    Ouch! Don't use pliers on the shaft. Use side cutters on the tip of the thread to avoid scratching the shaft. That would damage the oring in the long run. Smoothness of the shaft to oring is king.

    I just did the same exact thing to a set of cheap internal spring shocks, the cool thing about these friction shocks you can quickly swap different springs without getting oil everywhere.

      One thing to note, the shocks i got are listed as longer length than they actually are. To get 100mm shocks, they were sold as 112mm

    I use pen springs Keeps the body from unloading

      Did it cure some of the torque twist? The pen springs go inside on the shaft, right?

    what if i keep using external spring? does it change something? or should i just use 2 shocks? 1 normal shock and 1 dropshock? need your response. thank you

    kalau tetep pakai per luar gimana? bakal merubah sesuatu gak? atau pakai 2 shock aja? 1nya shock biasa, 1 nya lagi pake drop shock?

    I bought a set from amazon and putting oil in them was useless because the plastic pistons have no holes. Hence, the compression was very hard with oil. I wanted to return them but After watching your video, you inspired me to do the same thing with mine. Their 90mm shocks. Can you please tell me the correct measurement of springs I should use for mine?

    • @HoodPJRC
      @HoodPJRC  Před 2 lety

      you can use spring with wire diameter of 0.5mm. the diameter of spring should be 6mm. the length of spring is based on your shock length. 😀

    Good tips sir...did u fill with oil shock after that,sir?

    • @HoodPJRC
      @HoodPJRC  Před 2 lety +2

      currently i did not fill any shock oil. I am planning to fill it in and compare the performance of the shock with and without oil.

    This mod converts the shock to internal spring so you do not need the external springs installed correct? Just making sure... Subbed and liked!

    • @HoodPJRC
      @HoodPJRC  Před 2 lety

      Yes. only internal spring are used

  • @adco8672
    @adco8672 Před 2 lety +1

    I’m assuming if you wanted it half way sprung you’d just cut the spring in half?

  • @adco8672
    @adco8672 Před 2 lety +1

    What’s the total length after the modification?

    • @HoodPJRC
      @HoodPJRC  Před 2 lety +1

      Its 80mm. The shock origanal length is 110mm
