That pianist deserves a good part of the credits. His role throughout the whole exchange of characters is simply superb! Such magic hands they both got.

Magnifique interprétation de cette pièce de musique française, par deux artistes non français! Ils s'approprient cette musique de la plus merveilleuse façon. Merci !!!

The first major chamber work by a man who was to become (in my humble opinion) the greatest composer France has ever produced. His music for piano rivals his 10 large-scale chamber pieces in quality. Beautifully performed here. Thanks for loading this gem.
In that dress Vilda Frang looks like a mermaid who has just climbed out of the sea.

Magnifique interprétation de cette très très belle sonate que je connaissais pas, écrite 10 ans avant celle de Franck... Si je dis cela, c'est parce que je la trouve aussi intéressante !!!

A most impressive, inspired interpretation and performance from both musicians. They have a way of making the architecture of each movement as well as of the entire piece come through. They both have marvelous facilities and flexible, expressive sounds. I’m honestly not sure if all of the colors and densities of tone that each player uses are always especially French or the sort that Faure had in mind-there’s a heaviness to their louder dynamics-but their phrasing and impeccable sense of direction throughout are deeply compelling.

Truly inspiring playing from both, they give it all the expressive elasticity it demands! Early Fauré has that more accessible meaty Romanticism to it as well as the soaring transcendental melodies. Compare the effervescent heroicism of the sequence starting 8:28 with the childlike simplicity of the coda phrase at 9:35, which they play with breathtaking tenderness and subtlety

I hope she records some chamber music. Does anyone have any idea why her CDs are so difficult to obtain in the U.S.? I'm assuming the down votes have to do w/ the impaired stero in the recording, because the performances is aces!

Sonata playing or any kind of chamber music without music always feels wrong lol
