Hey
Can u make more gaming pc reviews? Pleaaasseeee
Hmmm HMMMMM🤔
Imagine smartphone companies making the magnetic part inbuilt.
That wud be a gamechanger for these cables.
Or getting rid of the cable altogether
Have you ever dropped a magnet on soil? That's how terrific the phone would look like 😁
The new blackshark have it.
And the old sony phones too.
Microsoft computer have been using magnet
I think Microsoft surfaces do this
Netflix: Are you still watching?

I don't get it
😂😂😂
Family members keep stealing my charger so this will be a game changer.
Unless they buy the micro USB magnet
Now they'll steal the pin with it😂
You just have to take care of your phone.
And he's talking about cables, not chargers. 🙄
Changing family seems like the better option....
I just realized, without Willy Du, Jack, and others, Lew looks, sounds, and behaves exactly like he was like 2 to 3 years ago. I like it.
Rather than all the over hyping & shouting about everything. He was starting to get on my nerves with it.
Kirsty it’s for the masses, it’s not just for you. To do social media, you need to be entertaining and have a uniqueness to it as well. Sometimes you’re gonna go overboard but that’s the risk it takes to stay relevant in a space where the audience is bringing in new people everyday.
I'm from the future it's not looking good lol
Love how he just plugs the thing in and out for a whole minute at the end
Edit: I've been watching that particular part a lot of times and it could be looped but I'm not sure.
I think he just filmed one or two plugs and then looped it in editing afterwards. I ended up watching like 4 minutes of looped plug/unplug footage... well played Lew.
pretty sure he was testing how much it would connect, like a stress test
?? What there to love about it 😂😂 time to analyze your life decisions mate
Definitely a looping video lol. He prob only unplugged it once or twice and then replay the video.
He's probably still doing it
I’ve never had a good experience with magnetic cables. Especially with the iPhones, I’m sure it happens on android as well. overtime your phone's charging port wears down. The connector that’s supposed to stay in your phone will eventually start popping out whenever you rip the cord off. Essentially becoming a regular charger. Once this starts happening there’s really no point using it anymore. Really the best thing to do would be to buy one with a brand new phone that has a newer charging port so that it will stay in there and your charger port will not wear as fast. However I’m assuming people who buy these have at least had their phone for a while. Just my 2 cents :)
Paul Stejskal Definitely the better option
One word: Cyanoacrylate 🤣
The faulty charger cable is a problem of iPhone. Android provides you with stronger cables. For most Android phones, you don’t need a new charger.
@@nithpro1385 The cable that comes with your phone is usually too short for any practical use and will break eventually.
You can usually just buy a new "tip" and with the genx or gen 10 version, you should just bend the cable towards the front or back of the phone to disconnect. This way it doesn't try to pull the tip out or make it excessively loose. I've been using them for over a year and they're pretty great IMO.
"This one pulling whole thing out"
End of review.
(Lew,2020)
theLordKy0 I think that might just be a feature rather than a design flaw. I noticed that pin has the smallest profile, which can be tricky to pull out. The intended way to disconnect could be tilting the connector to any direction to break the magnetic loop. I was very interested in this kind of cable, until I read about the charging time issue.
Dammit. I want to like it but.....its at 69
@@ferret1252 U may now

It would feel weird having a notch coming out of the bottom of the phone
I could get used to it
People got use to a notch on the screen so why not anywhere else lol
I’ve been using Volta cables for quite awhile, the pros of a magnetic cable far outweigh the small notch at the bottom of the phone for me.
Exactly what I was thinking. The notch would increase the size of the phone and keep it propped up when vertical
Luke Lockwood how do they work with iPhones
Used to use a magnetic charger for about a year 4 years ago. 3 cables: one at home one in the car and one at the office. It seemed like a good idea but there were some malfunctions and what not so I went back to using normal cables but now I have wireless charging docks.
Yes they wir great for a while then stop working at themagnetic junction
Wireless charging heats up your phone and is not as fast as magnetic and normal cables
Thanks Lewis!! Always bringing premium content reviews on products.
I literally watched Lew connect and disconnect a magnetic charger from his phone for the last minute of this video.
I miss the big desk! Glad to see it's back. Love that we got some humor back into the vids also!
The best use for these magnetic cables I've personally found is for wireless headphones and wireless gaming headsets . Set them up next to your headset stand and have it effortlessly charging while they're not in use .. also not even noticeable to have the magnetic connector in the slot on headphones compared to in a phone !
“This ones pulling the whole thing out!” 😂

8:12 I purchased a set similar to this one about a year ago. Came with 2 3ft cables, 2 6ft cables, 4 micro tips, 4 type C tips and 4 i-product device tips for about 17 bucks. Has been a game changer ever since. My wife has an iPhone, I have a Samsung and we also have a couple of tablets. Each devise has a different type of connection but we only use one cable to charge them all. I keep another cable in my car and one at work. I can't express how convenient it is to just need one cable and how easy it is to connect. I would highly recommend it.
A classic Lew video. Glad to have you back
The phone companies should implement this technology in phones like integrated megnatic charging port and cable
That would be so cool
no because magnetic charging is slower than wire charging the same goes for wireless charging
flyng V it shouldn’t have to be slower because it is making a physical connection. But none of these can transmit data. Maybe a magnetic port could be implemented to transmit data but it wouldn’t be as simple as having 1 pin and a ground
Edit: apparently there are some which can transmit data which is neat
Sony already have magnetic connection cable right?
@@sayedrahman3184 Yep, and they got rid of it because nobody was actually using this thing.
And they would be able to make it non-thirdparty so it would be more professional
Disadvantages of using a magnetic cable-
1. low charging and transfer speeds.
2. makes life miserable because it dies every couple days or months (if lucky).
3. Dave2D never recommends it.

You should've also tested the Amps each cable pulls constantly and also data transfer stability.
I have the one that has the stronger magnet that pulls the connector out. You just have to be sure to hold the cable below the connector point and pull straight out to get the whole thing removed. Very good design.

Net dot gen 10 is better to me than the gen 12 because the plug at the bottom isnt round. But one of the main benefits I don't think you mentioned was that you can use one cable for 3 different connector types. 4 pack of cables from net Dot were like under 20 bucks and each came with 3 connectors. (Micro USB, USB C and lightning) very convenient.
The part where you’re talking about giving companies extra points for putting leds to let you know it’s charging and then unplug it and the led was still green had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣

i see those types of magnets but never thought it would turn into a charger cable
Wireless headsets are the best sort of application for these cables. Once you get a low battery notification, just slap the cable to the side of your head rather than needing to take it off and find the right spot/orientation (because most wireless headsets these days still use micro-USB). I've been using the Netdot ones for the past several years, and I've never really thought about it, but it's a real game changer
Lew: DISCLAMER...
Me: hehehe time to spend my money
Someone I worked with had one of these, and the piece that goes into the phone eventually broke, leaving part of it stuck inside the phone. He had to get it repaired at Verizon.
I think the concept of a magnetic charger is cool and convenient, but until the phone manufacturers don't implement it themselves, I'm steering clear of this.
The reason you need one with individual pins on the magnetic connection. Is so it can support AndroidGo/CarPlay in your car. Also they usually support full quick charge.

Hi Lew, I got one for my grandma as she is using nokia 3310 (2017). The phone has Micro USB, which is difficult for her to plug in properly (as she is old and have shaky hands). The magnet cable works like a charm for her. The one I got for her is the one you have at 8:15. Just plug and charge her phone, whenever she needs to, with no worries. much much convenience.

I'm also using a magnetic cable currently. The magnet part on the plugs is the same thickness as my case so it's not poking out. And magnetic cables sometimes saves phone from falling off surfaces when the charging cable is accidentally tugged. Downside is not all of these kind of cables can support fast charging and data transfers.

I use Volta magnetic cables. Price-wise, definitely in the "premium" sector.
Volta for the win
I love magnetic cables and have bought a couple of versions off ebay. I ended up using the one that allowed charging and data syncing (USB 3.0). Since my wireless earphones still uses microusb, having the nibs in all my devices (usb-c and microusb) and carrying around only 1 magnetic cable makes it convenient. There is also less stress on the port itself when I have to unplug and go. The data sync is useful for using in the car when I connect to Android Auto to my vehicle. Because it is magnetic, I can just plug it in with one hand and keeping my eyes on the road. Wish they will start making ones that is thunderbolt 3 usb-c data transfer capability so I can plug my surface laptop to the monitor.
Thanx for taking the risk bro 😆 yeah I wanna update on that first one. Geez your killing me with plug and unplug 🤣☝️
