How A Well-Written Weapon improves Storytelling (no it doesn't talk)

i said the hammer thing last minute but actually I think it is my favorite weapon after all. Hammers don't all look the same, it could be thor's hammer or a mix of a hammer and an axe, a hammer usually is a mix of a hammer and crowbar in the back, amazing. Also I love Oldboy. they ain't. they're like batons. i don't know how this idea that sais are knives came about, probably from stuff like TMNT that have severely americanized foreign concepts and prefer to bridge gaps with simpler explanations. Sais are way cooler than that! They're for catching weapons, and parrying, and the fact that they have no blade means they need little to no maintenance. They were traditionally used as police (samurai) implements for disarming and detaining without outright killing. You might be like okay wow, I thought I was a nerd, that's just cringe bro, but this is what it's about-- exploring parts of our human heritage that we've forgotten the truth of. I do like the overall point you're making, but it does make the whole point about three "blades" in one weapon aligning with the rash hothead of the group kind of silly, don't you think?
