Im a Dutchman and a PSV fan in heart and soul. Even though he played for ajax, i see Marco as one of the best players for his time. I admire his achievements with fellow Dutchman Gullit and Rijkaard at AC Milan. Champions Leagues, Scudettos, Ballon D'ors and euro 1988. Playing under Sachi and Capello with legendary
I Rossoneri. I recognize the texts from his biography that i road this year for the 2nd time (fantastic book!) and it hurts everytime to see that he had to stop too soon with his career. He could have achieved so much more and after his football carreer he still went through a lot of downs as coach and private life. To this day i respect him as one of the best Dutch players we ever had. Dank je wel/Grazie Marco 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

And people complained about Capello’s ‘humanness’ or lack of, people skills, when he coached England, Madrid etc. How could he be human when all he saw were spoiled brats when compared to what this man went through since mid-80s with his ankles. He saw greatness stopped in its tracks and the trauma this man went through. Even at Ajax in last season Cruyff said to him: you don’t play the league but you must bring me the two cups, and that means two-legged semi-finals and the finals. Under injections Marco played those matches, at 21-22. What a player this man was, to be so elegant and mobile at 188cm, both footed, strong aerially. When it comes to CFs for me, it is Ronaldo, then MvB, then daylight to the third. Great video again Fahad.

  • @SatoshiYamamotoLeftyAngler

First off, as many are already commenting, I truly appreciate the entire videos. In my case all of your videos are covering my "dark era" - mid 90s till 2010. In early 90s, I stopped buying football magazines (in my early teens in Japan), which were the main sources of information back then though eventually more football news were featured on TV as Japan started its own professional league. Through 2000s, at least in my surrounding, internet was still slow and I don't recall if I was able to watch CZcams without any interruptions. I could barely catch up with world soccer news by texts in the decade.
Now, as for this video for Marco, I finally understand what had happened. MVB was my childhood hero as I played a center forward (briefly!). In aforementioned football magazines in Japan, from 1989 to 1991 I was buying monthly, and Marco and Milan were always featured. I don't recall if I kept buying magazines in 1992 but I do remember the Euro 92 and he missed a crucial penalty against Denmark. Though sparse, I was able to find and learn Euro 88 and his performance. Rest of 90s, I would pick up soccer magazines at store stands but I didn't see any news about Marco at all. I even knew Milan's roster, Gullit playing in Samdoria and Chelsea, Raijkaard playing in Ajax (won CL in 95) but not about Marco. I would check Wikipedia and such and read about his final few years - just learned he got retired in 95 - but not in details like this. i didn't know injury was that bad. With the current rule, the tackle he got in the Marseille match would have been a straight red card, wouldn't it? Also some "political news" that he didn't quite get along with Sacchi and he wanted to move to Barcelona were new for me.
Like some other commenters here, I was in tears at the end.........thank you very much for the upload.

You guys are the best in the business period I don’t know much videos you can put out in a month maybe 3 or 4 because there so much beautiful detail, some of the match highlights from 70s, 80s, 90s make me light up with so much interest, Rui barros from porto to juve, im Portuguese and I said to my self who the hell is this guy lol, so then I’m watching another video about him and who he was to football, just to say to my self I can’t wait to go back to the balon videos so many gems of information. You guys simply the best there is no competition for you in my eyes, keep on the grind you’ll never run out of videos as long as you can keep getting all these amazing ancient highlights. Best wishes to you.
Players I want, giuly, david villa, miccoli or di Natale, teams, marseille, everton, pls Lyon there domination from 2002-2008. Peace and love

As an Ac Milan fan and season ticket holder from 1988 to 1996, i'm very lucky and privileged to have lived those incredible years of the great Ac Milan. Van Basten was the gem, the jewel, I've never seen such an elegant talent. Without a doubt the best n.9 in the histroy of Ac Milan and one of the best in the history of world football. August 1995, I was there, saying goodbye and thanks to Marco. 85.000 people litterally crying, That night we all knew, every single person standing in San Siro that night was absolutely conscious, that it was not only the farewell to one of the greatest of all time; we all knew that it was the end of an unrepeatable era.

The best striker ever to play the game way ahead of Ronaldo Brazilian too
On a different league played pick of his career with no ankle still made a hell of an impact he had it all power agility free kick left right header free kick long range chips….. Marco van Basten best striker in history
    Period

Great channel. Also, it’d be great if you can do videos on the Legendary AC Milan team of 1987-2010. Another good idea, in my opinion, would be to do a video on historic great teams (e.g. Helenio Herrera’s Inter, Man United in the 1960s, Liverpool in the late ‘70s and 80s, Réal Madrid in the ‘50s, etc.).
Thank you. 👍 Keep it up.

100% would love to hear about the great Milan sides throughout the ages. Overall arguably the richest club in history, success and creating legends. If you look at any Milan team through the 70s 80s 90s and 2000s, there isn’t a player where you think ‘eh not that good’.
