I've seen many comments hating on jade and telling that his character is very annoying but it all matters about people's perception I think. I relate to jade sooo much because I try to always be there for others but I have no one. Always try to be good, kind and left alone. A true middleman in that sense because unlucky in life and love, always in one sided love. It makes sense about his hesitation because he can't believe someone so good can fall in love with him, it all feels like a dream, such nice dream he thinks he will be dragged to reality anytime. So all the sweethearts like jade out there , hoping we find our Mai.
We get why he is the way he is but it can still be annoying

The scene where Jade cried moved my heart , it clearly shows he loves Mai so much but he is scared . No matter what one says your insecurities sometimes gets best of you and may be for someone it's just small problem but for you it ain't .Jade character is that of doll who smiles and looks wonderful to everyone but deep down it feels ugly and wished it doesn't deserve anything.

It's good Jade finally realized his feelings for Mai are more important than his fear of messing up. It's just not the good method though. Acting like nothing happened and not warning Mai that you're going to try and make up for your mistakes and win him back is the worst thing to do. I mean, from Mai's point of view, it's been a week of high tension between the two of you and suddenly you act all goofy and try to approach him again, being overly nice... Either you're palying with him or you just selfishly want to befriend him again without a care for his feelings and in those two cases, there is neither explanations of excuses of any kind... Jade is lucky Mai is not harsher than "I'm busy". Oh and by the way, not even knowing how he likes his coffee with how long you two worked together ? Turn out king is the mastermind behind this, I know it, Mai is a super green flag person, he won't have any thought to do that if someone not suggest him to do that. You can see the way he pause many times and has a contemplating expression about should he try what king's suggest or not cause mai is someone who never dare to hurt Jade even for a little 😔

Why there's a lot of comments here that are lowkey saying that they hate Jade? If u ever experienced the trauma he's been thru, you'd probably understand why is it so hard to trust and fall in love again. Mai's still like just starting to know what is the REAL/TRUE meaning of LOVE (but I still feel bad for him fr, he don't deserves it) we all know at first that Jade is still afraid to show that he is jealous bc his past relationship ends with that (some) nonsense reasons. We can not blame him. He do care about Mai, but he's in a difficult situation between just loving and trusting himself or falling in love again, he's scared that his past might repeat itself : ) y'all are invalidating his feelings and being one-sided.
