Interesting idea. Yeast however colonizes toward potential destruction. I prefer the metaphor of the tree with its root system a nervous system that communicates with other living beings: fungi, types of trees like redwoods that produce an acid that feed rhodedendron each creating a forest floor for animal life, insect life and subterranean life that feeds back into the tree providing shelter and shade from harshness.
