What maresca sees in Dewsbury is the fluidity & been precise at the centre. These coaches sees football like puzzle. If you don't put in the right application they everything falls off. It doesn't really require high profile players. Just apply the right formation, using players fit to execute that plan & be consistent doing that. You'll get to the top trust me

Yea but the issue is that the squad wasn't Maresca's choosing. So how do you know each player on the squad will fit well in his formation, barring KDH? That's primarily why coaches haven't lasted under this new ownership because the SDs are buying players to their liking, not the coach.

It seems some/many fans are confused about why we bought KDH for 30mil. And why its a barging. It all starts with the fact that the club is "open" to sell Gallagher for the right amount(50 valueation by the club). If Conor would renew/extent his current contract its safe to assume he would demand something in the range of 8-9mil a year in wages. He is a vice cpt for the club. England international, young and almost never injured. That ~9mil brings him in the bracket of Reece, Enzo, Caicedo, Palmer and other top earners. Below them but in reasonable range. And a Top10 Spot in the wage structur.
Now we buy Estevao and pay fixed 35mil. Paez for 9mil. Combined approx 44mil. We dont account for the addons because of simplicity. We have 6mil from Gallaghers incoming fee left. Now KDH comes into the frame. His reported wages at Leichester are 20k/week. We are Chelsea. We pay bags. He gets now triple = 60k/week. So compared to Gallagher we save approx 100k/week in wages. Thats 5mil/year or 30mil over the 6 year contract for KDH. WOW he just paid for himself just by reduced wages. And the 6mil pocket Change is enough to buy Guiu. Shocking i know.
So after all selling Gallagher for 50mil and saving his higher wages the club gets in return: 2 Worldclass Talents aka Wonderkids. One kinda like to like replacement for Gallaghers Position. And a young Striker who will increase his value easy to +20mil just by getting to 2 decents loans.
And thats Ladies&Gents is Chelsea´s Transfer Strategy.
    - Buy "cheap talents" for reasonable fees and trade them in later down the line with profit. F.e. D.Fofana bought for €10mil and now worth about 20-25mil pounds.
    - Sell every year 1 or 2 Academy Players to make 30mil profit. They cover the amortisation for Enzo+Caicedo(about 30mil a year on 7yr contracts for both). Amori Hatchinson this year.
    - Sell more Academy Players to increase pure profit for big cash injections when needed to sign more expensiv players(above 50mil id say). We try so hard to sell Connor for almost 2yrs now.
    - Dont sign players for cash if they dont hold a good resell value(i.e. too old, too high wages makes them harder to sell). Tosin on a free comes straight to mind.
    - Pray that at least 1 of your Wonderkid Army realy explodes and turns into a +100mil player. I guess we hit the jackpot with Paez. He got imo all what it takes to claim that spot in world football. I dont trust young fragile brazilians. Could just be the next Reinier. Big hype back then. Bought by Real for 30Ms. Never hit the ground. And now on his forever loan journy.

Mate, let’s not pretend to be finance gurus. We’re football fans. We fall in love with what we see on the pitch, not the business behind it all. With your well articulated logic, you’d be happy seeing the board sell Cole Palmer for £80m+ just to bring in some wonder kid for a fraction of the price because “it’s good business”. We’re not Brighton. We don’t flip players. Conor has been the most consistent player for Chelsea last season. If it wasn’t for Palmer, he would’ve been our best player for last season. The board may have asked what profile he wants, then thought let's see if he gets the guy who did the best under him will it be the best option. This is also a transitional year and Dewsbury Hall can play major minutes while the rest of the guys learn the style. Then in a year he takes a back seat, chipping in when needed and we sell him on at 26/27 for a decent return.

Mudryk and Sterling might have had a similar season for us as last season even with the Enzo surgery and recovery, but no way is last season repeating itself again for them and i know they appreciate the club for bringing in a KDH for them.

  • @SpiritualLivingPlatform

I like what i see in this player, i played in the midfield my entire soccer career,, there are differences between a defensive 8 and an offensive 8. So when yo have a balance defense and a Caceido, KDH will make a huge difference. When we have an uncertain defense, Galagheris the one to call. That is my humble opinion. But he is a good player to have.

Dude, this moving the needle point you make is silly. You mention the investment in young guys, well, their development is what is supposed to move the needle. The young guys develop and get better and the club brings in a bit of experience here and there to help them on their way whilst providing squad depth to a team that got hurt running out onto the pitch last season. We all know the club told Maresca that he needs to make Enzo, Caicedo, and Lavia work based on the investment that was made into those players. Can KDH come on and compliment those players, help them develop, help them learn the system, and play alongside those guys? Yes. That doesn't sound like a wasted signing to me.

One thing that Nini you’re missing is the fact that he is left footed and that’s a big difference than a right footed midfielder. It gives us balance and at the same time yes Nkunku can play in the midfield but it doesn’t give us balance when it comes to offense and defense. Dewsbury is a box to box and has a higher work rate than nkunku. I’d take him over Gallagher and Carney as well. You want experience and now you crying about loosing some young prospects. At Chelsea besides a few three or four players, everyone else has a high ceiling. Just support the team and see what happens.

I think also the fact Chelsea have spent so much money on younger players makes us forget the standard. DBH throughout the season was excellent consistent. Santos didn’t even play at Notts Casedi sub par at Leicester UGO similarly . Lavia played one game. These players can not be trusted. To get top 4 you need reliable players he’s 25 he knows how to take care of himself he won’t be breaking down 3 seasons in a row 30+ games every squad needs players like this. He’s technically better than Gallagher and he offers a left foot aswell. The same Gallagher was in the championship a few seasons ago he didn’t come close even the eze player we’re talking about wasn’t as good. Enzo Fernandez was on no one’s radar a year ago then we paid 100+ for him. Gyokeres was in championship a year ago now Chelsea would play 70m for him. Emotions aside we can’t talent hoard big potential yes but they have to earn their chance just like the Reece the mounts even Palmer.

Every time he’s come on he’s either impressed or scored a goal. Bangers too. He’s also versatile. Not only can he play 10 but he can also play box to box. He said it himself that a box to box 8 is his best position. We bought him for 20 mil so AC Milan better cough up at least 35 mil or I don’t see how this makes sense. This will be great for players like Nkunku, Mudryk and Sterling who play from the LW and LF roles and dont expect to drop deep. The movement between KDH and these guys would be synergistic like the way Palmer and Madueke connect on the Right.
