka(n)]. If the name were feminine, we would use ‘Coquine’, and pronounce it instead as [ko kee(n)]. I recall in a previous video you’re telling us that you like to pronounce the names of brands and their perfumes correctly so I thought I’d help out as I know GC is one of your favs! 🤍
I don’t get it..why is gourmand masculine? And the perfume is marketed to women (understanding all frags are unisex nowadays) but all that said, this feels wrong to me 🤷🏼♀️
I must try Dulce Diablo right now ! When it comes to Lorenzo Pazzaglia, I’m debating between Sugar Kisses or Van Extasyx. I’ve smelled the later one, but I need to get my nose on sugar kisses to decide.
I have 4 from this list and I’m waiting for Hufflepuff to go on sale. I blew through my decant and I’m hoping HOS will discount it soon. Love your descriptions Anne and I love my sweet fragrances!😍
Please please pleeeease review the Amouage Guidance 46. I so wanted to like the OG Guidance and its longevity is screaming my name. But there is just something that is so OFF for me. So curious to hear your views on the Guidance 46.
The sweetest of my collection is Be extra delicious from DKNY and I’ve finished Eau so sweet from Marc Jacob, same profile. I love rasberry with sugar. Any recommendation?
Banana Republic’s Rosewood Amor has both notes mixed with a BR540 style DNA if you like that. It’s fairly close wearing to the skin, so it does well if you want to be sweet without being cloying.
Hi Anne, I bought 3 perfumes from your recommendations and they smelled amazing on first day but due to internet hypes for inhouse maceration, I too tried it by Unscrewing the cap and putting my bottles in dark for a month. Now my perfumes have lost all it's notes and become water like. Is there anyway I can recover or reverse the damage of these perfumes? Please help 🥺🥺🥺
Oh nooo 😩 When it comes to affordable middle eastern perfumes (it's not necessary to do this with other fragrances because they tend to arrive ready to go. With affordable middle eastern perfumes, they often sell them as soon as they're packaged, so they haven't had time to mature), I just like to spray them 10 times and have them sit for a month because this naturally introduces a very small amount of oxygen into the bottle, allowing the fragrance to mature. You don't want to unscrew the sprayer from the bottle and leave it open to air because being completely exposed causes it to age at an accelerated rate and then it will ruin your perfume :(
See to me gritti was a peach that was ruined a little by the caramel, i wanted it more peachy, not as creamy. I still like it, just wanted to love it. Bianco latte is yummy! Not a fan of flowerbomb, it’s kind of floral mature to me.
@@AnneLauren I was waiting for a scent memory, like you were wearing the perfume and a baby hummingbird floated down and kissed your cheek. Then your response, a matter of fact, “I don’t know” and.I.lost.it.
An unexpected sweet fragrance I fell in love with that you may enjoy is Delizia de Marshmallow by Kyse Perfumes. It smells exactly like marshmallow fluff and is the most airy sugary sweet perfume I own. ❤ 🧁🍭
You’re like a real life Disney Princess😍😍😍✨

My go to scent for this whole month is Kayali Vanilla Rock Sugar Candy layered with BR540. I cannot get enough of it 😩

Im a sucker for sweet scents, so I think everything in my collection qualifies 😅

Flowerbomb Nectar and Pink Sugar are two of the sweetest fragrances in my collection. I absolutely love Van Exstasyx...it's so GOOD!
