⚙️ Shout out to everyone who turned out Thursday afternoon for the School of Engineering's Engineering Technology (ET) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) 350 Wind Generator Project Fair. Given a pound of wire, a pound of plastic filament, four magnets and a few other miscellaneous items, cadets demonstrated their engineering prowess by designing generators to connect to a turbine and test in a wind tunnel💨
🤝 Working in teams of two or three, 55 generators were individually built with 3D-printed housings and rotors. The best generator from each team was then entered into a competition with 20 other teams. Generators were judged by several factors including most power produced at two different wind speeds and the lowest wind speed necessary to produce 0.1 watt ⚡️
