You don't know whether or not the producer cleared the sample if it's not listed in the liner notes. If you figure out what they used and say "so and so used this record on this song" then expose it to, you are sample snitching especially if you claim to be part of a street culture such as hip hop. With the rise of the net it's common practice dudes will tell because they have no understanding of the where this came from or the culture.
