- In this video join me as Alandra starts going to school. It has been a difficult transition for me. She does a lot of activities in the school and has learnt a lot of activities. It only seems yesterday that she started walking. In the evenings we walk back. Also, some of the peas I had in the garden were ready to harvest.

I remember how I sent my son to school…same language problem
we used to give him car keys and leave him in school…
he was feeling lonely but after a few weeks all was set and
then the way he spoke English no one could understand
with an awesome American accent….it was amazing…kids
learn quickly so don’t worry Alandra will be a star in school.

I live in England for nearly 22 years. i want my children to speak in tamil and teach them our tradition. we know the importance of tamil only when we live in abroad.
As you say, I dont think any parents admire their children speaking in English. its the main language here. They automatically started to speak in english when they start schooling and you have no control over it. Saying that, I taught my son to read and write Tamil at home. Parents in India only want their children to speak in English and dress like westerners. Shame on them.
I think all mommies go through this experience, my son in 16yrs old but memories remain so fresh, we dropped him the first day and I was in tears he ran inside even without saying bye and we waited outside, but the biggest twist was when the rest cried and settled after few days, my son started the drama of crying but the Montessori school was so good and pacified the children by trying to understand and calm him and made us parents too comfortable! Memories so fresh! Thanks for kindling it, Steffi!☺️😊
