If Astradyne is not played at my funeral, I'll refuse to attend, period.
Excellent!!!
me as well I will get up and walk out 😊
Warren Cann will have to be behind the drums because he’s hot at any age & Billy Currie ABSOLUTELY MUST be on keyboards & violin / viola for obvious reasons
The reports of your demise are greatly exaggerated! ❤
Ha, great comment!
Btw, I won't attend mine if "I remember (death in the afternoon)", Visage's "The damned don't cry" and Charly Garcia's "Ojos de video tape" aren't played either.
What amasterpiece this album is. Why have I not listened for 30 years plus? Life gets in the way. The kids these days don't know what they missed.
Today's youth will never associate this with what we experienced.
I'm 16 and I like this. We didn't miss anything. We can still listen to this and lots of other albums like it, in fact we can listen a lot easier than people in 1980 could. If you mean that kids these days missed out on the 80s, that is true but people can't really control when they were born.
🫧Dancing at the clubs 1980-84 this was part of the soundtrack of that time...and oh what a time it was...🫧🩵
'Vienna' is a masterpiece, every song on the album is incredibly well composed, played and produced, thanks to Conny Plank who produced this album with members of Ultravox. Midge Ure contributed a lot to the new sound after the departure of John Foxx. This is one of those albums that still sound fresh after 43 years.
Rage in Eden is fantastic as well.
@@jagatiello6900 Amazing album I don't know which one is better.
Saw Ultravox at the peek of the 80's in Toronto,ON I think I regained my hearing about a week later, one of the best concerts I've seen.
Un album fantastico, un gruppo meraviglioso e la voce di Midge sopra tutti!
A Masterpiece! I Love every song. Ahead of it's time a classic of the 80's in my opinion the best decade in Modern music...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@garrickragon1232 🙉😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Most influential album by Midge Ure’s band Ultravox. Used to listen to it on vinyl a lot
Mr. X has that classic Kraftwerk production sound
John Foxx left Ultravox! and created "Metamatic". Billy Currie recruited Midge Ure and created "Vienna". For me, two of the finest albums ever, and for fans of electronic rock music, I think that it was a Win Win.
I saw Midge performing this album in its entirety at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 2019. It was one of the most beautiful nights of my life 🧡
Agree!
Most people talks about Foxx or Ure..only one will survive😅
Foxx is one of my big favourites but i also like Ure..Vienna and Rage in Eden are masterpieces🤘🤘
don't forget Warren Cann there since Tiger Lily days also IMO I wish they would have left the exclamation point making the name ULTRAVOX !
@@michaellorenzen8200 Those first two Ultravox albums are monsters... post glam / punk / electronic. Hard edged. Killer lyrics... which Ure could never quite aspire to. However, I treat them as different versions of the same band name. Both are remarkable. But Foxx's incarnation is nothing short of stunning and I feel grossly under appreciated, whereas Ure's U-Vox got plenty of kudos!
Sintetizadores, fantasticos y ELEGANTES.
it's a 42 minutes composition; absolutely love
I saw them in Coventry on this tour and they were mesmerising live. A brilliant album
Whoa 🌺 I can’t express the amount of great memories I’m having when listening to this. Aloha from Hawai’i 🌴
What an excellent punk-synth album! Swedish Radio only played the title track but the others are excellent and rocks more. Ultravox was the best synth band.
Great album, thank you for the memories !
Brilliant album
I couldn't agree more with you Denise. 🧡
Magnificent. I got it on pristine vinyl. Untouched and not heard for years. It's magnificent. Thanks for sharing........Mr X was my tune off this masterpiece.
And the crime of the century was that Joe Dolce's "Shaddap You Face" kept the single "Vienna" off the number one spot for three weeks ... 🤨
While you can date the music by the classic synth sounds, the music is timeless. This came out the year I was born, so this is my first time experiencing Ultravox and I agree, it's some of the best synthwave I have heard.
Spot on Michael. May I recommend the beautiful "Systems of Romance" album by the John Foxx led Ultravox! All the best buddy 🧡
Only cos you mess about with synthesizers... most people date it by who they were shagging or being sacked by ...
And suddenly proggy synth was born ! Midge Ure is a genius.
one of the biggest inspirations in my music career, i've been fascinated by this album for a decade now. the sounds create on of the best atmospheres i've ever heard on an album, period. not only that, it sounds so ahead of its time, it's hard to remember that this came out in 1980!
Sleepwalk always reminded me of the theme from the tv series: The Tomorrow People. Ace album. Been obsessed with Ultravox for 40 years
Grande nostalgie pour cet album, tjs aussi bien
Excellent!! Fantastic album...Great band!! ❤
One of the few vinyls i conserve up until now. And, it is fantastique! Thanks a lot!
素晴らしいバンドなのに、自分が1984年か1985年に行った中野サンプラザホールには400人くらいしかお客さんがいなかった。
でも彼らを気に入る若い人たちがどんどん出てくれるだろう。
I always enjoyed listening to this album on a rainy or cloudy day with a gray sky. Something about the mood it always put me in and I enjoyed it.
KISS、ジミヘン、TheWHO等だけからの逸脱のキッカケに感謝です❤
I remember listening to a few song from Ultravox on WFNX in Lynn, MA USA in the mid 80's as an older teen. Cool stuff, but never bought the albums. 35+ years later, jumping around CZcams I bumped into the "Return to Eden" vids and was blown away at the concert footage. I kept digging and found this gem tonight and I'm loving this album. Its never too late and I thank LowTech for this rip into the past. I just hope the next gens get to enjoy this stuff too.
Hi Lo Tec u have good taste & thank you...have a nice day
サウンドメイキングや世界観はmuseやRadioheadといった2000年代以降のバンドにも影響を与えていたんだろうなと想像する。素晴らしいぜ。
The cello just makes this perfect I love this album
Billy plays a viola
brilliant lp! and you can hear Conny Plank's production all over it- which is never a bad thing!
Yep. Good ears on that Conny.
Found this in the $1 budget section of a Record store recently...sealed
Jammy git!
Fantastic band. For me, Japan and Ultravox were the real gems of this period - but were overshadowed by Duran, Spandau and the Ants. This album still had a good heavy slightly punk guitar feel to it - a lot less electronic than OMD and Human League. Perhaps they fell between the cracks of a number of genres.
I completely agree with you Steve. Well said 🧡
Ultravox had 12 top 20 hits and Midge had 3
While The Ants had 8 top 20 hits and Adam 5
Spandau had 15 top 20 hits and that's it.
Admittedly the Ants and Adam and SB had several number ones.
There isn't a lot in it.
Japan were very much the least successful.
Couldn't agree more
To me that's the magic
Sleepwalk was always my ultimate on this album. oh so intense! synthpunk
The best of the eighties before it lost it's edge.
...Grandissimiiii 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Niezwykła płyta 📀 😊😊❤
In remembrance..... Gregg Shipston the man who turned me on to Ultravox and John Fox
Got into this band's music due to RUSH's mentioning it from time to time.
Wish I could go back them
Certified banger.
For me this is the best album money can buy
In 1980 having left school, I began work and I was spending money on albums almost as quickly as I was earning it.
"Vienna", "Telekon", "Travelogue" and "Metamatic" to name but a few.
The possibilities were just endless.
Best wishes Autumn 🧡
Western Promise really is a gem.
't'heir best. So happy to have seem them perform this live.
Sempre fantastico
💀.. Awww, Soo Good.., THANKS for sharing this..!! ..
Ваааау. Потрясающе! Эти ребята профессионалы. 👍
'Vienna', a song about Rigby's cat.
We live in strange times. On a touch on a screen we can summon the best music there is. And Ultravox are one of the best. No need for war and violence at this day and age. Don't know about you but I'd rather listen Ultravox than stay in a trench somewhere.
My album was stolen. I had my ultravox album when they first arrived.happy utube brings me back. Love forever 1981 to 2023 n forever
Vienna ist o er he Best!!!! ❤
that's just great
For sure so glad to be old 😂
There was so much more to 80's - & this was it? ❤
Amazing! 💜🖤
I could play this album with Gary Numan 's Telekon and OMD Dazzle Ships in a continuous time loop that creates a pocket universe of perfect sci - fi noir city scapes.
AGREE lol all I got at the moment...cause this is my first time hearing this 😮
omd I know Gary I know but midge ure? uhm he has my full attention
Thank you, kindred spirit
Thank you 🎵👌
ULTRAVOX 4 EVER
Vienna is one of the most exquisite, balanced and at the same time mysterious albums of the most essential synthpop. It's like what Kraftwerk would have done with pop harmonies, melodies and vocals. Unmissable sound adventure of images with a halo of expressionism.
Awesome 👍
I still love We Stood Still. It's kind of a heavy metal new wave, if I tried to call it something specific.
Dare I say far better than today's shit music . Yes I dare .
La New wave.... ❤
Didnt remember how good this sounds
Chris Cross 1942-2024 RIP
I listened to the other melody twice, for only ending up here instead.
I wonder if the tune "Mr. X" inspired the comic of the same name by the Hernandez Brothers.
neutraal 2023 music xxx.!uit het verlede.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
masterpiece
This gem has nothing to do with the likes of punk, its synthpop,im 65 in august, and know what punk is,ask mister johnny Lidon for example oke?😂❤
❤
Very nice low tec
🥰
I'm here from Bret Easton Ellis The Shards
Cet album a été l'album de la perdition pour Ultravox
Album de la perdition ? Comment ça ?
@@marcantoniucci2353 Ben, parce qu'après, il ont rapidement baissé le rideau
I could still lift a pencil up from the table for not dry it with any fork here instead.
So next only forgetting when it could be rewinding instead, and for that confusion ensue for not any melody instead.
Pourquoi est-il si différents des autres albums ? C'est le seul que j'aime; un coté disjoncté comme Magazine (Howard Devoto)
Recuerdo cuando empezó a salir 3:50
!!!
Is there a cricket somewhere?
#NewRomantic
great album , but feels a bit to fast , or is it me
33:10
Johnny Lydon.
Deck speed's too fast.
Side B of this album is much better than side A
Add Sleepwalk and I agree! 👌
And, side A is mad decent.
🙄
80's decade sign an absolute red line between the best and the worst about pop music...best: talking heads, ultravox, cult, cure, clash, car, stranglers, style council, simple minds, depeche mode, willy de ville, b52's, nxs, the smiths, human league, police, depeche mode, bob geldof and boomtown rats, alyson moyet...worst, a lot of garbage called "musicians" like
duran duran, spandau ballet, tears for fears, george michael, heaven's seventeen, madonna, ricky martin, cock robin, cindy lauper, nick kershaw, phd, bronski beat, boy george and streetboys bands and many other trash....The choice was really simple....
It’s all subjective. Why anyone would take this much effort compiling a list like this means you have far too much time on your hands.
I do not agree. And you didn't have to choose...
I don't care about your comments, respect...
@@alessandromarchesini9039 Keep your opinions to yourself if you don’t want to hear what others think.
swap human league with tears for fears and I mostly agree, but this is all totally subjective.
Лучший альбом группы..........................................................................
En España hay un partido asi, ultra y vox.
