- From the beginning of July, I thought it would be fun to find the oldest Bus in service, and I have found it, route 383 has the oldest bus in service C17UNO (SK07HLM).
Fun Fact, SK07HLM originated from NCP Challenger Buses on route E11.
Uno bought the bus in 2015 when they won route 383 but the reason they changed the license plate is because its privately owned.

Another Fun fact: NCP Challenger commenced trading on 12 November 2005, having successfully tendered to operate routes 33 and 419 under contract to Transport for London. In April 2009, NCP Challenger was rebranded NSL Buses. On 13 November 2009, NSL buses was sold to Transdev with operations taken over by its London United subsidiary.
I spoke to some Uno Bus drivers and I got to say, they are very kind and welcoming especially when the bus driver kindly let me in for a little tour in the bus.
As for 'grumpy passenger' from finchley memorial hospital(saying "its just a bus") 14:28, I suppose you do your research and get ahead with yourself!
It was surprising to see that W5 had SN57DWE running until eventually replaced with electrics from W11 and 379.
It was also good to see that SN57DWF kept in its original condition!!

So, I did some further research and actually, the oldest bus owned by a TfL Company is YJ06 YRP (owned by Metroline) and even though it runs on the country route PB1, and it has last seen passengers on board on the 19 June 2024, it is not sold or SORN, just most likely in storage. I don't know if it will ever see the road again but I know it is still owned by Metroline. The second oldest (or the oldest bus that is still running today in London) is C17 UNO, first recorded mileage on 1 May 2007, while other buses like LK07 BDZ and LK07 BEO first recorded mileage on 1 June 2007. YJ06 YRP had its first recorded mileage on 1 May 2006. So in conclusion, Denzel, you did find the oldest bus *in service* running to this day in London!
It’s C17 Uno which is an 07Reg E200 which is in fact the oldest bus in passenger service in London

YJ06 YRP is not actually a TfL bus, it is classed as an TfL bus if it has an Ibus and a oyster reader

I’ve been to the uno depot before and I got to see many buses including the 383 C17 UNŌ among other buses used on the 383, absolutely amazing to see still in service! Nice video aswell, you’ve earned my sub 👍

Metroline has still got older Enviro 200s which are DE874,DE957 & DE960 in left in service in other Garages Like Cricklewood & Willesden Junction as well & Two DES796 & DES798 both left in service at Potters Bar Garage

Thanks for reviewing one of my very favourite London routes, the amazing 383. Such nice branding. Surprised you didn’t show the opening barrier for buses at the weight restriction on Netherlands Roads though, that is really cool.
Also those small hail and ride ‘guide times’ stops on Torrington Road can be seen all over this area of Barnet on hail and ride sections.

I find it hilarious that London considers 2007 plate buses old. In New Zealand a company imported a few 2010/2011 EX-Metroline enviro200s and retrofitted them with aircons to do additional service in New Zealand. Lol. The oldest route buses on routes was a 1981 bus but that since retired a year ago. We run 2000-2003 plate buses that are going to be retired by april 2025.
2000-2003 was the peak for new buses here in the UK in my honest opinion.

Absolutely agree with you that Uno bus drivers are so lovely (way nicer than some metroline drivers…). I’m sorry about the rude passenger at Finchley Memorial Hospital which is near where I live and I’m sorry about that. Some people don’t allow others to enjoy themselves and that’s really bad.

come down to bournemouth there are many old buses there is one 52 plate one 51 plate and one W plate down here so one is like 25 years old and still in serves and i think i saw a bus from the early 1990s it didnt have the digital display on what serves it was on. im not saying bournemouth has the oldest in the uk but it must be one of the oldest. down in bournemouth we get all the old london buses so 57 plate is new for us
The SN57s did end up carrying in on in the end, both as spares. 36037 at HK and 36038 at AW allocated to 385. Its nice

You may've found the oldest bus (in service) in London, but what about the UK?
So far, I've found a bus (don't know the owner) in the Margate Town Center in Kent with the plate MX06XAR. Let's see if you can do one better.
16:36 is a Hail & Ride Bus Stop
Until earlier this year, we had 2000/2001 plate buses in daily service. And last year our 1999 one was scrapped.
The actual oldest E200 is C17 UNO which is an SK07 which had a reg change!
The oldest bus right now is Go-Ahead Commercial’s 2006 Enviro400 Dennis Trident Voith. Which they’ve only got 14 or 15 left I think and are being replaced sometime this year or later next year from what I was told.
Edit: It runs in London but does RRP and other services but not TFL services anymore.
This bus was formerly owned by RATP Group, and before that, NCP Challenger, which this interior spec is

In North London you can still ride 52 reg Gemini B7TLs, 03 reg Dennis Tridents and 54 reg B7TL Elcs

@@Denzelsworld it depends with sulivian but the ELCs sometimes do 84s the G1s depends on their allocations too but usually sch routes and Presidents are schools sadly but look on bus times and you might get lucky! They do have a trident ELC tho its VOR

Did you know that if this bus were a Dual Door example, the rear doors used an older sliding system, called DEAN. czcams.com/users/shortsR4v6YePuOg8 shows the system in action!

All you've done is stayed INSIDE of London, you need to go outside of London
There's a couple of choices (edit: that are all older than the choice you have gone with):

Go to Bormingham. So e of their ALX400 Double-Deckers are still 20 Years-old. One or two still display 03 Year registrations.
National Express West Midlands have a very early fleet of Scrapyard Buses which are a disgrace on the company!
