- 1976 (Shirley delivers a powerful cover of one of Stevie Wonder's ballad hits titled, 'All In Love Is Fair'- At the conclusion of this clip there is a great picture of Shirley and Stevie)
Shirley recorded and released this song on her 1975 LP titled, 'Good, Bad, But Beautiful' - As always, Shirley delivers a powerful rendition of a classic song.
ABOUT this song and Songwriter:
Innervisions is an album by American musician Stevie Wonder, released August 3, 1973 on Motown Records. The song, "All In Love Is Fair' is included on the LP.
A landmark recording, it was the third of five consecutive albums widely hailed as his "classic period", along with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness' First Finale, and Songs in the Key of Life. As with many of Stevie Wonder's albums the lyrics, composition and production are almost entirely his own work, with the ARP synthesizer used prominently throughout the album. This instrument was a common motif among musicians of the time because of its ability to construct a complete sound environment. Wonder was the first black artist to experiment with this technology on a mass scale, and Innervisions was hugely influential on the subsequent future of commercial black music. He also played all or virtually all instruments on six of the album's nine tracks, making most of Innervisions a representative one-man band.
LYRICS:
All is fair in love
Love's a crazy game
Two people vow to stay
In love as one they say
But all is changed with time
The future no one can see
The road you leave behind
Ahead lies mystery
But all is fair in love
I had to go away
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair
All of fate's a chance
It's either good or bad
I tossed my coin to say
In love with me you'd stay
But all in war is so cold
You either win or lose
When all is put away
The loosing side I'll play
But all is fair in love
I should never have left your side
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair - Hudba
God was in his best mood when he created this woman..
❗️I have probably heard this composition in all versions, but in the female version it is the best! Bravo! + Man Michael McDonald Bravo!❤️❤️
Shirley Bassey has the clearest, deepest, lower register with some of the most beautiful tones I've ever heard -- and hearing her sing this perfect song is just an Amazing experience.
+Karen Freid - I certainly agree Karen, and then Shirley unexpectedly, for those who are not aware of her abilities, hits those amazing high register notes. Bassey simply has unbelievable vocal abilities, and still does well into her late 70's...
Sexy voice and detail in every word..
No one can belt like Bassey.
What planet do you have to be from not to know that Shirley Bassey has had tonnes of hits? She is in the Guinness Book of Records.
THIS WOMAN IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Up in the skies, dame shirley this sun shinning forever.
There are not enough words for a monumental presence like this one. Thank you very much !
Amazing!
Amazing voice and charm.
Não me canso de ouvir!!!!!
Shirley and Sammy Dave knew each other going back to the early Las Vegas days. He took her under his wing and protected her from what was going on at that time. FYI - Bassey is the largest selling female vocalist from the UK with over 135 Million records sold. You can't sell that many records without having hits; she has had plenty of them, and has exceeded Elvis' record for the number of weeks on the UK charts. Over 300 weeks. Not enough room here to name all of her hits, thks.
❤️❤️❤️M-A-R-A-V-I-L-H-O-S-O ❤️❤️❤️ Isso é que se chama INTERPRETAR 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Shirley has always sung a whole range of songs ...................cannot wait to hear her new album out in November 2014. this song is from a 1975 album called `GOOD, BAD BUT BEAUTIFUL`
Very nice song by Dame Shirley.
Truly wonderful...!!! ♥️
Stunning and incredible voice and perfect to sing this beautiful son Shirley. Without a doubt your wild and tremendously I respect women like her. Sincerely you sing one of my favorites song in the whole world. I love you
WoW, what a Voice she has and i like her style..:-)
Shirley is from the Dionne Warwick era - artists not stars. They were noted by their class, attention to detail, scrupulous delivery and pitch-perfect performance. The trash on radio today make you want to weep.
Il can not hear her song why ?
Dionne Warwick was not even on the map when Shirley Bassy started out in the 1950s
@@TheNordogShirley is only 3 years older than Dionne. Dionne started singing the same time around as Shirley in the late 50s but yes Shirley became had her break through hit slightly earlier than Dionne.
@@arlenecerf8833 In 1953, Bassey signed her first professional contract Bassy was a top UK artist ten years before Miss Warwick, became of age and Bassy's records are way too strong for Warwick to sing, I have forgotten all the Warwick top records that reached the top ten but I know Bassy's plus I well remember Bassy's first near hits as I do Pet Clarks of 1954 as I was ten years old then, Warwick was nowhere!
@@TheNordog Ms Warwick is 83 and Shirley is 86. There’s only a three year difference. Dionne has been singing backup and gospel in the 50s before her big break in 1962. Basseys records are not too strong for Ms Warwick’s voice. In fact, it’s the other way around since Shirley doesn’t have the range, nuance, tone and seasoned phrasing that Dionne has. Plus, to add to this you maybe more familiar with Petula and Shirley than Dionne since their audience is more U.K. based and they’re not that popular in the USA unlike Ms Warwick , who regarded as the original queen of Pop and Cross over. Point is Dionne famous both in the US and the U.K. and has inspired countless of singers from Cilla Black , Karen Carpenter and her own relative, Whitney Houston!
Magnífica ! ❤
Wow!!!!
A very nice gown!
My magnificent Queen ❤
Maravillosa canción y maravillosa mujer.
My magnificent queen ❤
Very nice!
I love her because she brings a song to life💕
So powerful
All in love is NOT fair! Someone always loses, one will get hurt in the end, no matter whether the reason is leaving or dying, one is left to face things along.
wow
Beautiful
That dress!
great version
Obrigada.

ATTENTION: Dame Shirley Bassey will be appearing at the 2013 Academy Awards Show In Hollywood on February 24th. She will perform for the 50th James Bond anniversary celebration! Wonderful News! Bassey is herself celebrating 60 (Diamond) years in Show Business, starting back in 1953.
Love Streisand’s version. Bassey is great but Dionne’s version is my favorite.
Agreed 100 %
Dionne's tone is definitely sn acquired taste.
@@JaySmith-wo3di I had to get used to Shirley’s frontal placement and rapid phrasing more that Dionne and her great live belts. In fact, many now can see her belts are what influenced Whitney’s belts. So yeah..I think Shirley was more of the acquired taste. Like her but for this song Babs clean voice and Dionne’s rough voice are better to me. Opposite sounds ..so not sure there was much to acquire
@@joelgarcia3907 To each his/her own, but Shirley has a bigger range than Dionne and believe me I love Dionne Warwick. Every singer has songs that suit their voice and songs that don't. I love Shirley's version of this song. I will look up Dionne's and Barbara's after your comments and see what I think.
Dionne version is a master class
So how do you suppose you could think, that you would win me back?
Beautiful version of Stevie Wonders classic but I think Streisand’s version is just incredible - especially the last note
Martin short does a really good impression of her as jackie robinson jr.
That was great Shirley Bassey, Stevie Wonder would approve you did his song justice. Not the best version that I've heard, but that 's my opinion.
pure Love Elias, so who do you think did the best version of this song?
@@sylviacarlson3561 Thanks for asking. Watch this video on youtube
"Jennifer Hudson All Is Fair In Love Stevie Wonder Tribute 2016" And tell me what you think. Enjoy.
She (and Cleo Laine) match the best of the Amercan torch singers
Now, I will look up Cleo Laine
And the geneva convention? The rio convention? Empty words?
un believable. my grand mother put me on to this. comet of talent
Amazing!
