That's how I ended up with my Maine Coon mix. We adopted him thinking he was 9-10 months old and here he was 3 months. He grew to be 30 pounds 😂

When the white one was screaming to his siblings on the nail clip my Coco rushed in loudly miowing to see what was going on. It truly was one of the cutest things I’ve seen her do. She is a very social cat, but she absolutely detests baths.

I'm loving the 'lynx' tipped ears of the Maine Coon! These kittens are a joy.
Until recently, I had a pretty little ginger girl who had lynx ears. She wasn't Maine Coon, but she was a polydactyl. Quite unusual, all around! ❤️🐾

We think one of our cat is part Maine Coon. So big, somuch fur, so handsome as an adult. Those kittens are adorable.

I had a Russian Blue and with her double coat washed her once or twice a year for her comfort. You are so right, I did it from when she was a few months old and she was happy to just sit in the warm water as she grew up (I adopted her at 10 weeks and she passed away a little before her 21st birthday. I still have her ashes)
I rewatched this 3 times in 1 day, it has cured any sense of sadness I have had. This video is the drug everyone needs. THEY ARE SOOOO CUUUTTTEEEE.

The fact you are doing them on your lap validates years of sitting in the tub with any cat who gets bathed and letting them sit on my lap as I bathe them. I have noticed it helping so much. Every time I see videos of people struggling with bathing cats other than questioning the why if it’s not given I also just internally scream at them for how they’re doing it
That is *exactly* how I always bathed my cat and it made a huge difference!
I never would've thought getting in the tub with a whirlwind of claws would be a good idea. You're a lot braver than me.
@@ettinakitten5047 ironically it’s even safer to do it naked too, all the cats i’ve done this with seem to make some sort of connection where removing clothing = taking my fur off or something along those lines so they don’t use their claws. it’s wild, they’ll be gripping my arm for dear life but keep their claws fully tucked in lol

I just have normal 1 brain cell orange dude that's 20lbs and 10yrs old. I have to bathe him every couple of years. He's an indoor cat but somehow got fleas recently. So a bath he got, and now he's dry, I gave him some flea meds. He took his last bath so well! Didn't try to get out, just took it haha!

I'm currently just a puddle in the floor, just utterly melted by their sheer cuteness.
We started taking our cat to a groomer for regular nail trims at just a few months old. We now trim her nails at home without any fuss! I swear she loves the attention. It's totally worth desensitizing them young!
Agreed 100%. We've adopted several shelter cats and clipping their nails is always a pain, the habit wasn't imprinted on them as kittens
I've had to clip my cat's nail for her whole life. She used to fight like a tiger and it took, like, 5 years for her to realize it wasn't that bad. Now she waits for me to be done so she can go back to her nap.

They are SO stinkin' cute!! How do you not keep them all. We rescued a Maine Coon when I was a kid. She was by far the BEST cat I've ever met. She was the sweetest, most beautiful kitty & had the best temperament. She looked just like the little female in this video. She honestly ruined me for all other cats. Well, until I saw these sweet little babies.😍
Maine Coons are known to be good-tempered and friendly! They're one of my favorite cat breeds for this reason. Also because they're big and fluffy.
Back in 2003, my then-new husband and I visited a local registered breeder and fell instantly in love with an adorable 8-week-old blue tabby Maine Coon boy. He left us near the end of 2019, and not a day goes by that we don't miss him. Seeing these three little fluffballs brought back some very happy memories!
Cats live longer then dogs
Aww your story sounds exactly like ours, but yours begins and ends two years earlier than our saga. Plus we didn't get our little floof from a breeder, we found him abandoned next to freight railroad line during an oppressive heat wave. These cats just steal your heart with their cuteness and charm. You can't help loving them or missing them.
Sorry for your loss, yours passed away rather young. We had some clients at the clinic and one in particular would come every month with a lovely couple of maine coons. The girl passed away at the age of 24 and the boy, last I knew, had celebrated his 23 just a couple months ago.

I absolutely love that you brought up the part at around 4 minutes about grooming and cleaning. I've had 4 cats over the past 30 years and only on 1 occation did I ever need to wash one of them because she got scared during transport to the veterinary and urinated in her transport cage. They take care of their own nails, clean themselves and I've never had any smell come from them except that one episode.
That one occation however, made me look like I'd been through a meatgrinder after I went into the shower with her

There's a very high chance that the white one is partially or entirely deaf. It's common for a white cat with two different colored eyes to be deaf in the side with the blue eye, if not completely deaf. His ears didn't appear to twitch, and he seemed overall very calm even through the drying. I have a deaf cat myself, and because she can't hear anything she's not easily startled by strange noises. The white kitten acts the same way.

I had a pure white maine coon with 2 different coloured eyes who acted the same, she was not deaf at all but 1 of her kittens was deaf

@@Rale881 It's equally possible that the white kitten was meowing independently, and the sibling was replying whether or not the white kitten heard. The "response" part requires hearing, but the "call" part, not so much.

Maine Coons have big personalities to match everything else about them. I’m on my second now, and both were/are so friendly, affectionate, and goofy.

Maine Coon cats are very mellow in nature. I know, I bred them and own several!
That's how my cat is at the vet! She kindof freezes when spooked, and by now I think she's figured out that doing that means the checkup will be quick and she can be done fast! I get so many compliments on how well behaved and chill she is, but I also know she's gonna yell and complain as soon as we get home! 😂

OMG! Number 2 looks just like my mom’s old MC. She had the same coloring and they called her Smudge. She crossed the bridge shortly after Mom lost her battle with cancer. They’re together again.

My Pandora was a silver Maine Coon. She loved water and would take showers with me, run out in rainstorms. And yes, she tolerated a bath when she was brought home full of fleas from the pound. ❤

My friends recently rescued a kitten, and as she’s gotten bigger it’s becoming super obvious that she’s at least part Maine coon. Those ittle tufts of fur on the tops of her ears are the cutest thing to me

My big boy Iggi loved being groomed...from nail trims, to cleaning ears to tubbies...he never sharpened his claws, preferred I clip them and would paw me to let me know when he felt it was time. What a character! Maines are the best. The dogs of catdom.

I got my orange cat, who looks like his main coon, or at least part at 8 weeks he had fleas so I had to give him a bath I was told by the vet to use dawn dish soap because it’s mild and it worked but I had to do it multiple times to get all of them so no problem with the water now he’s so friendly I did so much with him as a baby, cat backpack, and walked around the neighborhood, harness train and he’s such a good boy so friendly and open to different settings I’m obsessed with this orange fluffball

The last kitty is what I'm used to when trying to bath a kitten 🤣 We used to rescue them off the street, so our kittens always needed baths because of dirt and flea infestations. Back then, I knew nothing of trimming nails, so it was a LOT of scratches all over. But worth it! 😍
