6:01 I agree with the book. I don’t recall the article but saw on national headlines that American literacy rates have declined due to the pandemic within education. The fact they are not keeping the literature aspect of the company which was a huge foundation of educating everyone is heart breaking 😢
I think I saw on Amazon that her “Meet Kavi” hard cover book is coming, so hopefully we will get a better version of her story.
I agree on the book. I read it in like 15 minutes and was left feeling like I hadn’t read anything at all.
I LOVE her pyjamas. I never buy pyjamas. But these are adorable!

Lol how everything is plastic, I agree with what you said about the newer items being less quality. The OG historical character items are so underrated. They’re all amazinggg quality and I don’t mind spending the extra money on them and neither did my parents. I think this was part of the original allure of American girl doll brand. Such great quality and realistic details. Many of these items are timeless and still are around today lasting time and play. Sad to think about the longevity of the toys the little girls and boys now get. They’ll probably break before they outgrow them. (If they do 😂)

As for the book, I know she comes with a journal, but they actually are releasing a Kavi book later in March. The first chapter is up online for free. I'm not entirely sure why they didn't release it with her but I do know she will get a real book. It's called It's Showtime, Kavi and is the typical Girl of The Year book that is much more interesting than the journal.
9:43 let’s face it, I want Kavi just for this outfit 😂 I want American girl to do more cultural outfits. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve loved cultural dress since I was a kid. Like, give me beautiful saris, kimonos, hanboks, and dirndls and stuff to put my dolls in 🙏🏻
tenneys stage definitely could’ve been better but i have it and it’s wood! it’s hard to move around, i can’t believe they are charging all that money for just plastic… upsetting

I don’t change the outfits of The Girl of the Year. I love her collection. All beautiful.
Yoga is such a part of the culture and the kids are taking it in school now for PE I think it was a good idea to do so (include it with her story and clothing). Also it might encourage kids to take it, and it may help with all the stress they have. Just some thoughts here. Thank you for doing this channel for adults!

Totally agree about the Walmart aspect for recording studio… I miss the quality of early to mid 2000s… she’s a beautiful doll, but the quality has gone downhill for sure…

Hello! I am a boy who is an American Girl fan. My parents are very supportive of me enjoying dolls. I am very happy that they think that, but I only have one American Girl doll. My parents claim that I “am to old to get more dolls” So, I have “exceeded” the limit to my dolls and they DO NOT want me to have anymore. Do you support their choice? It really sucks to see a beautiful doll and know that I will not have it anytime soon. Also, I love your videos!
Her PJs are like seriously childish, I get that she is a kid but those look like something I would have worn in kindergarten. You can do bright and colorful without it looking like it should belong to a wellie wisher.

I love the doll but hate the meet outfit! I found Kavi for sale on eBay in just her undies and I bought her. I don't want that outfit at all. The only outfit I kind of like is the one with the fake fur jacket. I don't like the pink pants that come with it. They look cheap!

Nice video and I agree with a lot of your assessment. I don't mind the yoga outfit and pajamas although they're not my favorite pieces. I pretty much love all of her collection except the stage set and recording studio. Too plasticky and Our Generation could make them for a third of that price. How is Kavi supposed to sit on that little stool anyhow? I also don't care for her meet hairstyle or her journal but those are pretty small nitpicks. Overall I think she's darling and I can't wait to get her and some of her outfits.

Hi Chris i haven't gotten My kavi doll in the mail yet i ordered her on January 3rd or 4th.with seeing her meet outfit online i love the camo type mesh top,the pants im fine with and the pink Sneakers will work for every outfit for all my dolls. Then i love she has long hair. I haven't read the book yet and I've read dork diaries books alot last year so good to know about her book. Her PJs remind me of 4th of July. I want the yoga outfit we haven't had a goty have yoga be apart of her storyline. Then Bollywood outfit is coming home with me the next Time i order, then i love her song writing Assccories then for her regular I don't think i want them but i love that she has a planner because i use a planner. I fill other then the Bollywood outfit that everything is a repaint and reused from previous iteams from previous GOTY. I feel the 90s twins were meant to be GOTY this year because i watched someone's video talking about the iteams that their going to be having in their colloction. A bedroom stuff, outfits for tennis and alot of other stuff the only thing that seems 90s is the pizza hut book it set.
I really liked the doll! I liked the meet shoes but that’s it from her meet outfit. The PJ’s are cute but kind of boring. I think they could have been more creative
Thanks for your video. It was great. 💕 I'm wondering with the journal if they aren't targeting a different base now. Perhaps those that don't have an interest in reading, are dyslexic, or who may not have the time to read a book. I have read none of AG's books, although I have gotten some, but I would be interested in looking at a journal.
I do not like her pajamas either! corrine’s pajamas were amazing. i, like you, think that there was no reason to throw in the yoga outfit. i don’t like the yoga leggings because they are so thin like the our generation/my life as clothes! i think kavi is so adorable! i wish that she did not have a part either i would rather her hair be like Mckenna’s with no part. i really liked your video! i always love your videos, haha!
I honestly am disappointed with this doll because the hair should have been longer n more luxurious. The face mold is the same. She seems boring! I really was looking forward to something extraordinary.
