- Today I'm so excited to share my Reading Journal Setup for Summer, where we're creating the cover layout for the Quarter and doing a wrap-up of some books I've been reading recently.
We're continuing with the scrapbooking style approach for the decorations I've enjoyed for this journal. It takes less time than creating drawings or decorations yourself, and it also gives me a purpose to use my growing collection of tapes and prints, haha.

No one can stop me from having a reading journal (I also read slowly, for now it's for about 1-1.5 books in a couple of months) =) But I don't write reviews, so I have my reading journal inside of my regular journal/planner, and I love it)
That sounds like a great system! I plan on continuing this journal for at least one or two years more. I'm excited to make it super thick, haha!

Thank you so much! 😍 I love me some flowers too but for some reason black is the dominating color in my reading journal, haha! It always seems to fit the type of books I read.
Loved this set up! also I would honestly say Assassins blade isn't necessary per say but You get a lot more context for a lot of the characters we meet mostly later on in the series and their history with the main character and some comments made in KOA will make more sense :) (theres a few character we meet quite early on in the series too though)
Love your spreads for you reading journal. You always make your pages look so very beautiful! I would not be worried about how much or how little you read. It is a very personal experience. I think it is wonderful that a person reads at all so keep doing what you are doing. It is perfect!!! I have read a few very good books lately but they are very different from the genre you read. I am not really into fantasy. I read “The Women,” by Kristin Hannah. What an amazing book!!!! It is quite a long book and I devoured it in 5 days. I just had to know what happened!! I also read a memoir my Reyna Grande called, “The Distance Between Us.” It was a beautifully told story about Reyna who grew up very poor in Mexico mostly with her mother because her father was always in the USA working to make money for the family. It is a story about hope even though the main characters go through some really tough times. Really good book. Enjoy the rest of your summer and thank you for a great video!!❤❤❤
I am actually in the process of reading the Flesh and Fire series. Loved the first book, the second book was ok, but I'm struggling with getting through the third book. I love the concept of the story, but the third book has a trope that I despise and while I want to know what ultimately happens it's a huge struggle for me (which is a shame because I've loved a lot of other works from Armentrout).
I really like the 3rd quarter cover page you made. It's so nice to see how you collage things, and the nice summery colours are a joy.

I've read some comments too saying that Flesh and Fire continues for too long (the same problem I think the Blood and Ash series has) and the later books are just not the same as the first ones. I think I'll start the series at some point and just quit at any point I feel like, without adding too much pressure to finish everything.
@@JournalAway That sounds like a good way to go about it. I'll still give the series a go as I hate leaving things unfinished, but if I really just continue to struggle with the third book I might finally just DNF it and move on to something I'll actually enjoy reading.
I have to admit I almost considered skipping Tower of Dawn when I found out (before starting to read it) it was mainly about my least favourite character of the series. But I'm glad I gave it a try as it ended up being my favourite book in the series 😂 Even though I did not "forgive" my least favourite character, he's still very much that, but instead I fell in love with Sartaq and that side of the story.

I loved tower of dawn . It was going to be a novella originally but it became a vital instalment in the series.. and a full on novel..

I am rereading it I think for the second time like after taking a very long break from sjm.. lol and annotating it for the first time... And I loveeeed it... Then I went on to the series reread.. lol on acowar currently..

I’m in the middle of reading The Wicked King from The Cruel Prince series
I've heard many people talk about this series! I think I might start it at some point, though YA is not my favorite genre especially in the Romantasy category, haha!

@@1CatpaccinoI loved that trilogy.. the third book was a bit of a let down in some bits but overall the trilogy is good... Like I like holly's storytelling basically...
I really struggle with 3rd person present tense too, I find it distracting
